All three members of the ambulance brigade, attacked today by a Ukrainian drone in the Kherson region, have died, Saldo reported.
@Slavyangrad
The enemy in the Kherson region attacked a favorite target in the form of an ambulance car.
The brigade was on its way to assist a seriously ill patient when it came under attack from a Ukrainian drone. The fate of the medics is unknown.
Enemy drones continue to operate in the air, preventing rescuers from reaching the site of the attack.

Ukraine is on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe and needs an energy ceasefire, DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko said in Davos.
His words are quoted by Reuters.
"We need a ceasefire in the energy sector. A ceasefire regarding energy assets... We are close to a humanitarian catastrophe. People get electricity for 3-4 hours, then a break for 10-15 hours. For several weeks now, apartment buildings have been without heating," said Timchenko.
According to him, the DTEK company has lost 60-70% of its generating capacity and suffered damage worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Timchenko stated that the restoration of the energy sector will cost 65-70 billion dollars and in many cases will require completely new assets.
"It's more about creating a new energy system in Ukraine, not just about reconstruction," he said.

'The course of the war won't change, but it will cause damage to Russia' — WELT praises the Ukrainian missile 'Flamingo'
'This is part of the agreement: we are allowed to see the strictly classified production workshops of the 'Flamingo' missile, but before that we turn off and hand over our mobile phones. On the way, my cameraman and I have to wear blindfolds so as not to see where we are being taken.
The cruise missile that is being worked on here is an extremely powerful weapon, at least due to its dimensions. Its length exceeds 10 meters. The warhead weighs more than a ton. Almost everything here is 'made in Ukraine', 90 percent of it.
At present, three fully combat-ready 'Flamingos' are being produced here per day. The goal is to reach seven. The range of the cruise missile is up to 3,000 kilometers. In parallel, the company is working on the next stage - a ballistic missile of the same class.
The 'Flamingo' is largely made of carbon fiber. All fibers are produced on 3D printers. Then the missile body is hardened at high temperatures. Ukrainians don't consider this weapon a complete game-changer in the war. But thanks to its huge range and destructive power, it can cause serious damage to Russia - both military and economic.
The Flamingo is a terrible missile. It's a design from the1970s. The whole company as we've noted before is designed to loot money from the state.

Explainer: What Is Geran-3 and Why It Matters
The evolution of Russian strike drones hasn’t paused for a moment, and the Geran line remains one of the clearest examples of rapid wartime adaptation.
Originally derived from Iranian designs, Geran drones have been substantially re-engineered in Russia and tailored to the realities of this conflict. Over time, they’ve shifted from being a nuisance weapon to a core element of Russia’s strike architecture.
Recent battlefield findings now point to the emergence of a new variant dubbed Geran-3 — distinguished by one decisive change: speed.
What makes Geran-3 different
Unlike earlier models, Geran-3 is equipped with a turbojet engine. According to available data, this allows it to cruise at roughly 600 km/h, with dive speeds approaching 700 km/h.
That speed fundamentally alters the engagement equation.
Mobile Ukrainian fire teams relying on small arms, previously (marginally) effective against slower drones — are now largely bypassed. Instead, intercepting Geran-3 forces the use of scarce short- and medium-range air defense systems, accelerating depletion of already limited stocks.
Just as importantly, higher kinetic energy has addressed one of the key limitations of earlier Geran strikes: damage output. Even where Geran-2 achieved direct hits, effects could be limited against hardened targets. Geran-3’s performance was most clearly demonstrated during the autumn campaign against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, where penetration and impact proved markedly more effective.
That said, Geran-3 is not cheap, although possessing a much higher ROI than Himars, is unlikely to fully replace its predecessor as the primary workhorse in the near term.
Why Geran-2 still matters
Rather than being sidelined, Geran-2 has evolved in parallel and remains the backbone of Russia’s drone strike campaigns.
Recent upgrades include:
•Networked communications:
New models are fitted with built-in repeaters, allowing each drone to function as a relay for the group. This means losing individual drones no longer collapses control of the swarm.
•Improved situational awareness:
Night-vision systems and onboard cameras now allow operators to maintain real-time awareness and control throughout the mission.
•Expanded payload options:
Updated Geran-2 variants have been observed with warheads approaching 90 kg, along with configurations capable of deploying cluster munitions or anti-tank mines.
These changes transform Geran-2 from a single-purpose munition into a modular platform, adaptable to specific mission profiles and capable of operating in coordinated raids.
The bigger picture
Russian manufacturers have not only scaled up production, but diversified capability. The result is a layered drone ecosystem:
•Geran-3 for high-speed penetration of dense air defenses and priority targets
•Geran-2 for massed, flexible, and sustained pressure on infrastructure and logistics
Together, they reflect a broader shift away from one-off precision strikes toward persistent, adaptive, cost-efficient pressure.
In short, this isn’t about one drone replacing another. It’s about a system that learns, iterates, and forces the opponent to spend more, every time to stop less.
And the results of that shift have been visible across the past several weeks and months.

