War as cover for financial collapse: How Middle East conflict could accelerate dollar’s demise

Middle East tensions as financial smokescreen: Analyst Mike Adams warns that U.S.-Israel-Iran conflict may accelerate a global financial reset, destabilizing the dollar’s dominance while masking economic collapse.

Fabricated nuclear pretext: Adams dismisses Iran’s alleged nuclear threat as a false justification for war, comparing it to Iraq’s WMD claims, and criticizes Trump for ignoring intelligence contradicting Netanyahu’s agenda.

Escalation risks & economic fallout: U.S. bunker-busting strikes could provoke Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz, spiking oil prices, enriching Russia, and eroding Trump’s political support amid hyperinflation fears.

War as distraction for financial collapse: Adams alleges elites use conflict to divert blame from unsustainable debt and money printing, paving the way for BRICS nations to abandon dollar-based trade.

Decentralization as survival strategy: Adams urges individuals to shift to gold, Bitcoin, or land, avoid censored platforms, and prepare for regional secession as the U.S. empire declines.

US Military reveals video evidence of encounter with disk shaped "UAP"

In a political and social vacuum the concept of life from other planets with the ability to travel vast interstellar distances to Earth is mind boggling.  However, the timing is odd and the government has yet to produce any tangible pieces of evidence of recovered craft or little green men.  What we have seen is video evidence, once kept under wraps, of military encounters with strange objects doing things that no human technology is supposed to be capable of.

The Department of Defense has revealed new video footage of another aircraft encounter.  They describe the object as a massive "disc-shaped UAP" with an abnormal heat signature weaving through the clouds and changing directions in a way that cannot be explained.

Investigative journalists Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp say the video was recorded by government personnel over the Afghan-Pakistan border in November 2020.  The video was released by the DoD last week.

US Military scrambles for ways to protect bases from drone warfare

The U.S. military is prioritizing the protection of its bases in the country from drone attacks after Ukraine launched a surprise attack against Russia earlier this month and Israel is suspected of using the same strategy against Iran.

U.S. military leaders are increasingly concerned that similar attacks, which leverage low-cost commercial drones against expensive weapons systems, could pose a lasting threat to bases and critical infrastructure throughout the country.

However, the Army and other service branches are struggling to design and deploy appropriate technologies to defend bases on U.S. soil, owing to variables that don’t need to be considered in a war zone.

“How we’re going to [defend bases] in a combat zone is very different from how we would do that in the states, obviously,”

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George said at a House Armed Services Committee on June 4.

Whereas officers at an outpost overseas might simply engage with an unidentified drone approaching their base before any potential harm can occur, the military lacks the authority to engage with drones on U.S. soil, unless those drones directly enter a facility’s airspace.

$150 oil on the table: Goldman analysts warn as Iran threatens strait shutdown

As conflict brews across the Middle East, U.S. airstrikes on Iran have reignited worries that Tehran might block oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz. Goldman Sachs analysts are now pointing to a growing risk premium in oil markets, with attention locked on threats to one of the world’s most vital shipping routes for energy.

Goldman Sachs’ strategists estimate oil is currently trading with about a $10-per-barrel geopolitical bump, as traders price in a 10% to 15% probability of major supply disruption. The firm lays out four escalation paths: one where crude holds around $72, and others where direct Iranian action or a strait shutdown could propel prices past $100—or even toward $150.

Nearly one-fifth of the globe’s crude and LNG moves through the strait, so any disruption risks jolting energy markets and triggering global economic fallout. Around 10:30 a.m. Eastern on Sunday, reports indicated Iran’s parliament backed a plan to shutter the Strait of Hormuz. The final decision now awaits the nod from Iran’s top security brass.

Should Iran launch direct attacks or halt shipping lanes, Goldman sees Brent potentially pushing past $90. A complete closure of the strait could send oil soaring temporarily. Tehran might also bluff—talking up threats to drive prices higher without pulling the trigger. In Goldman’s most extreme scenario, with 15–17 million barrels per day offline, prices could briefly climb into the $120–$150 bracket.

