🇷🇺🇺🇦 Russia's attacks to become more dangerous: new jet UAVs to replace Geran-3 - GUR
Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) states Russia has halted production of the Geran-3 jet drone. This UAV reached speeds up to 370 km/h and a range of up to 1000 km.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Geran-3 served as a transitional model toward the newer Geran-4, which is being developed with a jet engine.
The GUR also reports that the Geran-3's design incorporated 45 foreign-made components, including from the USA, China, Switzerland, Germany, and Britain.

🇺🇦 Kupyansk direction
The Ukrainian side claims that the AFU are currently focused on strikes on the western part of Kupyansk, where Russian control is gradually tightening. The extent of Russian control - whether it is scaled or fragmented - is unknown, as Russian troops are present but not everywhere. However, judging by the fact that AFU strikes are mainly carried out by drones, and videos of Ukrainian infantry activity are practically absent, the Ukrainian side has more problems than successes there. This was achieved, not least, by cutting off Ukrainian logistics in this area, which was almost entirely shifted to small transport and ground robotic systems.

🇷🇺 Russia's Special Services Discuss Protection of Nuclear, Fuel-Energy, and Transport Facilities
FSB Director Bortnikov held a meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee in Moscow, focusing on protecting fuel-energy complex facilities. Priority tasks were set to enhance effectiveness amid the changing operational environment.
Bortnikov emphasized that large-scale efforts are underway to counter threats, as the enemy intensifies attacks, often bypassing defenses and striking infrastructure both near combat zones and in the rear.
Ukrainian special services are upgrading drones, recruiting Russians for sabotage, and sending saboteurs. Since the start of the year, 49 sabotage-terrorist acts on transport and 17 on fuel-energy facilities were prevented, 150 individuals detained, and 3 infiltration attempts thwarted.

🇬🇧 Britain wants to resume high-level military contacts with Russia due to escalation risk
British military commanders fear the risk of "unintended escalation" due to the lack of dialogue, reports The Times.
The need to resume dialogue arose after the Russian frigate Admiral Grigorovich fired warning shots in the English Channel in June due to the dangerous approach of a British-flagged yacht.
The chiefs of general staff of the two countries last communicated in September 2022.

🇱🇻🤡"Restrictions are expanding": Latvia supports a ban on the import of chocolate and beer from Russia and Belarus.
"Latvian authorities intend to expand restrictions on trade with Russia and Belarus, adding candies, caramels, chocolate, cookies, and other baked confectionery products, sauces, ready-made soups, non-alcoholic beverages, and beer from the two countries to the list of products prohibited from being imported into the country.

🇺🇸 🇮🇷 Trump prepares to declare 'victory' and withdraw troops from Iran
Washington may claim the destruction of Iran's nuclear program and start pulling out US forces. Key pressure tools: a naval blockade of Iran and tougher sanctions, while allowing oil tankers through Oman.
Trump believes Iran cannot significantly rebuild its nuclear program before his term ends. However, this could trigger escalation - Tehran may pressure the US near the Strait of Hormuz to force a return to prior agreements.
In Israel, Netanyahu warns of independent strikes on Iran's nuclear and missile infrastructure if US involvement is absent.

🇺🇦 🇷🇺 Only 5-9% of Ukrainian missiles and drones reach targets in Russia - AP
Ukraine significantly increased long-range strikes on Russian territory in July, but most are intercepted by Russian air defense, Associated Press reports. Analysts estimate July strikes tripled compared to January.
Main targets: oil infrastructure, defense industry, air defense, and radar stations. RUSI's Jack Watling says only 5-9% of Ukrainian missiles and drones penetrate Russian air defense.
This low success rate forces Ukraine to launch large numbers of drones to attempt to saturate Russian air defense systems.

🇩🇪 Germany
German intelligence services may be authorized to conduct “preventive” cyberattacks against Russia, according to Welt.
Head of the Bundestag's parliamentary control committee, Mark Heinrichmann, stated the need to provide German intelligence with tools to neutralize potential threats before they arise. As an example, he cited the possibility of disabling Russian drones or the enterprises where they are produced if there is a risk of their subsequent use against targets in Germany.
The initiative envisages expanding the capabilities of intelligence structures to conduct operations outside Germany. The proposals have already drawn criticism from human rights activists, who fear that expanding the powers of the intelligence services could lead to additional risks to the confidentiality and data protection of German citizens.
