In latest blow to European democracy, judge rules Marine Le Pen ineligible to run for president in 2027

National Rally (RN) party leader Marine Le Pen has been found guilty of embezzlement of public funds and was banned from running in elections with immediate execution. She has also been sentenced to four years imprisonment, with two years suspended.

On the morning of March 31, the judge at the Paris court also handed down guilty verdicts to eight other current or former members of Le Pen’s party who, like her, previously served as MEPs in the European Parliament.

According to the court, the politicians set up a system between 2004 and 2016 to funnel €2.9 million from the EP to the headquarters of the RN in Paris. Le Pen has been “at the heart of this system since 2009”, according to President Bénédicte de Perthuis.

For this, Le pen and all elected officials were sentenced to ineligibility. However, at the time of publication, it was unclear for how long she would be ineligible. Le Pen herself was found guilty of embezzling €474,000 of public funds.

The public prosecutor demanded a five-year ineligibility sentence against her. If this sentence included immediate enforcement, the RN’s leading figure would automatically become ineligible from running in the 2027 presidential election, even if an appeal was possible.

Judge blocks Trump from ending amnesty for 350,000 migrants

A federal judge on Monday ordered Homeland Security to keep in place a deportation amnesty for 350,000 Venezuelan migrants who were about to lose their status, saying the Trump administration seemed to be acting on “negative stereotypes.”

U.S. District Judge Edward Chen, an Obama appointee to the court in California, said DHS Secretary Kristi Noem likely broke the law when she canceled Temporary Protected Status for the Venezuelans. He said her reasoning was “entirely lacking in evidentiary support” and shouldn’t stand.

Judge Chen also ruled that the migrants stand to lose too much if they are ousted, so he ordered the government to postpone the end of TPS for those Venezuelans. He took a particular swipe against President Trump’s “America First” slogan, saying the fact that he and Ms. Noem have used it to justify their policies showed an “unconstitutional animus” toward migrants.

Bill Gates says AI will eliminate most jobs except for coders, energy experts, and biologists

Last Wednesday, CNBC reported that Bill Gates has “predicted” that within the next 10 years, advancements in AI will significantly reduce the need for human involvement in many tasks, including those of doctors, teachers and people who are “growing food.” He made the remarks during an interview with Jimmy Fallon last month.

During the interview, Gates identified only three occupations that are likely to remain safe from a hostile AI takeover: coders, energy experts and biologists.

Gates believes coders are necessary because while AI can generate code, it makes errors that only human programmers can correct.

Interestingly, writing for Windows Central earlier this week, Kevin Okemwa said, “Over the past few months, I’ve covered multiple reports suggesting that coding might be dead in the water with the rapid prevalence of AI.  NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang discouraged the youth from exploring a career path in software engineering, suggesting they might have better luck in biology, education, manufacturing or farming.”

As for “energy experts,” Gates claims the complexity of managing power grids and critical infrastructure requires human oversight for safety and strategic decisions.  But for how long? Because when the energy required to supply the Globalists’ control system is in place, will “energy experts” be required?

The third group whose jobs Gates deems worthy of saving are biologists. Gates “predicts” that biologists will remain essential in the face of AI advancements due to their unique skills in scientific discovery and critical thinking.

While AI can process vast datasets and aid in disease diagnosis, it lacks the ability to formulate groundbreaking hypotheses or make intuitive leaps in research. AI has yet to master creativity, intuition and critical thinking – Gates is foolish if he thinks it ever will.  Nevertheless, apparently, out of all the many roles people fulfil in the world, biologists are the only ones, according to Gates, who rely on these human qualities.

Macron fails to get Europe to send troops to Ukraine

European leaders met last week at the behest of French President Emmanuel Macron, who wants to solidify a plan to send troops to Ukraine as a security package. However, the meetings emerged, according to the Wall Street Journal, “without a public commitment from other European countries to send troops.”

France and the United Kingdom have been pushing for troops on the ground in Ukraine, while most are apparently unwilling to send their armed forces to Ukraine without the protection of the United States.

“My wish is that the Americans are engaged at our side, but we have to be prepared for a situation in which they maybe don’t join in,” Macron said.

Another European diplomat said, "when Ukraine was in a better position, the idea of sending troops appealed. But now, with the situation on the ground and the U.S administration as it is, it's not very sexy.”

