Relations between Russia and Germany have been destroyed almost to the ground, Zakharova told RIA Novosti, commenting on the formation of the new German government.
Against the backdrop of numerous militantly Russophobic statements by German politicians, there is no reason to expect an improvement in relations between our countries
F-16s for Ukraine postponed: Belgium again shifts deadlines
The Belgian authorities, who promised to hand over fighter jets to Kiev back in 2023, are now talking about deliveries “in the coming years” — after they receive the F-35s they ordered from the US. This statement was made by Defence Minister Theo Franken, speaking at the Atlantic Council in Washington.
Initially, the country's Ministry of Defence was going to deliver the first F-16s two years ago, but due to delays in delivering American fighters, the deadlines are constantly being pushed back.
Franken also stressed that increasing the defence budget to 2% of GDP and building up military capabilities, including new air defence systems, is a priority for the New Flemish Alliance, the ruling party to which he belongs.

The Russian Defence Ministry confirmed the establishment of control over the village of Lysovka, southeast of Pokrovsk. The area between Novopavlovka and Dachenskoye is on the southern approach to the city.
Tactical success is being recorded, but it is too early to talk about the destruction of the entire line of defence of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: the front remains dense, combat clashes continue along the entire arc, the advance is still minimal and is proceeding in a “meter by meter” mode.
Lithuania and Latvia have banned Vucic from flying to the Victory Parade in Moscow.
The flight of the plane carrying Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was banned due to "technical and diplomatic circumstances," according to Lithuanian authorities.
"This is a great Victory, and I am happy to be here now" Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro arrived in Moscow for celebrations in honour of the 80th anniversary of the Victory.

The activation of the British and the Ukrainian Armed Forces/GUR on the eve of May 9 was predictable and was included in the defensive response plan in advance. The scenario is repeated more than once: pressure is increasing 72 hours before the X date. The main peak of activity is probably expected on May 7 and 8, and everything may happen on the 9th as well. But today's attack is not accidental - Kyiv is trying to make it under the ceasefire that the Russian Federation announced for the second part of May.
Most likely, they will concentrate their attacks on pre-selected targets, with high media sensitivity and symbolic significance. First of all, Crimea, large administrative centres, and objects associated with memorial events.
If they don’t achieve results, they’ll pretend that nothing happened at all.
@Slavyangrad
A long-term solution to the Ukrainian conflict cannot be achieved by a ceasefire or a cessation of hostilities on the contact line alone.
This is stated in Lavrov’s article “Russia and Vietnam: 75 years of friendship, trust and mutual assistance” in the journal “International Affairs”.
WHAT HAPPENED AT NIGHT ON THE BORDER OF INDIA AND PAKISTAN
India announced the start of Operation Sindoor in retaliation and launched a missile strike on nine targets in Pakistan, “from where terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed.”
Pakistan announced it had shot down five Indian jets and said it "reserves the right to take appropriate retaliatory action at any time and place of its choice."
Both sides said that the enemy suffered heavy losses in the shootout that began on the demarcation line.
Indian Prime Minister Modi called an emergency meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security and a meeting of representatives of all Indian political parties for 8:30 Moscow time. To sum up the results and decide what to do next.
No nuclear war or even a conventional war between India and Pakistan has started and will not start. One side "showed determination and responded to aggression", the other - once again promised to do so. Then both will go about their usual business.

