OpenAI has acknowledged that using ChatGPT leads people to neglect their loved ones and creates an almost drug-like addiction
The company conducted a large-scale study: they analyzed over 3 million conversations and surveyed more than 4,000 users. Then, nearly 1,000 participants used ChatGPT daily for 28 days in a controlled experiment.
Users who interacted with ChatGPT most frequently became lonelier. They contacted friends and family less often because the AI replaced real-life communication. The most active users showed signs of addiction: pathological attachment, cognitive and emotional disturbances, and a loss of control over their usage time.
Most of these users were unaware of the problem. They highly valued ChatGPT, called it a “friend,” and trusted it more than real people. OpenAI has created tools to identify signs of emotional dependence—similar to those observed in drug addiction.

New Dinosaur Discovered in South Korea
Doolysaurus huhmini is the first new species discovered in the country in the past 15 years. The species lived in what is now Korea between 113 and 94 million years ago, during the middle of the Cretaceous period.
Histological analysis shows that the specimen found was very young, likely around two years old.
“I think it would have been quite cute. Perhaps it looked a bit like a little lamb,” said Professor Julia Clarke, a paleontologist at the University of Texas at Austin.