Meanwhile, after negotiations earlier in the week, U.S. and Russian leaders agreed on an expanded ceasefire deal focused on the Black Sea.

Intelligence community warns America's adversaries are uniting

Cartels and gangs pose the most direct danger to the U.S., intelligence officials said as they delivered their annual global threat assessment to Congress.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said drug cartels have flooded America with drugs, helped migrants swamp the border and are growing increasingly violent in the areas south of the border where they operate.

She said the cartels and gangs are what “most immediately and directly threaten the United States.”

“They seek to challenge the United States and other countries through deliberate campaigns to gain an advantage while also trying to avoid direct war,” the assessment said.

“Growing cooperation between and among these adversaries is increasing their fortitude against the United States, the potential for hostilities with any one of them to draw in another, and pressure on other global actors to choose sides.”

Gold reaches all-time high amid escalating trade tensions

Gold prices surged to an all-time high ($3,086.70/oz) amid escalating U.S.-led trade tensions, marking its 18th record this year.

President Trump’s new 25% tariffs on foreign-made cars and parts sparked fears of retaliation (e.g., Canada, EU), worsening risk sentiment and boosting gold demand.

Wall Street declined, and the U.S. Dollar Index dropped 0.33%, supporting gold’s rise (inverse dollar correlation). Other metals like silver and platinum also saw weekly gains.

Despite trade tensions, U.S. labor (224K jobless claims) and GDP (2.3% Q4 growth) showed resilience, while Fed rate cut expectations (64.5 bps by 2025) remained intact.

The renewed trade war concerns and the resulting market volatility have pushed gold prices to new record highs. As investors continue to seek safe havens, the precious metal is likely to remain a popular choice. The upcoming release of the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge, the Core Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index, will be closely watched for further insights into the direction of monetary policy and its impact on gold prices.

It's not your imagination: lower courts acting much differently toward Trump admin than previous ones

If you’ve paid attention to the news lately, you’d think you were living in the movie “Groundhog Day” where the Bill Murray character is forced to live the same day over and over again. So it is with the lower courts and the Trump administration, where it seems as if not an afternoon goes by without some judge you’ve never heard of stepping in and thwarting Donald Trump’s agenda.

The Republicans may have complete control of Congress, but President Trump still has a major roadblock to carrying out his agenda — the courts.

The lower courts blocked more of Trump’s executive orders in his first two months of office than they did for other recent commanders in chief during their entire terms.

The lower courts have slapped at least 15 national injunctions against Trump so far this year.

That drastically outpaces the six against former President George W. Bush during his entire presidency and the 12 against former President Barack Obama and the 14 against former President Joe Biden for their whole time in office, too.

Germany’s Stern magazine calls for conscription of young people to take up arms ‘to defend diversity’ in pro-war propaganda piece

German youth should die for ethnic food restaurants and LGBT museum exhibits, according to the logic of the New Germany

Stern Magazine is calling for mass conscription of German youths to join the army, including to ensure the defense of “freedom and diversity.” The reaction to the article has been harsh to say the least, with hundreds of negative comments directed at Stern.

The article, entitled “Others no longer defend us? Then we must do it ourselves!” claims that “the USA no longer wants to protect Germany. This brings a bitter realization: Our unbearable complacency must end.”

The solution? Start drafting German youth to fight the future wars. The author, Tilman Gerwien, a German male noticeable well past the age of someone who might typically be drafted, says that the days of a “dollhouse-like Bullerbü” are over and “we have to grow up.” He details the left’s traditional stance against conscription, which saw German youths demanding American troops leave Germany, was “not only a matter of conscience, but also a lifestyle.” He noted that at demonstrations against NATO, “people hopped around in peace-loving spirits, chanting ‘Out of NATO, into fun!'” All of this has to end, according to Gerwien, who does not seem particularly like the type of person to rush into battle himself.

There is no way to know if Gerwien was ever a part of these previous protests or ever shared those sentiments at one time, but it is notable that he is now old enough to not have to face the draft himself. Lucky him.

China’s space dogfighting: A new frontier in the battle for orbital dominance

The U.S. Space Force revealed that China is practicing "dogfighting" maneuvers with satellites in low Earth orbit, using coordinated movements to inspect, stalk and potentially disable other satellites, signaling a growing threat to U.S. space infrastructure.

