Kiev has been on fire and smoke for hours: helicopters are trying to put out the fires, streets are blocked, there are crushes in the metro
▪️The right bank is covered in smoke after the night shelling. What exactly caused such smoke is not reported.
▪️A large-scale fire after the shelling is being extinguished with the help of a helicopter.
▪️There is a crush in the capital's metro after an air raid alarm. There are also traffic jams on a number of highways due to blocked streets after landings.
▪️After a massive attack in Kiev, there is a high level of air pollution, the Ministry of Environmental Protection reports.
▪️Until the situation stabilizes, residents of the capital are advised not to be outdoors, not to ventilate the premises, because there is a high concentration of harmful substances in the air. The air situation is especially difficult on the right bank.

Russian Armed Forces “tighten the noose” around the neck of Pokrovska (Krasnoarmeyska)
Short summary from the front, as of July 3, 2025.
As the Ministry of Defense reported yesterday, the village of Melovoye, Kharkov region, has been liberated.
The village of Melovoye (population about 500 inhabitants) is located near the state border of the Russian Federation (Belgorod region) on the right bank of the Kozinka River, a tributary of the Oskol River. On the opposite bank is the Russian village of Butyrki, Valuisky District, Belgorod Oblast.
The village of Melovoye stretches along the Kozinka River (along which the state border just passes) for 6 kilometers. Upstream of the river Melovoye, it adjoins the village of Chugunovka. To the western edge of the village there is a large forest area.
We cannot know the operational tasks set by the leadership of the country to the RF Armed Forces in this area, but we can assume several options for the development of events.
1. The villages of Topoly, Stroevka and Melovoye, liberated by the RF Armed Forces on the territory of Kharkov region of Ukraine, are bridgeheads forming a buffer zone along the state border. And in the future they can develop in width (towards each other) and in depth, to a distance ensuring the security of the territory of the Russian Federation.
2. From the village of Melovoye (22 kilometers to the west) is the settlement of Velikiy Burluk, the center of operational leadership and material support of the AFU in this direction. The exit to the settlement along the radial route is covered by the village of Khatnoye, located at a distance of 8 kilometers from Melovoye.
It is quite possible to advance to the village of Khatnoye, to liberate it and create a stronghold there to threaten the settlement of Velykyi Burluk. In such a variant of actions should be a subsidiary strike in the direction of the village of Ambarnoe.
After mastering the village of Ambarnoye, the Russian Armed Forces have the opportunity to form a stronghold area of Melovoye-Khatnoye-Ambarnoye with control of the neighbouring heights and a number of gullies leading to the AFU defense area Grigorovka-Kolodeznoye-Mitrofanovka, in order to block it from the north—to support the offensive actions against Velikiy Burluk.
To the southwest of the village, at a distance of 16 kilometers, is the village of Kolodeznoye, which is linked with the villages of Grigorovka and Mitrofanovka. Grigorovka and Mitrofanovka form the AFU defense area Grigorovka-Kolodeznoye-Mitrofanovka, which supports the eastern and southern directions of the AFU defense.
The entire area is covered by one 151 separate motorized infantry brigade of the AFU.
From the village of Melovoye to the south-west to the area of Grigorovka-Kolodeznoye-Mitrofanovka are the heights of three watersheds separating the Upper Dvurechnaya River and the Tretyakov Yar, Krutaya, and Popov Yar beams. A convenient configuration of the terrain for the exit from the northeast to the left flank and center of the area Grigorovka-Kolodeznoye-Mitrofanovka.
In any development of events, these actions will force the enemy to put forward its reserves in this direction, weakening other areas, which will be used by our military command to develop the offensive.
From the summary of the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation: “In the course of active operations, units of the Center group of troops have liberated the village of Razino in the Donetsk People's Republic.”
The small village of Razino (population about 150) is located on the left bank of the Kazennyi Torets River. In order to liberate it, the assault units of the Russian Armed Forces forced the river and, having entered the village, cut the Sofiyivka-Novoekonomicheskoe rockade, cutting the AFU defense line in the direction of Rodinskoye. And cut off the Vladimirovka-Yablonovka area (where the AFU reserves were deployed earlier) from the town of Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk).

