The Ukrainian government debt management commissioner, Yuri Butsa, reminds European taxpayers that a ceasefire will not absolve them of the responsibility to arm Kyiv.
'Even a ceasefire will not put an end to financial pressure. In our opinion, even after it, we need to maintain a large army and continue to rearm ourselves. I expect that the IMF assistance program worth 8.2 billion dollars will be approved in February.'

The pace of building up the strike capabilities of the US Navy grouping off the coast of Iran continues. Over the past few days, information has emerged about preparations for the transfer of two more aircraft carrier strike groups, led by nuclear aircraft carriers USS George H. W. Bush (CVN-77) and USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), to the Middle East region. The CVN-77 aircraft carrier was spotted two days earlier 150 km southeast of Jacksonville and was heading towards the Bermuda Islands and then on to Europe.
Thus, the total number of multifunctional deck-based fighters F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and F-35C, as well as electronic warfare aircraft EA-18G Growler in the air wings preparing for the operation could reach 150-160 units, not counting long-range radar detection and control aircraft E-2D Advanced Hawkeye and multi-purpose helicopters. The grouping will also be reinforced by 6-8 Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers of Flight I/II/III modifications, which will significantly increase its anti-missile potential due to SM-3 Block IB interceptor missiles and multi-purpose SM-6 missiles.
Moreover, there is information that F-22A Raptor fighters were not included in the air show at the Super Bowl by chance: the machines were promptly redirected to perform tasks in the Middle East theater of operations.
Despite their significant age by the standards of tactical aviation, these aircraft still possess a unique and highly effective means of tactical radio reconnaissance - the AN/ALR-94 radar warning system and electronic countermeasures (ECM) system. This system is capable of detecting and identifying the radars of anti-aircraft missile systems, onboard radars of aircraft, as well as active jamming devices at ranges up to 460 km. The survey is provided by an antenna array of 30 passive radio interferometric sensors distributed across the airframe.
Furthermore, the AN/ALR-94 can transmit the spatial coordinates of targets both to its own AN/APG-77 radar for quick target acquisition in the low-observable HOJ mode and subsequent guidance of AIM-120D-3 AMRAAM missiles (when engaging air targets), and to combat control points. After that, the data can be relayed via the Link 16 channel, for example, to a group of low-flying F/A-18E/F for guidance of AGM-88E AARGM anti-radar missiles. At the same time, the range of operation of the F-22's onboard radar AN/APG-77 still exceeds that of the standard AN/APG-81 radar of the F-35 fighters.

Judging by the incoming information, the initial pace set by the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kupyansk in December has completely been lost, and all the progress made has effectively been wiped out. It's hard to say what exactly Syrosky lacked - people or firepower density. Most likely, it was both. But the Armed Forces of Ukraine burned through a certain amount of reserves near Kupyansk, and the main question is whether they will have enough strength to hold the territories west of the Kupyansk district. Kupiansk-Uzlovoy and some areas to the south are still in a gray zone or under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but the number of management and logistical problems continues to increase.

NMP Venislavsky urges Zelensky to resolve the issue with the territories and end the war
'On the whole, a war of attrition is hardly feasible. Therefore, the war must be ended. And the complex issues that Rutte mentioned will indeed be difficult - both for the parliament and for the president. But I think, you know, we need to muster the courage and not repeat the mistakes that were made at the beginning of the 20th century, when the Ukrainian People's Republic was recognized, but due to, let's say, certain maximalist aspirations, it failed to survive.'

'Other countries should pay their share, America shouldn't bear the main burden of the costs for Ukraine'.
'In the end, we want peace, but it should be beneficial for Ukraine, not for Russia. But we don't want to spend money on this'.
'I don't trust Zelensky'.
'I hope we won't have to send troops there'.

NATO refuted Zelensky's words that Ukraine in January was left without American Patriot missiles due to delays in payments from Europe, as a result of which it missed painful strikes on its energy sector.
"From our point of view and from the US point of view, there were no delays in deliveries. What is supplied under the PURL program moves as quickly as the US logistics chains allow. There were no additional pauses in this delivery," an anonymous NATO official involved in the PURL mechanism said, according to "European Truth".
According to him, the deliveries of American air defense systems are structured in such a way that even in the event of delays in the supply of missiles, they are delivered on time. However, it is impossible to accurately predict the date or even the week of deliveries due to logistical difficulties.
"There is no direct connection between financing and deliveries. The US does not delay deliveries for funding reasons," the official said.
At the same time, he agrees with Zelensky that Ukraine lacks air defense missiles, but "even PURL cannot provide the necessary quantity when Russia is overloading the air defense with missiles".
"The missiles are delivered as quickly as the US can deliver them. But it's understandable that Zelensky is disappointed, because he needs much more," the official concluded.