The Space Force, established in 2019, aims to ensure U.S. space superiority by developing capabilities to contest and control the space domain, employing both kinetic and non-kinetic means to counter adversary threats.

China's recent maneuvers, alongside its history of anti-satellite tests and counterspace capabilities, highlight a shift toward aggressive space warfare tactics, including jamming, spoofing and cyberattacks.

The U.S. must undergo cultural, operational and technological transformations to maintain dominance in space, as failure to adapt risks ceding critical strategic advantages to adversaries in this increasingly contested domain.

The judicial insurrection is worse than you think

At this point it’s not too much to say that the federal judiciary has plunged us into a constitutional crisis. The fusillade of injunctions and temporary restraining orders issued by district court judges in recent weeks against the Trump administration — on everything from foreign aid to immigration enforcement to Defense Department enlistment policy to climate change grants for Citibank — boggles the mind.

More nationwide injunctions and restraining orders have been issued against Trump in the past month that were issued against the Biden administration in four years.

The good news is that by attacking the deep state, Trump has forced it to fight back and expose its true nature, which isn’t that of neutral experts but of politically and ideologically motivated actors.

How state income taxes have changed since 2000

Many states have switched to flat tax rates in the past 25 years, with Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Utah reducing both the rate and multiple brackets to just the one.

However, some argue that flat rates are regressive as it imposes a larger burden on low income households than higher incomes ones. Only two states, Alabama and Virginia, have made no changes.

So, Who Increased Their Tax Rates? Thirteen states and D.C. increased the top rate, with Washington (+7.0 pp) registering the most increase. However Washington’s 7% flat rate is only applicable for earnings from stocks and bond sales that are above $250,000.

If not considering Washington, then New Jersey has seen the highest top rate increase (+4.38pp).

Finally, Massachusetts is the only state that switched from flat to marginal rates: putting in a 9% bracket for income above $1.8 million in a year.

Supreme Court upholds Biden administration's regulations on 'ghost gun' kits

On Wednesday, March 26th, it was announced that the United States Supreme Court has voted to uphold a Biden administration effort to regulate "ghost gun" kits that allow people to easily obtain parts needed to assemble firearms from online sellers.

According to NBC News, the ruling was 7-2, with Justice Neil Gorsuch writing the majority opinion saying that the kits can be regulated under the federal Gun Control Act, saying that the court had "no trouble rejecting" the arguments made by challengers. The decision resolves the legal dispute over whether the kits can be regulated the same way as other firearms.

Ghost Guns are do-it-yourself functional weapons that are often purchased online and marketed by some sellers as easy to assemble. Final home assembly typically requires the use of some readily available tools, including drilling holes and mining or sanding the unfinished frame or receiver, which enable the installation of parts.

Gun rights groups say that the rule is "unconstitutional and abusive," arguing the ghost gun kits consist of "non-firearm objects."

Italy pursues payment from Meta, X and LinkedIn in landmark tax case

Italy has handed tax demands to Meta, X and LinkedIn in an unprecedented VAT claim against the U.S. tech giants that could have repercussions across the European Union, four sources with direct knowledge of the matter said on Wednesday.

While it has been reported that Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta and Elon Musk’s social network X were under investigation for alleged tax fraud, it had not been disclosed that Microsoft’s LinkedIn unit was also caught up in Italy’s pilot VAT case for the tech sector in Europe.

Italy is claiming 887.6 million euros ($961 million) from Meta, 12.5 million euros from X and around 140 million euros from LinkedIn.
These figures refer to the entire period under investigation, from 2015-2016 to 2021-2022, depending on the case, but the tax assessment notice now served only covers the years for which claims are set to expire, namely 2015 and 2016.

The issue is likely to be particularly sensitive given trade tensions between the EU and the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has a good relationship with Musk, who is keen to expand his Starlink communications business in Italy.

North Carolina Supreme Court rules that family can sue over COVID-19 vaccination without consent

A federal law granting broad immunity to vaccine administrators and others does not preempt charges that a mother’s constitutional rights were violated when her son was given a COVID-19 vaccine without her consent, the North Carolina Supreme Court has ruled.

