The New York Times reports this, citing US intelligence officials.

Iranian President Pezeshkian said his country would "respond to aggression" from the United States after a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron.
In a statement released, Pezeshkian called Washington's actions "military aggression," stressing that Iran "steadfastly defended itself."
“We have always stated that we are ready for interaction and negotiations within the framework of international law, but instead of accepting logic, the other side demanded the capitulation of the Iranian nation,” he noted.
According to the president, Iran will not succumb to pressure: “Our nation will never succumb to bullying and oppression, and it is natural that it will respond accordingly to aggression.”

The Israeli military says it launched a wave of airstrikes deep into Iran early Sunday, using over 20 warplanes and more than 30 munitions in an “intelligence-based” operation.
▪️ The strikes, they claim, hit missile launch infrastructure, radar systems, and military satellite assets in Kermanshah and Hamedan, in western Iran.
▪️ A surface-to-air missile launcher near Tehran was also targeted, according to Israel.
▪️ The Israeli military said the goal is to “achieve aerial superiority over Iranian airspace” and degrade Iran’s military capabilities.

Oil prices could rise by 70% if Iran blocks the Strait of Hormuz, JPMorgan reports, according to Bloomberg.
While a complete closure of the waterway is unlikely, even limited Iranian actions - such as harassing tankers, jamming GPS or mining ships - could seriously disrupt regional oil trade.
Hormuz is a key route through which about 20% of the world's oil passes daily. After the US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, potential Iranian interference in shipping has become a major point of tension.
Iran's parliament had previously recommended closing the strait . Bloomberg writes that Greek authorities have already advised their shipping companies to reconsider their routes in the area.

Iran has already gone through a regime change when Mossadegh wanted to nationalize the hydrocarbon industry, and the MI6 and CIA brought the Shahs into power, in a rather brutal regime that suppressed democracy and conducted some horrifying things on its own population. Moscow has criticized a statement by US Vice President Vance, who claimed that Russia and China are not interested in Iran acquiring nuclear weapons.
According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, no one authorized Vance to speak on behalf of Russia and China.
"First of all, Russia and China do not want the US to interfere in their internal affairs in any form. And for anyone making statements on behalf of, but without instructions from, our two countries, it would be a good idea to start with this," she noted, adding that, for example, the US could stop supplying missiles to Kyiv and the militarization of Taiwan.
She also stressed that Iran has the right to develop its nuclear program in accordance with international law and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
“Iran created peaceful nuclear energy, which it has every right to do, and did not create nuclear weapons, which has been repeatedly confirmed by both Tehran itself and the IAEA,” Zakharova said.

US Vice President Vance claims that Russia, China and the United States are united in their unwillingness to allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.

2 Moroccan high ranking soldiers were killed by an Iranian missile impact on the Meron base.