Iranian uranium undamaged after strike?

Satellite imagery captured ahead of U.S. strikes on three major Iranian nuclear sites showed "unusual" movement around the entrance to Iran's Fordow enrichment facility.

Fordow was one of three Iranian nuclear sites that the U.S. bombed early Sunday morning. Pictures taken on Thursday and Friday showed "unusual truck and vehicular activity" close to the entrance of the underground Fordow complex south of Tehran, satellite imagery firm Maxar said late on Saturday.

A total of 16 cargo trucks were spotted on the access road leading up to the Fordow tunnel entrance on Thursday, but most had moved to a spot 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) northwest of the access road by the following day, Maxar said.

New trucks and multiple bulldozers had appeared close to the main entrance by Friday, with one truck very close to the main tunnel entrance, the satellite imagery provider said.

The significance of the activity is not yet clear, but Iranian state media reported key nuclear sites had been evacuated ahead of U.S. attacks, with enriched uranium moved "to a safe location."

Are COVID vaccines accelerating deadly cancer epidemics?

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the nation’s most respected cancer institutions—including Memorial Sloan Kettering, Dana-Farber, MD Anderson, and the Mayo Clinic—have been reporting an alarming surge in cancer incidence.

A more disturbing hypothesis gaining traction involves the potential biological effects of the SARS-CoV-2 virus itself, and more controversially, the experimental mRNA vaccines deployed globally by Pfizer and Moderna.

Among the most troubling observations from oncologists is the rise of what is being informally termed “turbo cancers”. These aggressive, fast-moving malignancies are appearing in individuals with no prior history of the disease.

It has only been during the past 2-3 years that the term “turbo cancer” has emerged in both clinical observations and in critical medical commentaries to describe a deeply disturbing trend. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, there have been increasing numbers of cases of a rapid, aggressive onset of cancer in individuals who were previously healthy, in remission, or without prior cancer diagnoses.

Too Much Bad News? News Avoidance on the Rise

The war in Ukraine, tensions in the Middle East, tariffs, inflation and so on and so forth. It sometimes feels like there’s no end to bad news, and, especially in the age of doom scrolling, that can take a toll on people’s mental wellbeing. As a consequence, more and more people actively try to avoid the news or at least ration their exposure to it.

According to a survey, an average of 40% of people from 48 countries sometimes or often actively avoid the news, a significant increase from 29% in 2017, when the research was first conducted. As the chart shows, selective news avoidance became significantly more widespread across all markets in recent years, with more than four in 10 respondents from the United Kingdom and the U.S. consciously reducing their news intake.

The report finds that news avoidance is often linked with low trust in the news and that there are generally two types of news avoiders: consistent avoiders who typically have low education levels and little to no interest in the news and selective avoiders who struggle with news overload and try to insulated themselves from certain topic to protect their mental wellbeing.

U.N. warns terrorists could hijack driverless cars to launch ai-powered mass casualty attacks

A chilling new report released by the United Nations warns that terrorists could hijack autonomous vehicles to carry out mass casualty attacks without risking their own lives, potentially turning driverless cars into lethal AI-powered “slaughterbots.”

The report, titled Algorithms and Terrorism: The Malicious Use of Artificial Intelligence for Terrorist Purposes, outlines the growing threat posed by emerging technologies such as self-driving cars, drones, and other automated systems when exploited by extremists. The report presents a grim forecast of how AI could expand terrorists’ capabilities to strike populated areas without human operatives on-site.

“The likelihood of co-ordinated attacks using hijacked or self-made AVs in the near future, i.e., five to ten years, is moderate to high and should be on the radar of all national security services and practitioners in the UK as a possible threat,” it says.