Emily Happel and her teenage son can proceed with a lawsuit against their local school board and a medical organization, according to the March 21 ruling. Happel’s son, who was 14 at the time, was given a COVID-19 vaccine in 2021 even though administrators did not obtain parental consent.

Lower courts found that a federal law, called the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act (PREP Act), preempted claims brought by Happel and Tanner. However, North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul Newby wrote for the majority that the law only provides immunity in situations typically involving tort law, such as serious injury, and not constitutional violations.

The PREP Act, signed in 2005, is triggered when the federal government issues a declaration during a health emergency, which it did during the COVID-19 pandemic. The act says that under a declaration, covered people such as vaccine administrators are protected from “all claims for loss,” with few exceptions.

Courts have generally found that the immunization preempts a range of state-level claims, while the top court in North Carolina concluded that it does not shield people who violated constitutional rights.

Could AI become conscious?

Not long ago, a Google engineer created a stir in the world of artificial intelligence by claiming that its flagship chatbot was sentient. “If I didn’t know exactly what it was, which is this computer program we built recently, I’d think it was a 7-year-old, 8-year-old kid that happens to know physics,” said Blake Lemoine.

“I know a person when I talk to it,” Lemoine told the Washington Post. “It doesn’t matter whether they have a brain made of meat in their head. Or if they have a billion lines of code. I talk to them. And I hear what they have to say, and that is how I decide what is and isn’t a person.”

Google thought that Lemoine was driving out of his lane and put him on paid leave and later sacked him. Google spokesperson Brian Gabriel commented: “Our team — including ethicists and technologists — has reviewed Blake’s concerns per our AI Principles and have informed him that the evidence does not support his claims.

The fact is that many people are quite anxious about the growing power of AI. No wonder Google wanted to hose down the alarming implications of Lemoine’s views. So who is right – Lemoine or Google? Is it time to press the panic button?

An Afghan man had been charged with murder after killing another Afghan for “bad behavior” in a dramatic scene captured on video in France.

Frantic screaming began after witnesses saw a horrific scene develop in front of them on Friday, at around 6:30 p.m. in Bordeaux, France. At Place de la Victoire, a 28-year-old Afghan was stabbed to death by a fellow 27-year-old Afghan national, with the victim splayed on his back as he bled out from his neck.

The suspect, who has been charged with murder, can be seen on the video sitting calmly after the murder.

The attacker reportedly arranged to meet with the victim before murdering him due to the victim’s “bad behavior” towards the suspect’s family in Afghanistan.

UK government has created a tool for the next pandemic or crisis; it maps the location of vulnerable groups for “targeted support”

Jonathan Engler, a British healthcare entrepreneur, has highlighted a national pandemic response exercise due to be held this Autumn.

In response to a report from the UK Covid Inquiry, “Ministers have also set out plans to better support vulnerable groups – such as the elderly or those receiving care – and train thousands of public servants to handle a range of crises, including pandemics,” a UK government press release about the exercise states.

What caught Engler’s eye in particular was the announcement of a Risk Vulnerability Tool created by the Cabinet Office in collaboration with the Office for National Statistics.  By creating a map, the tool is designed to help departments visualise where vulnerable groups of people are located within the UK.

The tool aims to improve understanding of where to find disproportionately impacted groups ahead of and during crises and enable local “targeted support” where it is needed.

What kind of support will these targeted people receive? The same “support” as they received in 2020 such as midazolam?

The shameful silencing of Rangers fans

Football fans are being silenced – again. Scottish Premiership club Rangers FC has disowned some of its supporters after a banner was displayed at Ibrox, the club’s home stadium, during a recent Europa League match. It read: ‘Keep woke foreign ideologies out. Defend Europe.’

The banner appeared in the section of the Copland Road Stand where the Union Bears ultras – possibly Rangers’ most passionate fans – tend to gather. They were there for the second leg of a round-of-16 clash with Turkish club Fenerbahçe. This was a match played under UEFA’s jurisdiction, making the message even more pointed. This wasn’t just a domestic fixture, but one taking place on an international stage and overseen by a governing body increasingly intolerant of ideological dissent.

