South Korea’s politics shifts to the left - Politico
In terms of Ukraine, while South Korean law prohibits sending weapons to war zones, the country transferred hundreds of thousands of artillery rounds to the US in 2023, freeing up US stocks for Ukraine.
Lee’s election victory Tuesday was watched closely in Europe and among NATO countries. SK — along with Japan, and Australia — is forging a much closer relationship with the alliance as NATO looks to strengthen ties with like-minded countries in Asia.
Lee was the opposition leader when Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. He scolded Zelensky for “provoking” Russia and vehemently opposed weapons transfers to Ukraine, as that would mean “effectively a closure” for Korean companies in Russia.
He pledged to repair strained relations with China and North Korea. With a track record of criticizing the U.S., he has signaled a more cautious stance toward alignment with NATO, saying he may not attend this month's summit in The Hague.

The MoD confirmed that we have successfully eliminated multiple drone assembly, storage, and launch sites.
They also report that the enemy have lost approximately 1,400 servicemen in just one day.
Additionally over the last 24 hours, our air defense systems shot down 154 drones, including 60 outside the SMO zone.

A Zvezda correspondent took a ride on a ground drone — the military development is being tested at one of the Moscow region testing grounds. After all the modifications, the robot is planned to be sent to the SVO zone.
It can be used to deliver ammunition and evacuate soldiers - seven people can fit on top at once, said Vladislav Kustov. The drone's load capacity is at least 500 kilograms.

"SMO" may be upgraded to "CTO"
In case anyone missed it, during yesterday's teleconference between President Putin and members of the Russian government, the President clearly outlined his view of the Zelensky government as an absolutely corrupt and incompetent terrorist regime. This opens up the possibility that during the next Russian security council meeting, the matter of upgrading the Special Military Operation to the status of a "Counter Terrorist Operation" may be raised. Move over SMO, the CTO may be here. The differences in Russian law between an SMO and CTO are very serious, as I will outline below.
Special Military Operation (SMO) is a conventional term which describes the scope of current Russian operations in Ukraine. The conduct of the SMO does not affect life within Russia in any significant legal sense. A CTO by contrast, is a legal framework with key implications for all Russian residents, as well as people living in the area of operations.
The CTO regime is introduced and canceled by the head of Russia's FSB. As such it is primarily a national security measure. The purpose of a CTO regime is to prevent or minimise the consequences of any and all threats to national security, such as (but not limited to) terrorist attacks. The CTO regime can be imposed on all or part of Russia, as well as in areas of military operations such as Ukraine or elsewhere.
A brief summary of CTO legal implications:
• FSB officers become part of the command structure of the military operation and participate in military planning and decision making at the highest levels.
• A new central operational command is created, staffed by officers from the FSB alongside those of the Ministry of Defence and Interior ministry.
• Conscripted soldiers may be utilised in combat operations (not just mobilized reservists).
• Security services may requisition property of citizens such as personal vehicles, warehouses etc for CTO use.
• Strict powers of control over the exchange of information.
• Communication means may be disconnected by security services without notice.
• Unimpeded access to any CTO employee into any premises in Russia without the need for legal warrant.
• Restrictions on freedom of movement.
• Employees of FSB, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Emergency Situations and others, become part of the CTO.
• Expanded powers to security forces in who may be designated a hostile combatant. This opens the door to targeted destruction of non-military individuals.
The last point is very important, because it creates the legal framework under which Ukrainian government officials may be deliberately targeted and destroyed, including but not limited to Zelensky himself.

Ukraine’s Strana reports:
Listening to Russian music in a public place: two women were held accountable in the Kiev region.
Police officers from the Kiev region saw a video on social networks where two women, in a state of alcohol intoxication, loudly listened to the music of a Russian singer in the center of the village of Gorenichi.
The police quickly established that the people in the video were local residents aged 34 and 31. The women told the law enforcement officers that they had decided to have some fun.
It is reported that the inspectors held a preventive conversation with the citizens and drew up administrative reports on the offenders for petty hooliganism.
Let us recall that in Ukraine there is no official ban on listening to Russian music, including in public places.

🇰🇵🇷🇺Kim Jong-un, at a meeting with Shoigu, promised to always support Moscow in international affairs, including the situation in Ukraine:
“Comrade Kim Jong-un assured that the DPRK government will continue to unconditionally support Russia’s position and foreign policy in all serious international political issues, primarily around Ukraine.
He expressed hope and confidence that Russia will continue to achieve victories in the just sacred cause of protecting the sovereignty of the state, territorial integrity and security interests. The complete coincidence of positions was confirmed."

Eight containers with weapons were discovered on the territory of an aeroclub in the village of Lyashki in Poland.
Interior Ministry spokesman Jacek Dobrzynski said the containers belong to a private company that has licenses to trade in weapons. The cargo is not the property of the Polish army.
According to RMF24, the company had a contract to supply MANPADS to Ukraine , but for reasons still unknown, it was not fulfilled. The containers were guarded for some time, but subsequently they were left almost unattended.