The report’s release adds urgency to ongoing global discussions around AI safety, ethical deployment of autonomous systems, and counterterrorism strategies in an increasingly automated world.

Japan releases bombshell Vax vs. Unvax data on 18 million people

A COVID vaccine database covering 18 million citizens has just been released for the first time.

On June 15th, a group of brave Japanese truth seekers did what their government wouldn’t—they released a bombshell broadcast exposing vaccine data from over 18 million people.

Journalist Masako Ganaha posted on X: “If the government won’t do it, then the people should investigate the mass deaths of Japanese people! Database of 18 million vaccinated people revealed for the first time!”

The video featured Member of the House of Representatives Kazuhiro Haraguchi, prominent Dr. Yasufumi Murakami, and the Information Disclosure Request Team.

Dr. Murakami’s conclusion was blunt: “…the more doses you get, the sooner you’re likely to die, within a shorter period…”

According to Dr. Murakami, there was no noticeable spike in deaths among the unvaccinated. But among the vaccinated, a clear peak emerged—especially between 90 and 120 days after the shot.

As the number of vaccine doses increases, the peak in deaths appears sooner.

“This is a key discovery,” he continued. “The more doses, the more the peak shifts, indicating that the toxicity accumulates. The toxicity overlaps, and the more doses you receive, the faster people die.”

China’s structural slump may fuel flood of cheap goods to EU

China’s factories have been producing more than its domestic market can absorb, and those goods are headed to Europe.

On June 12, the independent Brussels-based Bruegel institute’s latest study warned that China’s persistent industrial overcapacity, weak domestic demand and deflationary pressures could be externalised via exports. It said Europe was particularly exposed in sectors such as electric vehicles (EVs), batteries and steel.

Europe’s steel sector was already bearing the brunt of this shift. Despite sanctions and safeguards, large volumes of Russian steel were still entering the bloc, while Chinese deliveries have increased sharply.

European Union producers warned the market was at risk of saturation as overcapacity was redirected.

Industry fears were also now growing that ongoing trade negotiations with India may further open the door to yet another low-cost exporter, amplifying downward price pressures.

According to Bloomberg on June 12, the number of loss-making industrial firms in China was at its highest since 2001.

More Americans plan summer 'staycations'; Cincinnati named top spot

A new survey reveals that 46% of Americans plan to travel this summer. Of the remaining 54%, 65% say affordability is keeping them from venturing out - and will be taking 'staycations' near home.

One of the top issues among those choosing 'staycations' is the cost of living - plus the higher costs of traveling, which include airfare, hotels, meals and entertainment. Others polled cited having too much debt or focusing on other financial priorities.

A staycation can be a fun fallback option. If nothing else, take some time off to relax and recharge at home. Play tourist in your local area or just enjoy some downtime with family and friends.

The top 10 cities for 'staycationers' include Orlando and Tampa, Florida; Honolulu, Hawaii; Las Vegas, Nevada; and San Diego, California - with Cincinnati, Ohio in first place.

Cincinnati - also known as the "Queen City" - dates back to 1788, and today is Ohio’s 3rd most populated city with over 2.3 million residents and 25 neighborhoods.

Globalists go radio silent as NATO flirts with World War III

Without war, the globalists have nothing. Maybe they can pull off an economic crisis (all the pieces are certainly in place), but in a vacuum they could get the blame. War offers a valuable distraction for the masses and an ever adaptable scapegoat. People broke and starving? Well, that’s just war. The dollar crashing? Currencies are at risk during war. Freedoms being curtailed? Hey, people need to set aside their liberties for the sake of “security”.

The globalists in Europe are doing everything in their power to prolong the conflagration. They know Ukraine is never going to get their lost territory back. They know that Russia is generating a massive breakout on the front lines in the east. They have no peace plan. Their purpose is to force a direct confrontation between NATO forces and Russian troops. It’s the only explanation for the attacks on Russian nuclear armaments. It’s a provocation designed to end all chances of a ceasefire and take the war to the next level.

