As part of a major reorganization of the Pentagon's policy apparatus, the department dealing with Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia will be transferred to the department dealing with Europe and NATO, Defense News reports , citing its sources.
Since the beginning of the CBO, this once obscure office has helped shape U.S. policy on the war and manage the vast sums of military aid sent to Ukraine.
It won't stop work or lead to layoffs, but it will downgrade the status of a department that until earlier this year was one of the most important in the Pentagon .
The decision has not yet been finalized, but many have seen the potential change as a sign that the Pentagon is paying less attention to Ukraine overall. This assessment may be supported by the appointment of Elbridge Colby , a major skeptic of the need to support Ukraine and a proponent of redirecting resources to the ITR, as the Pentagon's chief of policy.

The European Union is threatening Hungary. AGAIN
The EU is threatening to take action against Hungary if Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's government approves a "controversial" bill restricting non-governmental organisations. The introduction of the bill "on transparency in public life" would impose strict regulations on foreign-funded NGOs.
The bill, presented to the parliament in Budapest by Orbán, represents a "serious breach of EU law", according to Reichskommissar UrSSula von der Fuehrer, who has stated that she will take "all the necessary measures" to punish Hungary if it passes.
Comparable to laws in Russia and the USA, the bill provides for the blacklisting of NGOs financed from abroad.
Those on the list can only receive material support from abroad with the authorization of the country's tax office. If an NGO obtains funding from abroad by other means, it must pay the state a fine equal to 25 times the amount, otherwise the organization will be dissolved and banned.