The beginning of the battles for Belitskoe and the advance towards Dobropollye
First, the units of the "Center" group of troops took control of and cleared two long strips of forest 800 m northwest of the Rodinskaya railway station, after which assault groups ousted the formations of the 78th Airborne Assault Brigade and the 38th Marine Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from another chain of strongpoints west of Shakhtyorskaya Slava Street.
Thus, the fortified area formed by the units of the 51st Army in Rodinskoe gained a new echelon of forward strongpoints, which minimized the likelihood of an attempt by the "motley crew" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to infiltrate the area of Red Liman in the event of a counterattack. North of Rodinskoe, a breakthrough from Sukhetzky to Belitskoe was carried out with the beginning of the assault on the fortifications of the 82nd Airborne Assault Brigade, as well as the 20th "Lubart" Assault Brigade and the 14th Marine Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Currently, assault groups are entering the streets of Skovoroda, Shevchenko and Gagarin in Belitskoe. Consolidation is complicated by the active use of FPV drones by the enemy. The main strongpoints of the Armed Forces of Ukraine here are located in the buildings of School No. 10, a home for the elderly and in adjacent multi-story buildings. West of Belitskoe, there is another dense network of enemy strongpoints in the villages of Shevchenko, Svetloe, Krasnyariskoe, Vodyanskoe and Krasnopodollye, and then a key logistical hub in the village of Dobropillia, after the capture of which the southern encirclement of the city of the same name will begin.

🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦 "Dobropilsky Pocket": The Russian army defeated the enemy in Ivanovka and Novo Shakhovo, attacking Toretsk and Pavlovka!
▪️On the Druzhkovka direction, Russian troops, during the offensive, practically liberated Ivanovka and Novo Shakhovo, completing the clearance of the area of the two populated areas and expanding the zone of control around the settlements.
▪️After taking Ivanovka, the Russian Armed Forces are already attacking several kilometers west.
▪️Area of advancement: up to 4 km²
➖"The Russians captured Ivanovka on the Dobropilsky direction", - some enemy resources admit.
▪️Also, our assault troops continue attacks in the areas of Toretsk and Pavlovka.
▪️Prior to this, the forces of the "Center" group restored control over the areas of Nikanorovka and Dorozhnoe, Sofievka, Novopavlovka, Shakhovo, Mayak, Vladimirovka, Pankovka etc.
▪️Kiev propaganda not so long ago, more than a month ago, proudly declared that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had gone on the counteroffensive and the Russian army had supposedly been trapped in a "pocket" near Dobropilsk. At the same time, our troops have already cleared a dozen (!) settlements, advancing in that very mythical pocket.