Diplomatic pathways are fading fast.

Most likely scenario? Ukraine cities get hammered in a relentless Russian bombardment and Europe vows to deploy its forces to intervene. Even if Trump cuts off all US ties to Ukraine and walks away, there’s little that can be done to prevent the disaster that comes next.

EU defense ‘not enough to deter’ potential adversaries

Europe’s defense capacities and its planned improvements were not enough to scare away its armed adversaries, military experts warn.

European defense Commissioner Andrius Kubilius stressed that times had fundamentally changed for the European Union.

At the European Defense Summit on June 10, a host of military experts addressed the many challenges Europe was facing, ranging from rebuilding its shrunken armies and rebalancing its relations with the US and within NATO.

“We need to put aside our peacetime glasses”, Kubilius said.

“We must be ready for defense, in all the different domains: In industrial capacity, in readiness of public finances to pay for what is needed, and there should be no obstacles for cooperation between the EU and NATO.”

Kubilius highlighted the need for European investments to focus on joint procurement, pooling resources and combining markets and reducing dependencies from abroad.

“If we want peace in Europe, we need to be ready to be independent,” he said.

German exports to US drop substantially as global trade shifts

Germany’s exports to the US have slumped, according to the latest data by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).

In April 2025, German exports to the US had dropped by more than 10 per cent compared to March 2025. That came in the wake of the “Trump tariffs”, which were initially announced on April 3.

During the first three months of 2025 German exports to the US had still shown a slight growth of 0.2 per cent. This, though, was primarily due to anticipatory effects as companies pulled forward imports to shield against expected changes in the US tariff system.

As German industrial magazine Produktion reported on June 6, the April drop in exports may just have been the start of a longer-term decrease in trade activity between Germany and the US.

The main burden of the tariff conflict was borne by industries such as mechanical engineering, metals and materials as well as automotive suppliers, all important sectors for the German economy.

Obama demands a Ministry of Truth

Former President Barack Obama is doubling down on his push to curb free speech in America, urging the federal government to tighten its grip on what citizens can say online.

"We want diversity of opinion. We don't want diversity of facts,” claimed during an interview this week with historian and author Heather Cox Richardson. "That, I think, is one of the big tasks of social media.”

Obama then flat out called for government regulation of social media platforms to curb the amplification of of what he described as “hateful" and “polarizing” public figures, while respecting First Amendment rights, claiming that censorship is essential to addressing business models that purportedly erode public trust.

Obama told attendees, “These platforms are not like the old phone company.” The president further noted, “In some cases, industry standards may replace or substitute for regulation, but regulation has to be part of the answer.”

Donald Trump has taken the opposite approach to Obama by emphasizing free speech in his second term, issuing a January executive order to safeguard Americans’ right to express themselves.

In April, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the closure of the Global Engagement Center, a State Department unit infamous for its role in suppressing Americans’ free speech.

Alleged Minn. assassin says Gov. Tim Walz wanted him to kill Sen. Amy Klobuchar

The man accused of shooting two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses reportedly wrote in a letter to the FBI that Gov. Tim Walz also wanted him to assassinate Sen. Amy Klobuchar, according to a bombshell report from the Minnesota Star Tribune. A Walz spokesperson did not deny the allegation when commenting on the report.

Citing two people familiar with letter’s contents, the Star Tribune reports that Boelter claimed “Gov. Tim Walz instructed him to kill U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar so that Walz could run for the U.S. Senate.”

Boelter does have a loose link to Walz, who ran for Vice President last year on Kamala Harris’s ticket. Boelter was appointed to the workforce development board by then-Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton in 2016 and then reappointed in 2019 by Walz to a four-year term that expired in 2023.

However, the Star Tribune says that Boelter’s letter reflected the ramblings of a mentally ill man, downplaying the likelihood that what he says about Walz is true.

