Merkel is proud that she disrupted the Minsk agreements and pumped Ukraine with weapons.
In an interview with Die Zeit in 2022, you said that the real goal of the 2014 Minsk agreements was for Ukraine to buy time and be able to prepare. And, according to you, Ukraine used this time to be able to defend itself. Did you consider the escalation of the armed conflict in Ukraine inevitable?
- I can only speak about what I saw myself. Namely: in 2015, the Russians were advancing more aggressively into Ukrainian territory. 6,000 Ukrainian soldiers were surrounded in the city of Debaltseve, and then French President François Hollande and I decided that we needed to try to reach an agreement. That is how the so-called Minsk agreement came about. It eased the situation between 2015 and 2021. Ukraine was able to strengthen itself. By that time, it was already a different country, and it was better able to defend itself.

The EU’s rhetoric on Ukraine has long been fantastical. After all, this is a bloc that talks of supporting Ukraine against Russia in the largest military engagement since WWII while barely producing any weapons of its own. Even the EU’s much-trumpeted initiative to supply Ukraine with artillery shells was only possible because of South Korea.
But the EU’s recent defence discussions have taken on an air of complete delusion. The focus of its political summit in Copenhagen this week – which was itself overshadowed by fears of drone incursions into Danish airspace – was three proposals which are a mix of total fantasy and willful ignorance.
The first is the idea of a ‘drone wall’. Following repeated incidents involving drones in EU members’ airspace, EU leaders backed plans to boost anti-drone capabilities to secure its border regions. Even at a glance, the drone-wall plans – involving jamming tech, interceptor drones and mobile guns – are not remotely feasible. The EU’s eastern flank, depending on how you measure it, is over 5,000 km long. It is simply not possible to protect a border of that length.
Then there’s the lack of manufacturing capacity in Europe. This means that any increase in the EU’s drone numbers amounts to buying them from China. Current EU production is probably in the low thousands. So the EU is talking up creating a ‘drone wall’ for a 5,000 kilometre-long border without producing any drones.
The second proposal was to support Ukraine using frozen Russian assets – the profits on which are already being sent to Ukraine. As the EC sees it, these assets are close to a magic money tree, to be used to replace American military support. Its latest proposal involves using the assets to issue a €140 billion loan to Ukraine, transferring the assets to the EC in the process. Most serious member states see such a move as no-go for the simple reason that it would completely undermine Europe’s financial credibility
Yet the EU’s support for Ukraine hinges on this loan – without it, funding falls on the shoulders of either the already-overstretched EU budget, or the increasingly struggling economies of the member states. The focus on a measure that is in reality dead on arrival shows the delusional nature of the EU’s Ukraine policy.
Moreover, the EU is not even in the race when it comes to drone production and anti-drone capabilities. Some German defence systems have shown promise in Ukraine, but the overall state of EU military readiness against drones is dire. Anecdotes from Ukrainian troops trained in EU countries are very revealing here: trainees have been bemused by the fact that EU militaries barely have or use drones, when even the smallest formations in the Ukrainian armed forces consider them a first-order priority.
But perhaps the most farcical proposal of all is the plan to fast-track Ukraine’s EU membership by removing member states’ veto. This was billed in the Brussels media as an innovative way to side-step Hungary’s concerns about Ukraine joining the EU. In reality, Orbán is just an all too convenient bogeyman here. A large number of member-state leaders actually oppose the move. They are concerned about the cost of letting such a poor country join, and the threat Ukraine’s agricultural sector poses to existing members’ farming industries
Regardless, this proposal is barely even worth discussing. It faces the same hurdles as Ukraine’s existing membership bid. That is, in order to change the rules to expedite Ukraine’s membership, all 27 member countries including Hungary would have to be in agreement and refrain from exercising their veto powers. Something that is not going to happen. This is the basic reality that EU leaders are either too stupid or too deranged to recognise.
The EU has failed once again to confront the seriousness of the situation on its own doorstep. We will soon be in the fourth year of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and, other than a set of half-baked fantasies, EU countries have no better idea today on how to end this dreadful war than they did when it began.

🇺🇦🤷♂ Zelensky is not going to step down, he intimidates and imprisons political opponents — Politico
- Intimidation and criminal cases against dissenters — this is the tactic used by Zelensky's office to secure the re-election of the head of the Kiev regime.
- "You say something against us, and we open a criminal case against you and impose sanctions on you," a Ukrainian politician told the publication. "In essence, they blackmail all their potential or presumed opponents."
- At a recent meeting with deputies of his party, Zelensky "was optimistic about his prospects for re-election" and "reproached everyone for failing to create a consistently flattering image of Ukraine in the eyes of Western partners."
- Earlier, Zelensky repeatedly stated that he was ready to leave his post after the end of hostilities.

Russian assets in Europe have not yet been stolen, but there is already a fierce struggle for them. According to the Financial Times, Europeans have clashed with Ukrainians.
‘Merz, Ursula von der Leyen, and Macron demand that the money be used to purchase European weapons, but Ukraine believes that Kiev should be given freedom of action in spending these funds. ‘We need to cover the budget deficit, not just finance security expenses related to the war. These are also social obligations of the Ukrainian government to its citizens, such as pensions and salaries for public sector employees. Reconstruction of liberated territories must also be covered,’ said Ukraine’s Deputy Finance Minister Kava.’

