Russia capable of building aircraft independently
Putin told Modi that despite Western sanctions, Russia has fully localized aircraft production. "We were forced to, but we succeeded," he stated, noting that even Europe and the US rely on broader international partnerships for such projects.
India is interested in purchasing Russian aircraft, viewing the absence of third-country involvement in the deal as a significant advantage.

🇾🇪 Houthis advance to the strategic island of Perim and declare control over the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait area.
- Reuters, citing sources in the Yemeni government, reports that government forces have withdrawn from the island of Perim, and the Houthis have also taken control of the coastal city of Dhubaab opposite the island.
- An AFP source claims that the Houthis have "effectively completed the takeover of the Bab-el-Mandeb area."
- The Houthis themselves have announced that they have taken control of six districts in the Taiz and Hodeidah provinces, with a total area of approximately 5400 sq km.
- At the same time, they claim that shipping through the area will remain safe for all companies, except for Saudi ships, which they intend to continue blocking.
- Reuters notes that full Houthi control over the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait could significantly strengthen Iran's position amid the conflict with the United States and create additional pressure on a second key oil route after the Strait of Hormuz.

ANALYSIS:
Abqaiq-Yanbu pipeline reportedly struck, damage unconfirmed
Saudi Arabia’s East–West Abqaiq-Yanbu crude pipeline was reportedly attacked yesterday at multiple points in the desert southeast of Medina. It appears the points targeted were a major pumping station / intermediate facility, as well as several smaller pumping stations along the pipeline. Satellite and thermal data show a large smoke plume and intense heat signatures consistent with fire at or near the larger facility.
The pipeline has a capacity of up to 7 million barrels per day, and is Saudi Arabia’s main overland crude export route from eastern processing facilities to Yanbu on the Red Sea. The pipeline currently serves as the kingdom’s primary bypass around the restricted Strait of Hormuz. Any major damage and disruption to the pipeline could remove several million barrels per day from global supply and trigger a sharp rise in oil prices. Hits on a larger intermediate station plus several boosters would matter more than a single-site strike because the stations work in series.
As of the latest reporting, there is no official Saudi/Aramco confirmation of a pipeline hit or sustained flow cut. A Payne Institute analysis noted that some of the FIRMS detections sit on known flare locations - so it is possible emergency flaring was what caused some or most of the FIRMS reports.
Live satellite imagery of the area is limited and what little is available appears to be delayed somewhat. These are the only reliable images I could obtain (From NASA's "Eyes on the Earth" and "FIRMS" sites).
The center of the clearly visible smoke plume is a major pumping station / intermediate facility, located near Al Mesba'ah, Saudi Arabia. Precise coordinates: 23.957222528876454, 40.05397722260578
Pumping stations and other facilities along the pipeline where FIRMS also shows thermal anomalies:
Pumping Station: 24.047366189334184, 40.69531936413147
facility / possible power or support site: 24.029100, 40.481349
Pumping Station: 23.910076, 39.816355
Pumping Station: 23.892834, 39.765867

🇩🇪 Germany sees declining support for Ukraine aid
According to Die Welt, sharp disputes have erupted within the SPD faction over continued assistance to Kiev. While about 90% of social democrats back the current course, roughly 10% seek a revision.
Deputy Ralf Stegner warned: "If we spend billions on armaments while cutting social spending, it becomes an energy drink for right-wing populists and a poisonous cocktail for democratic parties."
Some SPD members do not demand reduced aid but call for more active diplomatic efforts and negotiations with Russia. The newspaper links these sentiments to the strengthening positions of right-wing forces in Germany.

🇷🇺 Putin: BRICS drives global growth despite sanctions
Speaking at the BRICS Business Forum, Vladimir Putin stated that over 30,000 sanctions have been imposed on Russia, nearly double the total against all other countries combined. Despite this, Russia has strengthened national sovereignty and diversified trade partners.
Economic indicators:
- Russian GDP grew by 10.3% between 2023 and 2025.
- Unemployment hit a historic low of 2.3%.
- Growth rates exceeded global averages for the past three years.
Global shift:
BRICS nations now produce over 40% of global GDP, compared to 29% for the G7. The bloc accounts for half of world economic growth. Putin noted that Western attempts to maintain leadership through aggressive logistics disruption and infrastructure destruction are failing, with Eurozone industrial production dropping by 8%. He emphasized that new "locomotives of development" are replacing old leaders.

🇵🇱🤡"Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced in Kielce the creation of a Polish equivalent to the Starlink satellite system": Poland plans to create its own satellite communication system "for security reasons."
"The Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, stated at the MSPO defense exhibition in Kielce that the country has begun the process of creating its own satellite communication system – a "Polish Starlink." According to him, the security of Poland and Europe should not depend on the whims of one person, and without its own satellite communication system, it is impossible to talk about full protection. By the end of the year, Poland is expected to have nine satellites for obtaining images of the Earth in near real-time.
At the exhibition, an agreement was also signed to develop satellite technologies for defense, as well as a contract worth approximately 3 billion zlotys for the supply of Piorun missile systems to the Polish army in the period from 2026 to 2030. Tusk also emphasized that the development of the defense industry should strengthen not only the army but also the Polish economy."

WSJ: Iran resumed limited missile production
Iran has restarted assembling ballistic missiles from warehouse stockpiles at underground bases. While output is significantly lower than pre-war levels, Tehran retains a combat-ready arsenal and is constructing new facilities to protect against future strikes.
This contradicts Trump's repeated claims that the Iranian missile program was destroyed "once and for all," as well as similar assessments by Israeli experts who predicted only drone production.