LA Dodgers pledge $1 million in support of immigrants amid ICE raids

The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced they will commit $1 million towards financial assistance for families of immigrants “impacted by recent events in the region.”

The announcement, made on Friday, did not specify exactly what “recent events” referred to, but it comes amid ongoing federal immigration raids targeting migrants in the area, and calls from the Dodgers’ fanbase for the organization to speak out against them.

“What’s happening in Los Angeles has reverberated among thousands upon thousands of people, and we have heard the calls for us to take a leading role on behalf of those affected,” the Dodgers president and CEO, Stan Kasten, said in a statement.

“We believe that by committing resources and taking action, we will continue to support and uplift the communities of Greater Los Angeles.”

The announcement said the Dodgers would work with the City of Los Angeles, and in the coming days make more announcements with local community and labor organizations that support families with food and mental health services.

Federal immigration enforcement sparked heated protests in Los Angeles this month and ongoing legal challenges over President Trump’s decision to send National Guard troops into the city.

Dutch Greens and Socialists want to cut supplies for Israel’s Iron Dome

The Dutch Green Left and Labour Party (GL-PvdA), which formed a “unity list” under the leadership of Frans Timmermans, has demanded an embargo on parts used by Israel’s Iron Dome, the country’s air defence system.

Their call came as Israel has been defending itself from Iranian rocket attacks across the country in retaliation to Israeli strikes on Iran.

“Israel is currently the aggressor, if Israel were a victim, we would have a different discussion,” GL-PvdA MP Kati Piri said in a debate on a motion asking for the parts embargo.

Outgoing foreign minister Caspar Veldkamp stressed that the defence system was crucial and protected civilians.

“I note that GL-PvdA has taken a turn on this issue. It is a turn that we as a cabinet are not going to adopt in any case.”

Piri claimed the Iron Dome was the reason Israel could attack Iran and that it would be afraid to do so if it did not have it. She said it was part of Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s attack strategy and that was why the Netherlands should stop selling parts that are being used in the system.

China is attempting to usher in a “multi-polar international monetary system”

China’s central bank governor, Pan Gongsheng, expects a new global currency order to emerge with the renminbi competing in a “multi-polar international monetary system.”

The new multi-polar, also stylised as multipolar, monetary system is controlled by the same interests that controlled the previous international monetary system.  The monetary system may change but the power brokers stay the same.

Pan Gongsheng expects a new global currency order to emerge, with the renminbi competing in a “multi-polar international monetary system.”

Speaking at China’s flagship financial forum in Shanghai, Pan Gongsheng said the US dollar had “established its dominance” after the Second World War and “retained its status up till now.”

Pan said the key developments in the international monetary system during the past two decades had been the introduction of the euro and the rise of the renminbi since the global financial crisis in 2008.

His comments came a day after Christine Lagarde, president of the European Central Bank, said the “dominant role of the dollar” was “no longer certain”, creating an opening for the euro to take “global prominence.”

Pan and Lagarde met in Beijing last week to sign a memorandum of understanding on co-operation in central banking, which includes a framework for regular dialogue.

Pan also noted discussions around greater use of SDRs – a basket of currencies defined and maintained by the IMF – as a potential alternative that could help “overcome the inherent problems of a single sovereign currency as the dominant international currency.”

Don't even think about living in this state unless you make at least $300,000

Here’s data from a research conducted by SmartAsset

If you want to live comfortably in Massachusetts, the most expensive state in the United States, a family of four should have an income of at least $300,000 annually.

To live comfortably, a household must allocate 50% of income to essential expenses, 30% to discretionary spending, and 20% to debt repayment and savings, adhering to the 50/30/20 budgeting framework.

Boston’s cost of living of more than 4% outpaced the U.S. national average of 3.87% in 2024. Boston is also the most expensive city in the country to raise a child, with the bulk of the annual $39,22 cost coming from child care.