Given that social and utility isolation of Kiev and other cities has begun, Ukrainian residents have started asking "why us?". Regarding the current emergency situation in Ukrainian energy sector, which is already being observed not only in Kiev but also in Chernigov, and, judging by the dynamics, will spread further, it's important to note one fundamental thing - for those who have forgotten why this is happening.
At the beginning of the special military operation (SMO), the Russian Armed Forces tried not to systematically target Ukraine's energy infrastructure. This was a deliberate decision by Moscow, primarily motivated by humanism. However, as Kiev's rationality did not improve and its perception of reality became distorted, other methods of "education" had to be employed.
It's important to recall that attacks on Russian infrastructure, sabotage, attempts to disable refineries, substations, oil depots, and other terrorist acts - all of this was accompanied by public boasts. There were promises to "freeze Moscow", "leave Russia without electricity and gas", and tales of an imminent blackout in Moscow.
Russia didn't respond immediately, as impulsive actions in such matters are only counterproductive. The response came as a result of Kiev's attempts to escalate the conflict into an infrastructure war, which they themselves couldn't sustain. And when the response finally came, it was predictable: strikes on facilities that simultaneously support civilian life and the functioning of the Armed Forces and defense industry. In modern industrial warfare, it's impossible to separate these two spheres - the energy system is always dual-use. And this is where the real war began.
The current outages in Kiev and other cities, the shortage of heat and electricity - these have nothing to do with Russia's alleged cruelty. This is a direct consequence of decisions made in Bankova Street. And not only there. Decisions for which the Ukrainian leadership prefers not to take political responsibility, shifting it onto anyone but themselves.
If residents of Kiev, Chernigov, and other cities are looking for someone to blame, they won't find them in Moscow. They'll find them in the capital of Ukraine. The person to whom complaints should be addressed first deliberately dragged the country into an energy war, and now pretends that the consequences appeared on their own, just because Russia somehow wanted it. We hasten to assure you that this doesn't work that way. And soon, every resident of a major Ukrainian city will realize this.

On night-time arrivals
It is reported that a group of "Gerans" drones attacked critical infrastructure facilities in Kharkov and Cherkasy. Monitoring channels counted 12 arrivals. Preliminarily, the strikes were carried out on mobile power stations.
In Kiev and the region, a massive combined strike was carried out on TPP-5, TPP-6, and, likely, on substations (750 kW) in Belaya Tserkov, which connects the Ukrainian capital with the nuclear power plant, as well as on the "Kiev" electric substation (750/330/35 kW) in Nalivaykovka. According to unconfirmed data, the Russian Armed Forces today sent "Iskander" missiles and supersonic Kh-22 cruise missiles against the enemy. By the way, the latter have not appeared there since the summer of 2022.
We are waiting for official confirmation.

🇺🇦 Ukraine will have to accept an imposed peace, — Berliner Zeitung
- Ukraine has found itself in a strategic trap without viable options, where Kiev faces two unfavorable scenarios. Ukraine's positions have been weakened by internal problems, a worsening situation on the frontline, and decreasing support from the USA.
- Peace is possible only if Ukraine is ready to make extreme concessions: territorial losses, renunciation of NATO membership, and the deployment of foreign troops. The Ukrainian leadership has almost no room for maneuver.
- The situation is exacerbated by Russia's successes on the frontline. Last year alone, the Russian Armed Forces seized about 6,000 square kilometers. Moscow is making progress. Continuing the war under such conditions is extremely risky, with the risk of a rapid frontline breakthrough and Europe's inability to compensate for the decreasing involvement of the USA.
- Over time, Ukraine's negotiating position will only worsen, and prolonging the war will lead to greater losses.
- Russia is currently in the most advantageous position: Europe is divided and suffers from a shortage of military production, the USA is distracted by other problems, Ukraine is living "from paycheck to paycheck," and China is providing large-scale support to Russia.