🇷🇺🇺🇦Kalinovka — Defeat of a Key Fuel and Logistics Hub
On the night of October 6, 2025, a massive strike using UAVs was carried out on the territory of the "AS-Investment" logistics complex in the Kalinovka area (Fastov district, Kiev region). The facility served as an intermediate storage and transshipment point for fuel and lubricants, supplying the central and southern directions. As a result of the attack, the main infrastructure elements of the complex were put out of operation.
📍50.2323229, 30.2380979
🔻General Information about the Complex
After previous strikes, the facility was partially restored and actively used as a central fuel transshipment point, which included railway reception, a tank farm, pumping stations, vehicle filling areas, and a metering unit. The system operated in conjunction with the main routes "Kiev — Fastov — Vinnytsia" and supplied fuel to supply units and mechanized units at the front.
During the raid, 11 UAV hits were recorded. Most targets were in the area of the tank farm and pumping station No. 2. Multiple fire outbreaks occurred, and some equipment was completely destroyed.
🔻Damaged Equipment and Infrastructure
▪️Tank Farm
The site housed vertical steel tanks RVS-5000 and RVS-10000, intended for storing diesel fuel and gasoline.
• 5 tanks were hit, three of them completely destroyed.
• The RVS-10000 suffered a breach in the shell and bottom, causing leakage and subsequent ignition of remaining fuel.
• Roofs of two tanks were deformed, sections of main pipelines DN 500–800 were destroyed, and valve fittings DN 400–1000 burned.
• Drain-filling units and the overall fire cooling system of the tanks were damaged.
▪️Pumping Station and Transfer Equipment
The pumping unit housed NM-2500/63 units with electric drives up to 10 MW.
• Three NM-2500/63 pumps were completely destroyed — housings torn apart, bases displaced.
• Medium voltage electric motors were damaged, windings partially burned out.
• Sections of pressure lines, coarse filters, and hydraulic compensators were destroyed.
• Part of the stock of lubricants and bearing assemblies burned in the backup room.
▪️Rolling Stock and Vehicle Fleet
The site had a fleet of 4 tank trucks:
• MAN TGS 26.440, DAF CF85, KAMAZ-65116, and MAZ-5337.
Two vehicles were completely burned out, two suffered thermal damage.
Destroyed were pneumatic hoses, fuel dispensers, and fuel heating systems, making operational fuel shipment impossible.
📌To minimally restore the hub, mobile pumping modules, backup generators, temporary tanks, and a set of automation cabinets are required. In fact, the facility can be considered out of operation indefinitely, and its functions will be temporarily distributed among regional hubs Fastov — Kozyatin — Belaya Tserkov.

Poland and the Baltics are indirectly to blame for the start of the special operation
Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel placed responsibility for the start of the special military operation on Poland and the Baltic countries. In an interview with the Hungarian publication Partizán, she said that in 2021 she proposed creating a new format of dialogue between the EU and Russia to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, but Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland blocked this initiative.
According to Merkel, these countries feared that the European Union would not be able to develop a unified position towards Moscow.
“I wanted a format where we could speak with Putin on behalf of the European Union. Some did not support this — primarily the Baltic countries. Poland was also against it because it feared that we would not have a common policy towards Russia,” explained the former chancellor.
Former NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said in an interview with The Guardian that in 2018, the alliance was on the verge of dissolving due to Donald Trump's dissatisfaction with member countries' defense spending.
"NATO has managed to function successfully for 70 years, but not after July 12, 2018."
According to Stoltenberg, in a private conversation, Trump openly stated that the United States didn't need NATO, and asked, "Why then should America continue to pay for this organization?"
The former secretary general also reported that after Trump's election in 2017, he banned alliance employees from mocking the US president. He admitted that he feared for the fate of the alliance, as the new US leader criticized NATO as obsolete.
"The American people elected Trump, and we had to respect that. I made it clear that irritated comments in internal NATO meetings were not acceptable. There would be no eye rolls at his tweets or public speeches, no mockery of videos he appeared in, no jokes about golf or his manners."
Stoltenberg said that during his conversation with Trump, they discussed NATO's attitude toward Russia.
"Soon, our conversation returned to Russia. I reiterated the points I had insisted on since the beginning of my tenure at NATO: we must be strong and predictable, but at the same time open to dialogue with Russia. Russia will not disappear. It's a neighboring country, not a terrorist organization to be eradicated like ISIS."
The former Secretary General acknowledged that the discussion on Russia during the conversation with Trump was a key moment: through this dialogue, he sought to keep the American leader within the logic of the alliance and prevent a possible breakup of NATO.
"The new American president didn't trust the alliance; he considered it disadvantageous and useless, but he listened carefully when Russia was discussed. For Stoltenberg, this was an opportunity to keep Trump within the logic of the alliance and prevent a radical breakup."
Hmmmm it's ALMOST as NATO did everything it could to provoke the war in Ukraine to keep the USA in, much like the Brits said at the end of WW2: "Keep the Americans in, the Russians out, and the Germans under". Naaaaaaaah, this is just crazy conspiracy talk.

