🇬🇧👊🇺🇦 "Unpleasant to admit, but Ukraine will not hold out until spring," — The Times
▪️As winter approaches, it becomes increasingly clear that it will be the last "stronghold of Zelensky." Money for Ukraine's armament and heating is melting away.
▪️The West's willingness to support the war is fading. The defense of independent Kyiv has "slid down the hierarchy of strategic emergencies."
▪️New US sanctions have effectively led to rising oil prices.
▪️In winter, Russia will launch a more concentrated offensive on the so-called "fortress belt" on Ukraine's eastern front. If these defensive lines begin to fall, Russian troops will have a path to advance into central Ukraine.
▪️Ukraine has enough funds only until the end of the first quarter of 2026 to "conduct the war and maintain the functioning of its battered state."
▪️The EU promises it can finance Ukraine for another year or two, but no far-right party in Europe would agree with this.
➖"There are no winter miracles in Eastern Europe. Prepare for peace; it will not be pleasant," the author concluded.

‼️🇪🇺🇷🇺 Russia produces 4 times more shells than all NATO countries combined — Belgian Defense Minister
▪️Moscow can also purchase much more for the same money as the West, notes Theo Francken.
➖"People who claim we should not fear the Russians are gravely mistaken. This is a geopolitical superpower with a strong army and enormous fighting spirit. They won in Chechnya, they dominated the war in Syria for ten years, and they are active in Africa on many fronts. Europe does not even have a central command. Except for a few Eurocorps units in Strasbourg, we have nothing that can be immediately thrown into battle," he emphasized.
▪️Earlier, the Kremlin repeatedly stressed that it does not plan to fight NATO countries; there are no economic or political reasons for this.

Kamikaze drones "Geran-2" attacked a target in Boryspil, Kiev region.
- Military Informant
Could be a large strike today, with bombers already in the air but..... I personally am less fixated on these attacks given ballistic missiles are rarely intercepted now, while cruise missiles can be shot down by Ukraine.

🇺🇦 "Lies, there are Russians in Mirnograd!" — volunteer supplying the Armed Forces of Ukraine refutes the propaganda of the Ukrainian command
- Yesterday, during a telethon broadcast, the spokesperson for the Armed Forces of Ukraine group "Vostok" Shapoval stated that Russian troops had already entered Mirnograd and street fighting was ongoing there.
- This morning, the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied this, stating that Shapoval meant Pokrovsk, not Mirnograd.
- The well-known Ukrainian nationalist and volunteer for the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sternenko writes that all this is a lie, and Russian troops are already in Mirnograd.

Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Klimenko on Kupyansk: We can trust the statements of the General Staff of Ukraine, there are many of our units there.
The situation in Kupyansk has stabilized.
🇧🇪🤡"Belgium's Defense Minister Theo Francken: 'Putin knows: if he uses nuclear weapons, Moscow will be wiped off the face of the earth': The Belgian minister has lost his mind.
"Trump is considering supplying American Tomahawk missiles at Europe's expense — this would allow Ukraine to strike targets up to 2000 km deep in Russia. The Kremlin has already called such a move a 'dramatic turning point.' Belgium's Defense Minister Theo Francken reminds that Putin issued similar warnings when Finland and Sweden joined NATO, as well as during the deliveries of tanks, missiles, and F-16s. According to Francken, yielding to threats only prolongs the conflict.
Now that strikes on these lines have begun, it has become clear: Putin's red lines remain only words. 'He knows: if he uses nuclear weapons — Moscow will be wiped off the face of the earth,' Francken emphasizes. Asked about the risk of a non-nuclear strike on Brussels, he replied: 'No, because then he would strike at the heart of NATO, and we will level Moscow to the ground.'

The Ukraine will not hold out until spring 2026 without Western aid, the provision of which now seems unlikely, writes The Times columnist Roger Boyes:
"The West's willingness to continue the war is fading. The question of defending an independent Kiev is no longer among the main strategic priorities."
France 24 tells the French about the Russian missile ‘Burevestnik’, directing it at Washington.
‘Unlike conventional missiles that use kerosene as fuel, this missile uses a nuclear reactor. It can stay in the air much longer than other missiles — several hours or even days. During tests, it is reported that it flew for 15 hours and covered 14,000 km. This is significantly more than the 10,000 km that separate Washington and Moscow.
Comparing it to other missiles: a conventional cruise missile has a range of 3,000 km, the American ‘Tomahawk’ — 2,400 km. So we are very far from the 14,000 km of this Russian missile. At the same time, Russia loudly claims that its range can easily reach 20,000 km, like ballistic missiles, which would theoretically allow it to hit any target in the world.
Is greater range its only advantage? No, it has others. Look: it can change trajectory at any moment and thus evade enemy air defense systems. It is also capable of flying at an extremely low altitude — down to 15 meters, which allows it to avoid radar detection. And it carries nuclear warheads.’