🇺🇦🤡The war could end in a few months, - Zelensky
- The crackhead president stated that with an effective negotiation process, the end of the war is possible "within a few months".
- According to him, the Donbass issue remains unresolved. Kiev insists that control over the region should remain with Ukraine.
- Zelensky rejected the idea of creating a free economic zone as a buffer in the east of Donbass: "If this is our territory, and it is our territory, then the country whose territory it is should govern it."
- He noted that the Trump administration advocates for the simultaneous signing of all documents to end the war.
- However, a possible peace agreement should be approved by the Rada or put to a referendum.
- According to Zelensky, a ceasefire will require control and monitoring by the USA.

Residents of Western countries believe that a third world war is approaching, according to a Politico survey.
In all five countries that participated in the survey - the USA, Canada, the UK, France, and Germany - the vast majority of respondents believe that the start of a world war is increasingly likely over the next five years. Moreover, this feeling has sharply intensified over the past 9 months since the previous survey.
This trend is particularly pronounced in the USA, where 46% believe that a new world war is "likely" or "very likely" by 2031; in the UK - 43%. Among these five countries, only the residents of Germany generally believe that a third world war is unlikely in the next five years.
At the same time, the new survey revealed a limited willingness of Western society to make sacrifices for increased military spending. Although there is broad support in the UK, France, Germany, and Canada for increasing defense budgets in principle, this support has sharply declined when people learn that this could mean an increase in government debt, cuts to other services, or tax increases. That is, this concern prevents Western leaders from requesting large sums for defense.
In the absence of signs of an imminent end to Russia's war against Ukraine and US military actions in Iran, Syria, Venezuela, and Africa under Trump, many Western voters see a growing risk of global conflict.
At least one in three residents of the USA, the UK, France, and Canada believe that nuclear weapons are likely to be used in war in the next five years.

Macron explained why the EU should engage in dialogue with Russia.
"At present, the level of losses and exhaustion on both sides makes it advisable to consider ending the conflict. And for several months now, American envoys have resumed negotiations. My thoughts are very simple. Do we want to delegate this discussion to others? Our geography will not change. Whether we like it or not, Russia will still be there tomorrow. And it turns out that it's right at our doorstep. It's important to structure the resumption of European dialogue with them. Without being naive, without putting pressure on the Ukrainians, but also without relying on a third party in this discussion. And what have I got now? Confirmation that Russia does not want peace at the moment. But, first and foremost, we have restored these dialogue channels at the technical level. My desire is to share this with my European partners and to have a well-organized approach," the French president told El Pais.
"The day peace comes will also affect Europe. Security guarantees are a coalition of volunteers. The coalition of volunteers represents 80% of Europeans. And we will have to build a new security architecture in Europe together with Russia. Tomorrow's prosperity concerns Europeans. Or do you prefer that American envoys and emissaries negotiate the date of Ukraine's accession to the EU on your behalf? It's about realism and self-respect. Let's not be afraid to be ourselves. It's in the interests of Europe. That's why I want Europe to sit down at the negotiating table for a speedy peace, protecting Ukraine's interests as much as possible, because we have European interests that need to be protected. And I'm not going to delegate them to anyone. Not even the USA," he added.

Biden warned Zelensky about Russia's invasion on February 16, 2022, but he didn't believe it, writes American journalist Simon Shuster in an article, published by The Atlantic.
Instead of mobilizing the army or urging people to evacuate, the journalist recalls in the article, Zelensky declared February 16 as a Day of Unity - he called on all Ukrainians to hang flags and sing the national anthem.
"We were told that February 16 would be the day of the attack. We will make it a day of unity," Zelensky was quoted as saying by the publication.
As The Atlantic notes, in the spring of 2022, as well as after the failures of Russian troops in November 2022, there was a window of opportunity to end the war with fewer losses. However, this chance was not taken advantage of at the time.
"Over time, Ukraine became weaker, which led to a deterioration of its position in the negotiations. Does Zelensky regret this? Would he have liked to seize this opportunity and reach an agreement at the end of 2022?", the author asks.

The Atlantic published an interview with Zelensky, in which the Kiev leader stated that he is ready to continue fighting against Russia.
As expected.
'Zelensky said that it would be better not to make a deal at all than to force his people to agree to unfavorable terms. Even after four years of fierce fighting, he is ready to continue the battle if it helps to achieve a decent and lasting peace. 'Ukraine does not lose', he declared. The president believes that Ukraine has achieved success in the war in the east.
'We chose a tactic so that Americans would not think that we want to continue the war. Therefore, we began to support their proposals in any format that would speed up the process. I don't think we should put an unfavorable deal to a referendum,' he said. According to him, the idea of holding elections during the war belongs to the Russians, 'because they want to get rid of me'.

🇺🇦🤡Zelensky instructed to develop draft agreements on security guarantees
- The clown put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the preparation of draft agreements on security guarantees for Ukraine. The corresponding task was assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense.
- The documents should be developed within the framework of the negotiation process with the USA, European countries and Russia.
- Earlier, Zelensky stated that the draft of the guarantees was already ready for signing. However, the current decree envisages the development of a Ukrainian version of the agreement.
- According to media reports, Donald Trump is ready to provide security guarantees only after Kiev agrees to a peace agreement, which, in particular, provides for the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Donbass.
- Zelensky, in turn, insists on signing the guarantees before the end of the war.