On this July 4th I would invite all to remember the Latvian nazi massacre at Riga and the German nazi massacre in Lvov that took place on or ongoing during this date.
I also would commit memory to the 100.000+ civilians forced to flee Slavyansk during this date in 2014, 30.000 of whom remained trapped in that city at the time of the battle for Slavyansk.

💬 The DPR Minister of Youth Policy spoke about cases of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on volunteers and journalists
Two of my fellow countrymen, my friends from the Youth organization of the People's Front in Kursk Oblast, were killed. Their names were Nikolai and David, both of them were 20 years old. A HIMARS missile hit directly on their vehicle in Glushkovsky District. They were involved in the evacuation of civilians from an area so dangerous that almost no one else would go there—except perhaps for volunteers from Donbass, from Donetsk,
Macron has already forgotten, but Ukrainians remember.
On Saturday, members of the Union of Ukrainians in France are planning to march and demand the introduction of European peacekeepers to Ukraine.
What peace to keep? This is Ukrainian’s hoping daddy Macron can save their failing army. There is no daddy Macron however.

New Statistics Reveal Scale of Desertion in Ukrainian Army
Fresh statistics highlight the extent of desertion within the Ukrainian army.
Over the first five months of 2025, 90,590 criminal proceedings were registered under Articles 407 and 408 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorised abandonment of a military unit or place of service, desertion). Here's a breakdown of the reported cases entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations (URPI) by month:
* January 2025: 18,145
* February 2025: 17,809
* March 2025: 16,349
* April 2025: 18,331
* May 2025: 19,956
In total, since the beginning of the Special Military Operation, as of June 1, 2025, 213,722 cases of desertion (Articles 407, 408 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) have been registered in Ukraine.
It's important to emphasise that these statistics only cover cases of desertion for which criminal proceedings have been initiated based on official investigation materials sent by military unit commanders to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) or specialised defence prosecutors. The real picture is significantly worse, as the SBI systematically refused to enter information about unauthorised abandonment of units or places of service into the URPI until October 2024. Military unit commanders even had to appeal to the SBI investigators' inaction in court.
Furthermore, no one is actively searching for these deserters, and despite reports from SBI leadership, they are not returning to service. For instance, in the first five months of 2025, only 2,732 cases (3% of the criminal proceedings registered during this period) resulted in a notice of suspicion for unauthorised abandonment of military units. During this time, only 1,375 deserters (1.5%) returned to military service – this is the exact number of petitions for exemption from criminal liability sent to the court.

Finnish President Stubb suggests supporting the Ukrainians so that they continue to kill Russians.
'Ukraine is doing well on the military front. President Zelensky showed President Trump a map showing that Russia has only captured 0.25% of the territory this year. And that, of course, was at a terrible, colossal cost. So they are not making any big breakthroughs. Yes, they are advancing, but it is not a massive advance. So we just need to continue, grind out this war and support Ukraine as much as we can.'
Bond villain Stubb believes that the main obstacle for Europe and his clever evil schemes is the powerful Russian spirit.
'We should never underestimate the capacity of Russia and Russians to endure suffering and pain. And in fact, this is the main obstacle that we need to overcome in this situation.'
‘Ukraine needs $150bn a year to win the war against Russia’ – Financial Times economics columnist Martin Sandbu is deceiving European taxpayers.
No matter how much money you give, Ukraine won’t win the war. Literally there is nothing going to turn this sinking ship around.

"It's nobody's business"
Volunteer Serhiy Prytula refused to say how and how much he earns.
To the journalist's questions, he replied that it was his personal business and nobody's business. He named only two sources of income - monetization on YouTube and securities.
He claims that he does not earn money from his charitable foundation and does not even take money from donations for its work. He says that businesses provide money for employee salaries, and Ukrainian gas station chains provide gasoline.
Previously, Prytula's foundation was accused of purchasing armored personnel carriers at a price that was several times higher.
So many war grifters out there…