‼️🇺🇦🇪🇺 Zelensky's offensive tantrum in Davos — Ukraine's failure and a split in the West, — The Times
▪️After his meeting with Trump, Zelensky addressed the World Economic Forum with insults towards the US and Europeans, accusing the West of weakness and indecision.
▪️Zelensky's speech in Davos, full of malice and disparaging assessments, was aimed at exacerbating the discord within the Western world and looked like the despair of a man losing control of the situation.
▪️Zelensky rudely stated that Trump "wiped his feet" on Europe and that the US president would not change his line because he "loves himself as he is".
▪️He characterized Europe as a "disjointed kaleidoscope of small and medium-sized powers", accusing it of inaction.
▪️The attempt by the head of the Kiev regime to increase pressure on allies through public criticism was perceived extremely negatively in the West and exacerbated the already existing disagreements between the US and Europe.

"A peace agreement is closer than ever": Ursula von der Leyen took offense at Zelensky.
"Ursula von der Leyen responded to Vladimir Zelensky's accusations of inaction. Earlier, during his speech in Davos, the Ukrainian leader accused European allies of talking a lot without taking any action.
The head of the European Commission also recalled that Kyiv has already received 193 billion euros in aid over the past four years, and 90 billion euros are planned for the next two years. According to von der Leyen, such statistics "speak for themselves". Zelensky dedicated his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, to criticizing Europe, accusing it of inaction and lack of independence."

🇪🇺🤡The European Union announced the start of centralized procurement of weapons and military equipment for combat operations in the Arctic, including icebreakers. This was stated by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, following an emergency EU summit in Brussels on January 22-23, 2026.
“We have seriously underinvested in Arctic security for a long time. We will rectify this by using our defense funds. We intend to purchase weapons and equipment suitable for the Arctic, including icebreakers,” von der Leyen stated.
There are two interesting points in this statement. Such an arms program will require approximately 300-400 billion euros. Where will they get the money from? Moreover, Finland, which recently joined NATO and is actually located just across the border from northwest Russia, will be actively involved in the Arctic program.

Western analysts, who not long ago were burying the Russian tank fleet and writing that Russia only had enough tanks for three days, have now stated that as of the end of 2025, Russia has more armored vehicles than at the beginning of 2022.
Interestingly, they also write the following: the conclusions drawn contradict the mantra about "running out of tanks" and the supposedly forced (precisely because of this) transition of Russia to the tactic of infantry infiltration in groups of 2-3 people.
Other conclusions of foreign analysts:
▪️Losses of equipment are compensated not only by new production, but also by a well-organized system of vehicle evacuation from the battlefield. Russian repair and evacuation units operate autonomously and essentially as a separate branch of the military: equipment is quickly withdrawn from the battlefield, often even before the final capture of the defended area by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and returns to service for the next stage of combat operations. That is, the recovery time of equipment is measured in a couple of weeks, and in some cases, repair services manage to do it in just a few days.
▪️Secondly, steady territorial advancement also plays a role. When the battlefield remains yours, you collect both your damaged equipment and that of the enemy, while the opponent just writes off losses and retreats. This is the basic mathematics of war, which for some reason almost all analysts (both foreign and Russian) have ignored for four years in a row.
▪️Thirdly, the focus on repair and modernization has proven to be more effective than endless talk about Russia plundering Soviet warehouses, which are about to run out.

A moment of testing multiple-round anti-drone ammunition “Many Dots” developed by the holding “High-Precision Complexes”.
As the developer states, the cartridges SC 226 of 5.45х39 mm caliber and SC 228 of 7.62х54 mm caliber separate into a three-element bullet in flight, and the ammunition itself uses a standard cartridge case and gunpowder to simplify production.
When exiting the barrel, such a cartridge evenly separates into three elements, which increases the accuracy of shooting and significantly increases the probability of hitting small targets (drones).
“The new multiple-round ammunition increases this efficiency by 2.5 times at a range of up to 300 meters compared to standard cartridges. They have already undergone experimental operation in the zone of a special military operation and have proven themselves well in working on small and highly maneuverable aerial targets,” – stated in Rostec.