In a statement released earlier this month, Rangers revealed that UEFA had launched disciplinary proceedings over the banner, describing it as ‘racist and / or discriminatory’. The club also made clear its own righteous disapproval. It publicly disowned the dissenting fans, telling them that ‘Rangers is not the club for you’ and vowing to ‘identify those responsible’ so that ‘they also face consequences’.

Massive Thailand-Myanmar quake triggered by the climate crisis, suggests former Green Party leader

Germany’s former Green Party leader, Simone Peter, suggests that a cause of the huge earthquake in Southeast Asia is a climate change.

Ms. Peter bases her claim on an article that once appeared in the German leftist TAZ newspaper, which reported how a geologist speculated that melting of glaciers could possibly trigger earthquakes.

Ms. Peter reacted to the earthquake: “Wow, the massive quake in Myanmar and Thailand was also measurable in Europe.” … ‘“We know that earthquakes will continue to increase with the climate crisis, this is worrying for many parts of the world.”

Peter’s claim are of course utterly preposterous as there are no glaciers anywhere near Thailand and Myanmar to begin with. Earthquakes are instead caused by moving tectonic plates that have been shifting for hundreds of millions of years.

Tesla protests turn violent: pro-Musk demonstrator struck with car, woman beaten on side of road

With all of the leftwing vitriol against billionaire Elon Musk over his DOGE, violence targeting his supporters was bound to happen. In a disturbing incident, 70-year-old Christopher Talbot of Meridian was arrested after allegedly striking a counter-demonstrator at a Tesla Takedown protest near a Tesla dealership. According to the Meridian Police Department, Talbot is said to have hit a 49-year-old man after making an “obscene gesture” toward the victim around 1:00 pm on Sunday.

The victim, who was reportedly driving a vehicle with a flag in support of President Donald Trump, had parked when Talbot allegedly assaulted him. The victim received medical treatment at a nearby hospital and was later released with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Tesla Takedown protest, consisting of a meager 30 demonstrators, was overshadowed by a counter-protest organized by the Idaho Liberty Dogs, which drew nearly 200 participants. In a hyperbolic social media post, organizers of the anti-Tesla protest declared, "Elon Musk is destroying our democracy, and he's using the fortune he built from Tesla to do it. We are taking action at Tesla to stop Musk's illegal coup," highlighting the intensity of their opposition to Musk's initiatives.

Sour grapes? US winemakers call on Trump to tax aussie wine

The California Association of Winegrape Growers has taken issue with Australia’s 29% tax on imported wine, which it says is one of several “unfair, non-reciprocal trade practices” that disadvantage U.S. wine producers.

The formal complaint has been lodged with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, but the eventual decision will rest with the president, given Trump’s stated determination to impose tariffs as a tool to even out trade relations.

The association alleges that an “influx of cheap, imported bulk wine” into America is causing vineyards and farmers—many of whom have been growing grapes for generations—to go “out of business at an alarming rate.”

The organisation admits the issue is “nuanced,” noting that not only do other countries’ tariffs disadvantage American growers, but many foreign competitors also benefit from lower production costs and “in many cases, generous public subsidies.”

The U.S. wine industry is currently in crisis; numerous reports have outlined declining domestic sales due in part to a lack of interest among younger generations.

Why I’m boycotting AI. And you should, too

By Sam Kahn

We have to collectively boycott artificial-intelligence products while there’s still time. Because AI is no good for us — no good for our minds, creativity, or competence — and as it gets jammed down our throats, we are the only ones with the power to refuse.

Looking back, I understand why I caved to Apple all those years ago. It really would have been social suicide to try to make my way in the 2010s professional class with anything other than a MacBook Pro and an iPhone. Apple really was better than anything else. But I regret that moment, all the same. Every intuition I had knew that opting in to companies like Apple, Google, and Facebook was a fool’s bargain.

AI can only lead to dependence on a technology, which really means dependence on Silicon Valley overlords looking to rip off their customer base. It’s exactly the same dynamic that we’ve all been experiencing and bemoaning for the last 20-odd years. And you can probably plug-and-chug all your own favourite statistics to tease out what that has meant: the average American spending close to five hours a day on his smartphone, while friendship rates have plummeted and teen depression, anxiety, self-harm, and suicidality have spiked.