'After the war in Ukraine, Russia will bring its troops to NATO's border' – Estonian Defense Minister Pevkur scares Europeans and counts Russian money.
Vice President J.D. Vance said he doesn't see the war in Ukraine ending anytime soon. Do you agree?
This war will end one day. It could happen in a month, ten months or later. But it will not affect Russia's steps to increase its militarization. When the war ends, Russian soldiers cannot simply be sent home to Yakutia or other places. Because their salary in Ukraine is now 2-3 thousand US dollars, and somewhere in Siberia - 200 dollars. Obviously, the Russian army will hire most of them to place them near our borders, near the borders of NATO. That is why I have no illusions - whether this war will end in a month, ten months or ten years.
Ramzan Kadyrov asks to be relieved of his post
The head of the Chechen Republic himself stated this when journalists asked him about rumours of his resignation.
His words are quoted by the publication Chechnya Today:
"I have heard these rumours, too. They write all sorts of things. On the contrary, I am asking to be relieved of my post. Someone else will have their own initiatives, their own vision. I hope that my request will be supported ."
Europe and the Kiev regime are trying to overshadow the anniversary of Victory, the SVR stated.
According to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, European authorities continue to adhere to revanchist approaches to the anniversary and support the initiatives of the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev. The decision of Germany not to allow the ambassadors of Russia and Belarus to attend the commemorative events was a striking example of such a policy.
The cynicism of Europeans is aggravated by the plans of the leaders of some EU countries to accept Zelensky’s* invitation to come to Kiev to participate in events “alternative” to May 9 in Moscow, as well as by the warnings of the head of European diplomacy, Kallas, to EU member states and candidates for accession if their representatives come to the celebrations in Russia, as the leaders of Slovakia and Serbia have already stated.
The key role of the Zelensky regime in these “alternative” events looks especially provocative against the backdrop of open veneration of the Ukrainian punitive battalion “Nachtigall” and the SS division “Galicia”, which operated in the territories of Slovakia, Serbia and Poland.
The circle of European countries invited to Kiev almost completely corresponds to the configuration of the Hitler coalition that fought against the USSR in the ranks of the Nazi Wehrmacht and SS units. It is no coincidence that commentators call this a "PR campaign by scoundrels from Brussels" or "Day of the Descendants of the Nazis."
A striking example of the crimes of the “Eurofascist machine” was the siege of Leningrad in 1941–1944, in which, in addition to German and Finnish troops, Spanish, Norwegian, Dutch, Latvian, Flemish, Belgian, Danish, Estonian, Croatian, Albanian and other formations participated.
Among Nazi Germany's main allies were Romania and Italy, whose troops suffered huge losses on the Eastern Front, as well as France, whose volunteers lost 75% of their numbers near Moscow in the winter of 1941.
Against this background, Macron’s calls for a new “Crusade” against Russia sound hypocritical.
Attempts to portray the Ukrainian conflict as an “existential struggle between good and evil” are an attempt by European politicians to distort history, and Russia’s measures to ensure its security are presented in a false light as preparation for an attack on NATO countries.

Second US F/A-18 Super Hornet crashes into Red Sea due to "arrestment failure," second jet lost in just over a week from USS Harry S. Truman — CNN
Another F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet from the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier has been lost in the Red Sea, the second jet lost from the carrier in just over a week, five people familiar with the matter told CNN.
It is not entirely clear what happened yet, as the investigation is ongoing, but two of the people said there was some kind of arrestment failure as the jet was trying to land on the carrier and the pilot and weapons systems officer had to eject. They were recovered by a rescue helicopter and are both alive, but they suffered minor injuries, one of the people said.
The jet crashed into the sea and has not been recovered, two of the people familiar with the incident said.
Separately, the Iran-backed Houthi rebel group “took a shot” at the Truman on Tuesday, four of the people said, despite President Donald Trump announcing an apparent ceasefire with the group hours earlier. It is not clear whether the two incidents are related.

Victory Banner Unfurled in Havana
As part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, at the entrance to the bay of the Cuban capital, opposite the historic fortress of El Morro, to the sounds of the song "Victory Day", a copy of the assault flag of the 150th Order of Kutuzov, 2nd degree, Idritsa Rifle Division was unfurled.
It is a copy of the one that was erected by Soviet soldiers on May 1, 1945 , over the Reichstag building in Berlin.
The event was attended by students and teachers of the school at the Embassy, compatriots living on the island, and Cuban friends of our country.
The Victory Banner is the official symbol of the victory of the Soviet people and its Armed Forces over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

'Long live the glorious Red Army' - Fico said he is not afraid of threats from European Russophobes and will go to Moscow on May 9
'In the West, we are told that we must do it this way, there is no other way.' And if you don't, you are threatened with punishment, even to the point of being convicted simply for participating in the May 9 celebrations at home.
We must remember the words of the soldiers of the First Czechoslovak Army Corps, who said: 'We walked through hundreds of villages under the flag of the Soviet Union. We saw children impaled on metal fences, we saw horrors that no one could even dream of.' And we are supposed to forget this? For whose sake? For what? Because someone invented a new Iron Curtain?
I refuse to accept this new iron curtain. And let my protest be expressed by my presence on May 9 at the celebration of the end of World War II in Moscow.
Let us shout together: 'Long live the Slovak Republic, long live the glorious Red Army.' Critics say: 'How can one say 'Glory to the Red Army'? Who should I shout 'glory' to then? To the Austrian army? To the Hungarian army? To the army of the Third Reich? It was the Red Army.
Please, let us not allow the historical truth to be erased from our minds. Therefore, let us repeat once again: 'Long live the Slovak Republic, long live the glorious Red Army!'