In comparison, the national average of raising a child in the U.S. is about $15,800. A key factor that attributes to it is they have also the 4th highest housing cost, with about $5,000 extra annually for families.

The cost of living for families in other states may not be quite as high as in Massachusetts, but three states — Vermont, New Jersey and Montana — are on track to rapidly catch up, with double-digit growth rates from 2024, found SmartAsset’s report.

On the flip side, overall costs of living actually shrank from 2024 in six states: Hawaii, New York, Georgia, Delaware, Michigan and Iowa.

In contrast, Mississippi stands as the most affordable state, where a family of four needs a minimum annual income of $186,618 to live comfortably.

Average age of US women giving birth increases to nearly 30

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report, the average age of women giving birth in the United States is now close to 30 years, with the percentage of first births falling among young females.

The mean age at birth for all mothers increased from 28.7 in 2016 to 29.6 in 2023, according to the report. For first births, the average age rose from 26.6 years to 27.5 during this period.

The percentage of first births rose by 12.6% in women aged 30-34 and by 25% for women aged 35 and above.

In contrast, the percentage of first births among women aged 20-24 declined by 9 percent, and for those younger than 20 by 26%.

“Higher maternal age is linked to smaller family size on average and may carry different health risks and benefits compared with younger maternal age,” the CDC said.

How the transgender movement turned the left against women

We know a lot about gender dysphoria. But here’s the key: They’re very rare.

Until the transgendered—I don’t know what we would call it—phenomenon in the last 10 years, we accepted classical epidemiological studies that showed there were about five people who suffered from genuine transgendered phenomenon per 100,000 people: 0.005%. If you do the math, in a country of about 340 million people, we’re talking maybe 20,000.

But you see the Pew poll and other polling ask students on campus, they ask the general public and they say there may be 20 million people. But there has been no history of that once the science of epidemiology started, which suggests it might be more of a trendy phenomenon than actual biological or scientific matter.

Transgenderism is an old phenomenon. It was very, very rare, a very small percentage of the population. Sometime around 2005 to 2015, it exploded as a civil rights issue. And the numbers have been vastly inflated. It’s been trendy among young people on campus. But it has almost destroyed female sports in a way that’s ironic, tragically ironic, because the Left once was a protector and the champion of female sports and now it’s de facto, it’s destroyer.

Is the US on the path to becoming a failed state?

The United States has entered a phase that resembles the early stages of state failure. What once seemed impossible in a country with vast resources and robust democratic traditions now appears increasingly plausible.

The signs are evident. A government that has turned inward and become both self-protective and vindictive. An economy that is straining under a combination of political hubris and international estrangement. A population facing widening inequality and the fraying of social bonds. Historical examples of state collapse reveal that such trajectories, once set in motion, become difficult to reverse. For centrist Democrats who have long believed in the resilience of American institutions, it is essential to understand the historical precedents and the structural forces at play.

State failure is not typically marked by a single event. It is a process that begins with the corrosion of political legitimacy and ends in the disintegration of central authority. In the United States, this erosion of legitimacy can be seen in the deliberate politicization of the civil service and the Justice Department, the relentless attacks on the press and civil society, and the hollowing out of regulatory agencies through mass firings and loyalty tests.

California spends $12.1 billion on illegal immigrant healthcare, defying voters and risking fiscal collapse

California’s latest budget allocates a staggering $12.1 billion to provide free healthcare for illegal immigrants through Medi-Cal, despite a $58 billion deficit. The state has borrowed more than $3 billion to cover unexpected costs from the program in a reckless fiscal gamble that could soon force new taxes on struggling families. Worse yet, pending federal Medicaid reimbursement cuts could slash $11.2 billion annually from California’s budget, leaving citizens to foot the bill for a program they never approved.

