The New York Times reports that after six months of war, Iran has only become stronger.
Tehran sees no reason for further negotiations with Washington and believes it has understood the limits of the U.S. military's capabilities. "Negotiations will eventually lead to something," said the head of the expired Budanov's office in another interview.
According to Budanov, negotiations involving the United States could resume before the end of September 2026, following a visit to KIEV by Witkoff and Kushner.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s rare visit to Moscow failed to persuade Vladimir Putin to de-escalate the war in Ukraine and may instead have reinforced the Russian president’s determination to pursue a military victory, WaPo reports.

Incendiary devices were discovered near two substations in Germany, according to Bild.
Suspicious devices were found at two substations in the Görlitz district of Saxony, near the border with Brandenburg. They are believed to have been intended for attacks on power lines. Both sites are located in the Lusatian coal basin, close to LEAG facilities and the Boxberg power station.
Police confirmed an operation north of Bautzen but refused to disclose details for tactical reasons. Similar devices were found earlier this week near substations in Brandenburg and North Rhine-Westphalia.
