NYT: Maine Democrats will hold a convention on July 25 where they will select a new Senate nominee to replace Graham Platner.
Maine Democrats are planning to hold county meetings to choose delegates next weekend and the state convention the weekend after that to pick a replacement for Mr. Platner, who filed paperwork to end his campaign on Friday.
For the 30th time since March of last year, Lindsey Graham says his Russia sanctions bill is about to pass the Senate.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth promised to “fix” the suspension of eight South Carolina National Guard Apache helicopter pilots who were grounded after low-altitude flybys over crowded beaches during a July 4 airshow.
It’s the second time this year Hegseth has publicly intervened in an Army review of pilots’ conduct. In March, he lifted the suspension of Army pilots who hovered two helicopters near Kid Rock’s Tennessee home during a training exercise while the singer clapped and saluted.

JUST IN: Graham Platner officially withdrew from the Maine Senate race.
“My name may have been on the ballot, but that ballot line belongs to the people of Maine. As such, please consider this notice as my official withdrawal from consideration for this office. Platner wrote in a letter to Maine’s Division of Elections.