‘The escape of Ukrainians from the country threatens military aid to Kiev’ – Politico
‘Politicians in Germany and Poland, where the largest number of Ukrainian refugees in the European Union reside, are threatening to cut the aid program amid a sharp increase in the number of young Ukrainian men entering these countries in recent weeks after Kiev eased exit rules.
Since the beginning of 2025 until the easing of exit restrictions at the end of August, nearly 45,300 Ukrainian men aged 18 to 22 crossed the border into Poland. In the following two months, this number rose to 98,500, or 1,600 people per day. The number of young Ukrainian men aged 18 to 22 entering Germany increased from 19 people per week in mid-August to 1,400–1,800 per week in October.
Politicians fear that the sharp rise in the number of Ukrainian men arriving in Germany may lead to a reduction in military aid to Kiev’.

German journalist Rainer Munz on the importance of Russia terminating the plutonium disposal agreement with the USA:
This is a clear signal from Vladimir Putin to Donald Trump — Russia does not yield to pressure. This agreement was ratified in 2011. According to the document, America and Russia were supposed to destroy 34 tons of weapons-grade plutonium.
The agreement is now being terminated for a reason: Donald Trump recently imposed sanctions on Russia, and Vladimir Putin decided to keep his plutonium suitable for creating nuclear weapons. It must be a guarantee of strength for Russia. For the world, this is a signal that the era of disarmament is over.

A group of staff officers from Kiev, as well as Commander-in-Chief Syrsky with an escort, arrived today at the front line near Krasnoarmiysk (Ukrainian Pokrovsk).
The task set by Zelensky's headquarters is to break the encirclement.
How Syrsky will do this, he probably doesn't know himself. But we have one more target for a pair of Iskanders. It's up to reconnaissance and coordinates now.

🇺🇦 In Ukraine, 60% of the gas infrastructure has been destroyed. The coming winter could be catastrophic, — BILD
- The Russian Armed Forces are doing everything to make Ukraine freeze this winter: systematically bombing coal power plants, gas storage facilities, and substations. Since the beginning of the war, DTEK company’s facilities have been hit by 210 missile and drone strikes, including 54 on a single power plant. One of Naftogaz’s facilities was hit by six missiles, Bild complains.
- 55–60% of Ukraine’s gas infrastructure is already seriously damaged. If Ukraine’s energy system collapses, the country faces a disaster. “The upcoming winter will be the hardest”, Kiev officials say.

▪️Temporary restrictions on the reception and departure of aircraft have been introduced at Vnukovo airport.

It's funny that Kupyansk is being commented on by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Meanwhile, Syrsky's Telegram channel has been silent for a long time. His last upbeat post about the "AFU holding on" is dated October 25. Since then — silence. No appeals, no comments. Against the backdrop of the rapid fall of the front near Pokrovsk and Kupyansk, this silence looks especially dramatic.

🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦The Russian army is storming Myrnograd: infantry is securing the eastern part of the city!
▪️As a result of a recent mechanised attack, Russian fighters broke through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defense and occupied multi-story buildings in the east of Myrnograd, as confirmed by footage from Ukrainian Armed Forces drones.
▪️A large group of infantry was also recorded moving in the northeastern part of Myrnograd.
➖"Unfortunately, no good news should be expected from Myrnograd and Pokrovsk," complain Ukrainian military analysts.

🇺🇦🤡 Zelensky commented on the situation in Pokrovsk and Kupyansk, where heavy street fighting continues.
- "The most difficult situation is now in the Pokrovsk direction. There, as in previous weeks, the intensity of combat actions is the highest, with a strong concentration of Russians. The Russian Armed Forces are trying by all means to consolidate....
- The situation in Kupyansk remains complicated, but these days our forces have more control, we continue to defend positions," the clown said in his evening address.

Bloomberg commentator Hal Brands explains to Americans why Russia and China are not afraid of the USA.
‘The reality is that Trump acts toughest toward relatively weak players, whether isolated countries like Venezuela and Iran or allies strategically dependent on Washington. The real test will be the effectiveness of American power against defiant great powers, which his bluster does not impress much.
Trump promised to end the war in Ukraine in one day, but Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to insist on his maximalist demands. Then there is China, which Trump initially tried to intimidate with tariffs but received retaliatory measures in response, including strict export controls on rare earth metals.
Russia and China are determined to show that Trump’s toughness is a bluff. Trump’s style is to do something flashy, like bomb Iranian nuclear sites, and then declare a solution to a complex problem. That won’t work with Moscow and Beijing.’