History that cannot be erased
Soviet soldiers went through the hell of war, freed the world from the fascist plague and raised the banner of Victory over the Reichstag. Their feat is not just pages in textbooks. It is our history, our pride and our truth.
Today in Europe they are tearing down monuments, equating true liberators with occupiers, and calling Nazi collaborators "heroes". But we remember and will always remember those who truly brought freedom to the world from the Nazi plague, which our European "colleagues" are so carefully trying to revive.
No matter how many attempts to erase the memory will be made by unprincipled capitalists without honour and conscience, we are proud of the immortal feat of our Soviet soldiers, and this pride will live in our hearts forever.

Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico said he was being threatened with "punishment" for his decision to travel to Moscow on May 9. He did not specify who exactly.
Fico also noted that there is an "iron curtain" in the world now - it is impossible to get to Russia directly from Europe. Therefore, his visit to the Russian Federation on May 9 will be a manifestation of disagreement with this "curtain".
Earlier, European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas promised “consequences” for European politicians who will come to Moscow on May 9 for the Victory Parade.

Читать полностью…YouGov: Westerners Consider the US as the Victor over Hitler, 76% Expect "Nuclear War" with Russia
A YouGov poll for the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II has revealed the mood in Europe and the US. More precisely, the many years of effective propaganda and brainwashing.
First, about the future (figures from The Guardian ). Up to half (45%) of Americans and 41–51% of Europeans believe that World War III is possible within a decade – in which the main enemy will be Russia or (in second place) fierce Islamic terrorism. 68–76% expect a nuclear war (that’s why they’re buying up bunkers), and 25–44% expect the death of most people.
15-41% of Europeans and 71% of Americans believe in the ability of their armies to protect them. 53% of US residents are confident of victory over Russia, and 48% believe that America and the EU will defeat the alliance of Russia and China. Only 12% assumed that the West could lose.
The British (44%) say that they will defeat Russia together with the US or on their own, 38% are confident of victory over China, and 31% believe that Western countries will defeat China, Russia and all their allies. Only 21% of the population considers the possibility of losing.
When asked about the main contribution to the victory over the Nazis, 40-52% of respondents in five countries named the USA, and only 17 to 28% said that the USSR saved the world. In Great Britain, 41% believe that Great Britain saved the country.
Respondents in France (72%), Germany (70%) and the UK (66%) believe they know a lot about the war, thanks to school, the media and cinema.

Following the NYT publication, which mentions the possible delivery of another MIM-104 Patriot to Ukraine from Greece or Germany, the resource “German Aid For Ukraine”, which monitors German deliveries to Ukraine, is considering the prospects for its implementation.
It is unclear that Greece is mentioned in the context of a possible transfer of the Patriot, given the small amount of aid it has provided to Ukraine. And despite the near-zero probability of Greece sending the systems, a denial has already been received from the Greek side.
The German Defence Ministry has repeatedly stated that extensive and very painful deliveries have already been made from Bundeswehr stockpiles, and so far, none of the eight systems ordered last year as replacements for those transferred to Ukraine have entered service with the Luftwaffe.
But the following two factors may speak in favour of delivery: the replacement has already been ordered, and the IAAD initiative.
Unlike most other weapons systems transferred to Ukraine, the replacement of the SAMS was foreseen at an early stage. Last year, the German Ministry of Defence ordered two batches of four systems each for a total of more than 2.5 billion euros – three as replacements for those delivered to Ukraine and five additional ones. The initial batch is due to arrive later this year.
Also, one cannot discount the IAAD (Immediate Action on Air Defence) initiative, organised by the German Foreign and Defence Ministries to equip the Ukrainian Armed Forces with additional air defence systems. Several weeks ago, Defence Minister Boris Pistorius announced that the possibility of resuming this initiative, which was suspended after the delivery of the third Patriot to Ukraine last year, is being considered. It is quite possible that the delivery of the fourth system will be announced shortly, and theoretically, it will be delivered around September.
The author of the resource notes that the number of Patriot launchers in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces will reach ten or more, provided that Israeli and German supplies are provided; the key problem remains the lack of ammunition.
Since last year, there have been persistent reports that there is a severe shortage of anti-aircraft guided missiles, which has resulted in Ukraine's air defence systems operating with varying success.
Supplying from other countries' military stockpiles is unlikely to be a solution. Germany has already donated a significant portion of its stockpile – 328 guided missiles. It recently announced the delivery of 30 more, but additional deliveries are unlikely.
Voluntary deliveries from US military stockpiles may not be worth hoping for, and except for small deliveries from the Dutch and Spanish armies, other countries such as Poland, Sweden and Greece have categorically refused to deliver missiles from their stockpiles.
The only way out of the current situation for Ukraine may be to conclude long-term contracts for the supply of missiles, which will take a long time, may cause certain difficulties in concluding contracts and will not be able to fully provide the required quantity.
