Personal opinion on Trump's big announcement:
Nothing has effectively changed. The USA have been arming and aiding Ukraine since the war started, and Trump never really closed the pipeline, minus a couple of hiccups due to the twelve day war depleting a lot of US stockpile.
The big difference is that the costs of the materiel sent will be footed entirely by Europe from now on, so almost everyone is happy.
Trump is happy because (he thinks) that he can now say that this is no longer his war since he's no longer paying (at least until he follows through with his sanctions plan), the narkoman in Kiev is happy because he gets his weapons, and European leaders are happy because the Narkoman is getting his weapons.
The only ones who won't be happy are the inhabitants of Europe who'll have to endure cuts to welfare and healthcare, the Ukrainian mobiks sent to the slaughter, and the Russian soldiers who'll have to kill their brothers, all of this to support this insanity.
The fact that the European leaders (and by extension their countries) are the ones getting fleeced to pay for a war that Uncle Sam desperately wanted is of course flying way over their heads - at stratospheric heights.
And of course, propagandists and politicians in the west are already saying that this is a great victory.

Trump says he was surprised by Ukraine strikes.
‘If we don’t have a deal in 50 days, we’re going to have to impose “secondary tariffs.” They’re pretty tough, and we don’t want to do that. But we’ll see what happens. We thought we had a deal a few times. I’d come home and tell the first lady, “I had a great conversation with Vladimir, I think we got it all worked out.” And then I’d turn on the TV, or she’d say to me one day, “Well, that’s weird, because they just bombed a nursing home.” I’d be like, “What?”…
"May I say something?" You came to power in January, and in February you had your first phone call with Putin. I think you did exactly what I hoped you would do, which was to break the deadlock, start a conversation because you need to check the situation. I know Putin very well from the time when I was prime minister. And so, when you need to check the situation, you did it, you really gave him a chance to behave seriously, to sit down at the negotiating table. Whitkoff, Rubio, everybody was trying to help you. But now you've come to a point where you're saying...
- We thought we had an agreement about four times.
-Yes.
- We said that [the agreement] 'looks good'.
-Yes.
- And then the agreement was disrupted, because shelling began at night.
-Yes. But you got it off the ground because it was important to start this process. You were the only one who was able to do it.
😂
@Slavyangrad
Trump refused to talk about the escalation of the war in Ukraine.
How far are you willing to go in response?
-In what?
How far are you willing to go in escalating [the conflict]?
-Don’t ask me ‘how far.’ I don’t know. I want this war to end.

Rutte convinces Trump that Putin treated him badly by sending Medinsky to the negotiations in Istanbul.
‘He [Putin] did not send serious people for negotiations. I remember how you, along with Marco Rubio and Steve Wittkopf, were able to launch these negotiations in Istanbul. I remember I was in Turkey myself on NATO business in May, and we really put pressure on the Ukrainians to send a serious delegation to Istanbul. And they did. But then the Russians came with some historian who started explaining the history of Russia from 1250.’

'We will quickly deliver to the battlefield' - Trump scares with arms supplies to Ukraine.
‘The purpose of today’s speech is to tell you that we have concluded a very important deal. Billions of dollars worth of military equipment will be purchased from the USA, for NATO and so on. And this equipment will be quickly sent to the battlefield. And Ukraine will receive it’.

The United States cannot cope with three conflicts at the same time - Ukraine may be "superfluous" - WSJ
▪️The Pentagon began to sound the alarm: Ukraine is asking for more and more weapons, and the United States is running out of stocks. According to The Wall Street Journal, Deputy Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby sent a secret note to the head of the Pentagon, in which he warns that America will not physically pull out military participation on three fronts at once: in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
▪️The document lists the real needs of Ukraine and, at the same time, compares it with what the United States itself has to protect its interests. According to sources, after that, supplies to Kiev began to freeze.
▪️Colby, as well as his associate Mitchell, believe that the United States should focus on the main threat - China. "Even if you have to sacrifice other regions, you have to make a choice," Mitchell said.

'Biden is to blame for the war in Ukraine' - Senator Tom Cotton.
'It was Joe Biden who induced Vladimir Putin to re-invade Ukraine, just as he invaded the first time when Obama was president. And then Biden continued to slowly supply weapons to Ukraine, not in a way to help Ukraine win two or three years ago, but only to prevent it from losing'.

