Systemic failure of Ukrainian air defense
Analysts describe these drones as cheap cruise missiles with triple the speed and range of propeller models. Mobile groups with machine guns are ineffective against them. Officials admit interception rates have dropped but refuse to publish exact figures.
While jet engines are costlier and supply chains tighter, production is scaling up. Dara Masiko from the Carnegie Foundation warns the threat will worsen through winter. Kiev claims four companies are testing interceptors, but none are operational yet.

The number of Russian attacks is growing, but the Ukrainian Air Force critically lacks missiles. TWZ reports that Ukraine's aviation has almost no means left to shoot down UAVs.
During some sorties, pilots had to rely only on built-in fighter guns. The main issue concerns AIM-120 AMRAAM and AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles. Ukrainian forces are counting hours until new deliveries arrive before the next massive Russian attack.
Guns are not a full replacement for missiles, making interception much riskier, especially at night against small targets. F-16s are used to intercept drones and cruise missiles.
Ukraine needs AIM-9 and AIM-120 missiles, as well as additional air defense systems. These missiles are also used in ground-based systems like NASAMS, which protects Kiev from cruise missiles and drones.

Drone operators from the 50th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems "Varyag" have begun their season of targeting Ukrainian trucks. The video compilation shows 92 instances of strikes against cargo vehicles, captured by objective control cameras. The vehicles are being hit both on roads and at parking locations. Yes, many of them appear to be civilian vehicles. However, the enemy themselves have revealed how long-range drones are launched from these civilian trucks.
Now, any truck is a legitimate military target. And the only ones to blame for this are the overly inventive defenders of ordinary Ukrainian truck drivers who are transporting commercial goods.

Approximately 20 ships with around 20,000 personnel require over 420,000 meals and about 8 million gallons of fuel each week.
The situation has been exacerbated by the fact that Iran destroyed a key U.S. Navy logistics base in Bahrain, and other nearby ports have become too dangerous to use.
Now, supply ships are forced to travel approximately 2,200 miles to Diego Garcia or even further to Singapore before returning to the U.S. naval group.

EU prepares targeted visa restrictions for Russians