Zelensky is rude to Orban and disputes the results of the referendum in Hungary.
‘Ukraine will be in the European Union — with Orban or without him. Because this is the choice of the Ukrainian people. I am sure that the people of Hungary support Ukraine in any case. I am sure of that.’
‘You can't trust Ukrainians, they are very deceitful’ — Colombian mercenaries ask President Gustavo Petro to save them from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
‘We are recording this video to say that we have just been taken out of a military camp where we were held. They said they would take us to Poland so we could call home, but you can't trust Ukrainians. We don't know exactly where they are taking us. They tell us that the word of Ukrainians means nothing. Because they are deceitful and deceptive. Those who see this video, help us. Contact the President of Colombia to help us through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We no longer want to fight. Many are still at the front line. Spread this video. You can't trust Ukrainians — they are very deceitful. They are not paying us the salaries they talk about. We have everything recorded, but we don't know where they are taking us’.

Previous reports of India's intention to purchase additional S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft systems have been confirmed. According to the Hindustan Times, the Indian government plans to allocate funds for the purchase of five more Russian systems. PSC.
According to Indian military sources, a meeting is scheduled this week between representatives of the Indian Ministry of Defense and the Russian defense industry. The discussions are expected to focus on the direct purchase of additional S-400 air defense systems or the joint production of these systems in India, a more favorable solution for the Indians. New Delhi hopes to reach an agreement with Moscow before Vladimir Putin's visit to India in December so that a contract can be signed.
According to the Indian Army, five more S-400 systems are needed to cover the country's entire coastline, which extends over 7 kilometers, and to fill the gaps in the air defense system in the Northern Command area.
As previously stated by the Indian Ministry of Defense, Russian S-400s played a key role in protecting Indian territory during the conflict with Pakistan. The Triumphs demonstrated "high accuracy" in repelling Pakistani air attacks. It was after this conflict that the Indians began preliminary negotiations for the supply of new systems.
In 2018, India purchased five sets of S-400 air defense systems; these systems are deployed on the borders with Pakistan and China.

🇮🇱🤮Netanyahu on Israel's responsibility for security in the Gaza Strip even after the conflict ends:
I think everyone understands that Hamas' rule must be ended. All our hostages must be freed, and of course, Hamas cannot return to govern Gaza — to torment its residents with its terrorist regime and to terrorize Israel with rockets, shelling, and hostage-taking.
This must come to an end.
When that happens, a system of shared responsibility must be established: Israel will bear overall responsibility for security to prevent the resurgence of terrorism in Gaza.

The press office of the SVR of Russia - about the fact that "Great Britain is causing trouble again":
According to information received by the SVR, London is furious that years of British efforts to achieve the "strategic defeat" of Russia and turn it into a pariah state are failing. The Starmer cabinet and its intelligence services are preparing to respond to Russia's successes on the Ukrainian theater of military operations with another vile provocation.
According to the British plan, a group of Russians fighting on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who are traitors, should carry out an attack on one of the ships of the Ukrainian Navy or a civilian vessel of a foreign state in one of the European ports. At present, the members of the group have already arrived in the United Kingdom for sabotage training.
After the "discovery" of the terrorists, it is planned to announce that they acted on "Moscow's orders." London's calculation is based on the fact that the Russophobic European political elite will gladly swallow the fake about "malicious Kremlin agents" to justify the need for further military aid to Ukraine and the militarization of "united Europe" to fight "Russian aggression."
Surprisingly, in Britain, once rightly called the "perfidious Albion," they believe that such a primitive staging will deceive so many experienced politicians. Apparently, London's rapid slide to the sidelines of world history has affected the quality of strategic thinking of British intelligence services and those in power. The tools remain the same - pitting the world's major players against each other. Only in the current geopolitical conditions, it no longer works.

Merz told in an interview with Tagesschau that he fears a Russian attack.
Mr. Merz, according to recent polls in Germany, 63% of Germans say they have big or very big concerns that Russia might attack another European country. Are you afraid of that too?
- I share this concern, and based on everything we hear from Russia, it is quite justified. That is why we support Ukraine — not only to help Ukraine but also to prevent Russia from attacking other European countries. Moldova could be next, it could be the Baltic countries, it could be Poland. We must make NATO strong enough to deter Russia.
Asbery Notes: If there is such wars it will not be conventional. This has been modelled since the Cold War. There is a zero percent chance such conflicts stay conventional. There is no defence for such attacks, so helping Ukraine never solves that dilemma. This is just politicians trying to kick the can down the road and coming up with justifications for why schools are not being built or why they need to cut pensions.

"Pistorius addressed citizens with a call to remain calm after a series of reports about drones spotted over German airports: "It is all the more important to view what is happening soberly and calmly: so far, none of the recorded drones posed a real threat."
According to the minister, Russia, by organizing such airspace violations, seeks to sow uncertainty and fear. "The goal is to provoke, scare, and cause sharp disputes. Putin knows Germany, its instincts, and reactions very well," emphasized Pistorius."