‘Helping Ukraine is like taking out a loan to help a homeless person’ – Senator Rand Paul said the US does not have the money to fund a war.
‘There is also the danger of getting more involved in a war between Russia and Ukraine. That’s why I keep saying that we need to focus on our domestic issues and understand that we don’t have enough money. You can talk about the moral side of it all, but the reality is that in order to arm Ukraine, we have to borrow from China. You can help them if you have a surplus, but we have to go to the bank to borrow.
And to me, it’s like if you were walking down the street, making $25,000 a year, barely paying rent, you don’t have any money to spare, and you see a homeless person. You feel great sympathy and you say, ‘Oh my God, I have to go to the first bank and borrow $1,000 to give to a homeless person.’ Nobody thinks like that. But, in essence, that is exactly what we are doing now.'

I was impeached for calling Zelensky’ – Trump.
‘A man came up to me, a former energy minister: ’Sir, could you call President Zelensky?’. And I called him. In fact, I was delaying it, he probably came to me ten times: ‘Please, sir’. Because they wanted to do some business, whether it was oil or gas, who knows what they wanted. Can you imagine what they wanted. But they wanted me to call President Zelensky. And I did. When I finally got through, I said: ‘Hello, Mr. President, how are you? Is everything okay? Good. Congratulations on the big victory, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful’. I hang up the phone, and that’s it. And for this call, I am being accused’

Berlin will no longer give either Taurus or Patriot: Germany has definitively limited military aid to Ukraine
▪️German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed in an interview with the Financial Times that Germany has rejected Ukraine's repeated request for the supply of Taurus cruise missiles.
▪️In addition, Kiev will not receive any additional Patriot systems either - Berlin has only six systems left, and, as the minister emphasized, "that is too few, especially given the obligations to NATO."

Europe is determined to start a war [with Russia]. And they will pay for all the weapons' – Trump
Can this deal with NATO be seen as a step towards peace, letting Putin know that Zelensky now has a little more tools in his arsenal, and perhaps this will push him to the negotiating table for peace?
That's exactly what we've been talking about. It was a good, clear formulation. Yes, I think that this is a chance to achieve peace. I must tell you: in Europe there is a mood for this war, there is a spirit. I am surprised at the level of their morale. Look, they agreed to pay for everything. We don't pay anymore. We have an ocean that separates us.

Rutte to Trump:
‘You called me on Thursday and said you had made a decision. And that decision is that you want Ukraine to get everything it needs to be able to defend itself against Russia. But you want the Europeans to pay for it – that makes perfect sense.’

Trump makes a statement with threats against Russia over the war in Ukraine
▪️The US and NATO have reached an agreement to supply weapons to Ukraine at the expense of Europeans, Trump said.|
▪️The US will impose import duties of 100% on Russia and its trading partners if Moscow and Washington do not agree on Ukraine.
▪️The US will impose secondary sanctions on Russia and its trading partners if there is no deal on Ukraine within approximately 50 days.

'Trump will announce the supply of long-range missiles to Ukraine that can reach Moscow' - Axios
"Sending offensive weapons would be a major step for Trump, who until recently went out of his way to say that he would only provide defensive weapons to avoid escalating the conflict. U.S., Ukrainian and European officials hope the weapons will change the course of the war and influence Russian President Vladimir Putin's calculations for a ceasefire.
Two sources told Axios that they have reason to believe that the plan is likely to include long-range missiles capable of hitting targets deep inside Russian territory, including Moscow. However, none of them was aware of the final decision."

💬 "They tried to re-educate us": a resident of Genichesk (Kherson region) told about years of life under pressure from Ukrainian nationalists
Local resident and teacher Larisa Dobrolyubova told about systematic pressure on the Russian-speaking population of the Kherson region after the events of 2014.
Nationalism was systematically implanted. Thus, propaganda events were regularly held in the local House of Culture after the Maidan, including the mythologization of the "heavenly hundred".
It was forbidden to call May 9 "Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War". The interpretation was introduced that "the Russians themselves provoked the war".
Nationalists from the western regions of Ukraine came to the city en masse and staged provocations in stores with demands to be served exclusively in Ukrainian.