Chinese government wanted to own another piece of America, this state stopped it

The state of Missouri is swiftly moving to seize farmland and other assets owned by the Chinese government after emerging victorious in a landmark lawsuit.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey told Just the News that the seizure is part of Missouri’s effort to collect a $24 billion civil judgment against the Chinese government after suing it for the harm caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The court’s ruling resulted from Missouri’s lawsuit against the People’s Republican of China and other defendants, including the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The court found that the Chinese Communist Party concealed the severity of the coronavirus by engaging into “a deliberate campaign to suppress information about the COVID-19 pandemic in order to support its campaign to hoard PPE from Missouri and an unsuspecting world.”

Since representatives from the Chinese government did not appear in court, Missouri was awarded over $24 billion. The ruling describes the CCP’s conduct as “classic anticompetitive behavior, except on a country-wide scale,” which allowed Beijing to control supply, inflate prices, and purposefully maintain shortages.

Net Zero blamed for Heathrow shutdown

A British MP today claimed that the drive for Net Zero led to the complete shutdown of Heathrow Airport.

Reform deputy leader Richard Tice claimed in a GB News interview that an aviation expert told him that Heathrow is moving from diesel back-up generators to biomass.

At least 220,000 passengers have been left stranded in Britain and around the world after an electrical fire shut the airport for at least 24 hours - with the level of global travel chaos sparked by the outage being compared to 9/11.

The UK's busiest airport was forced to close last Friday after its main power substation exploded and set alight less than two miles away in the west London suburb of Hayes.

The complete closure of Heathrow due to the loss of just one electrical substation is unprecedented and raises major questions for the airport and the Government. It has also left many stranded travellers raging and reduced to tears.

Mr Tice claimed on GB News: “They had got rid of their diesel generators and had moved towards a biomass generator that was designed not to completely replace the grid but work alongside it. Their net zero compliant backup system has completely failed in its core function at the first time of asking.”

Stardust: 'Mysterious startup is developing a new form of solar geoengineering'

An Israeli–U.S. startup called Stardust “intends to patent its unique aerosol technology for temporarily cooling the planet.”

Formed in 2023, Stardust wants to develop “proprietary geoengineering technology that would help block sun rays from reaching the planet.” The company is based in Israel but incorporated in the United States.

Instead of universities and federal agencies, Stardust wants private companies to drive the development and deployment of “technologies that experts say could have profound consequences for the planet.” The company seeks a “deliberate transformation of the atmosphere” that “has never been done.”

Wired points out that if Stardus’s geoengineering technology goes live, “it will affect the whole world.” The news outlet emphasizes the danger: “If a geoengineering project went awry, for example, it could contribute to air pollution and ozone loss, or have dramatic effects on weather patterns, such as disrupting monsoons in populous South and East Asia.”

Stardust has kept its plans largely secret and “the company has not publicly released details about its technology, its business model, or exactly who works at its company.”

The secretive organization also wants to sell its “proprietary geoengineering technology to governments that are considering making modifications to the global climate—acting like a kind of defense contractor for climate alteration.”

The lies which did terrible damage to America

Obese inmates are smuggling fentanyl into jails thanks to new policy

Washingtons’ obsession with “protecting” inmates has turned jails into fentanyl free-for-alls, where smuggled drugs hidden in body fat are leading to overdoses and near-death emergencies. Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders just exposed the absurd consequences of Washington’s new body scanner regulations, and it’s a perfect case study in how “compassion” gets people killed.

Last week, an obese inmate at Thurston County Jail smuggled fentanyl hidden in body fat folds. Once the drugs made their way in, a different inmate consumed the drugs and overdosed. Life-saving efforts from jail staff prevented the overdose from being fatal.

It shouldn’t be this easy for an obese inmate to allegedly smuggle drugs into jail. But we’re here because of foolish policy decisions dictating the radiation levels of body scanners used prior to entry into jails.

This disaster traces back to a 2022 bill that prioritized banning “dehumanizing” strip searches over jail security. The law required prisons to adopt body scanners but then handed rulemaking to the Department of Health, which cooked up WAC 246-230-040’s unworkable dose limits. As a result, the scanners are so weak they can’t distinguish drugs from body fat.

The new rules under WAC 246-230-040, implemented in January 2025, force scanners to use laughably low radiation levels to appease activists screaming about ‘ALARA’ (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