This isn’t just fiscal mismanagement; it’s a betrayal of the very people Sacramento claims to serve. While Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration touts "healthcare for all" as a moral victory, the reality is a bankrupt system prioritizing illegal immigrants over vulnerable citizens, with doctors fleeing the state and emergency loans propping up an unsustainable scheme.

Doctors flee due to low reimbursement rates, leaving citizens with dwindling healthcare access. Critics call the program unsustainable, prioritizing illegal immigrants over taxpayers footing the bill.

This bill would pay back troops fired by Biden for refusing Vax mandate

Sen. Tim Sheehy (R-MT) introduces legislation that would, if passed and signed into law, provide back pay to the thousands of troops negatively affected by former President Joe Biden’s COVID military vaccine mandate. The legislation is designed to restore pay and benefits to thousands of U.S. service members discharged for noncompliance with the vaccination requirement under the former Biden government.

“This unacceptable action by the last administration robbed servicemembers of the pay and benefits they rightfully earned in service to our country,” Sheehy said in a statement. He added: “My legislation will right this wrong by building on President Trump’s Executive Order to reinstate those servicemembers, ensuring we fulfill our government’s sacred obligations to the men and women who put their lives on the line in defense of our freedoms.”

According to the Montana Republican, nearly 8,500 active-duty troops were dismissed for noncompliance with Biden’s mandate, while the Army Reserve and National Guard lost over 60,000 more. In total, around 100,000 servicemembers and their families were impacted, with many losing pay, benefits, and retirement credit.

With China rapidly scaling up nuclear energy, US faces 'a Sputnik moment'

The United States has nearly twice as many nuclear reactors and at least five times the number of artificial intelligence-generating data centers that China now has.

But while only two new nuclear power plants have been built in the United States this century, China has built nearly 40 and, as China Atomic Energy Authority Vice Chair Wang Yiren told the China Nuclear Energy Association in May, the Chinese Communist Party “aims to overtake the United States in installed nuclear capacity by 2030.”

China’s rapid development of nuclear energy to power AI “has triggered a Sputnik moment” among the United States’ reactor designers and operators, Oklo Chief Technology Officer Pat Schweiger said.

The United States is the world’s largest generator and consumer of nuclear energy, with 94 nuclear reactors in 55 power plants. The U.S. Energy Information Administration calculates that the plants generated 18.6 percent of their electricity in 2023.

However, most were built between 1970 and 1990 and average more than 40 years in service.

The only new reactor to come online in the United States since 2016 is Vogtle’s fourth reactor in Georgia, $16 billion over budget and six years behind schedule.

According to the World Nuclear Association, China has 58 operating reactors with 32 under construction, including 10 projected to come online in 2025.

How I’m prepping for the potential of war
By Daisy Luther

We all hope that the world will dodge a bullet again and avoid diving into World War III. But things aren’t looking great. However, the signs and omens of war are not what this article is about. You can read about what is happening now on dozens of websites across the internet.

We can’t stop the drums of war, but we can prepare for the potential of war. That is something over which we have control and I’d rather focus on what I can control than worry incessantly about things that are not within my power.

We don’t know if this conflict will all be fought overseas or if it will creep onto our shores. In my opinion, it’s best to prepare for the worst-case scenario and hope that it doesn’t happen.

Here’s where I’m putting my money right now as far as preps are concerned.

Sam Altman says Meta is offering OpenAI staff $100 million to poach AI talent

The CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, has accused Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta of offering as high as $100 million in signing bonuses in its aggressive bid to poach AI talent from the ChatGPT maker.

Altman made the disclosure during an episode of Uncapped, a podcast hosted by his brother, where he described the compensation packages Meta is offering as “crazy.”

“They’ve tried to hire a lot of people at OpenAI. “So far, none of our best people have decided to take them up on that,” Altman said.

Meta, once recognized as a leader in open-source AI models, has suffered from staff departures and has postponed the launches of new open-source AI models that could rival competitors like Google, China’s DeepSeek, and OpenAI.
