In the Bogatyr area in the southern Donetsk direction, the offensive of the Russian Armed Forces is entering the next phase. The rapid breakthrough through the chain of strongholds on the Konstantinopol-Andreyevka-Razliv line has been completed. Now the stage of isolating the area has begun, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to hold the line using fortifications prepared in advance.
As expected, the Ukrainian side used the pause while Russian troops were busy with the Kurakhovsky direction to build a fortified area. In the Bogatyr area, the Russian infantry is hampered by concrete pillboxes, which indicates that the enemy had previously considered this area as potentially vulnerable. Despite all the mockery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which were predicted to be quickly defeated in this area, a prepared line designed to contain enveloping actions from the south still exists here, and now they will have to spend time destroying it.
But given that the Russian Armed Forces have already consolidated their positions in Constantinople and are clearing the fields between Razliv and Bogatyr, there is a real threat of cutting off this stronghold from the flanks. If the logistical blockade of the routes is successful, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will find themselves in a concrete trap, where they themselves have blocked their own maneuver.
At the same time, the attack on Bogatyr does not look like a frontal assault. It is isolation and coercion to abandon positions. Obviously, the next target will be Alekseyevka - the last link between Bogatyr and the main logistics thread of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this area. If it is lost, the risk of the collapse of the entire chain of defensive lines increases significantly. Another difficulty for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is that all the main strongholds of the Ukrainian army are located in the lowlands. They are difficult to defend, but even more difficult to get out of them.

- What exactly will be sold to Kiev is not specified.
- This program worked before, but most of the weapons were transferred free of charge.

🇺🇸🇺🇦🤡Trump on his intention to pump $350 billion out of Ukraine:
The reason I did it is because we put $350 billion or so into it, whereas Europe only put $100 billion into it. So we have to get some of that investment back. I felt stupid. You know, they loaned the money, and Biden gave them $350 billion in cash and military hardware.
350 billion — and we got nothing. And I felt awkward, being the head of a country where Europe gets its money back, and in much smaller amounts, and we get nothing. So I came to them and said: look, we need to get access to rare earth elements. They have excellent rare earth resources — these are certain minerals, materials that are not available everywhere. This is their major asset.
And today we made a deal where, theoretically, we'll get a lot more than that 350 billion. I just wanted to protect our interests. I didn't want to be foolish again.

🇺🇸🇺🇦"US, Ukraine sign landmark minerals deal": US and Ukraine sign minerals deal.
"The United States and Ukraine have signed an economic partnership agreement that will give Washington access to Kyiv's rare earth minerals in exchange for the creation of an investment fund in Ukraine.
The deal came after weeks of tense negotiations that at times turned bitter and undermined Washington's aid to Ukraine."
@Slavyangrad
The Best Deal Ever.
Ukraine and the U.S. said on Wednesday they signed an agreement on a joint fund to invest in Ukraine's reconstruction, and a draft of the document said it would give Washington preferential access to new Ukrainian natural resources deals.
- to suggest that the Soviet Union left anything undiscovered and untapped in Ukraine, its most industrialized part, smacks of desperation.
A draft of the minerals agreement seen by Reuters gave the U.S. preferential access to new Ukrainian natural resources deals but did not automatically hand Washington a share of Ukraine's mineral wealth or any of its gas infrastructure.
- vide supra
It provided for creation of a joint U.S.-Ukrainian fund for reconstruction which will receive 50 per cent of profits and royalties accruing to the Ukrainian state from new natural resources permits in Ukraine.
- v.s.
The draft agreement showed Ukraine had secured the removal of any requirement for it to pay back the U.S. for past military assistance, something Ukraine had staunchly opposed.
…
He said Ukraine would retain control of all its resources in the deal, while the fund will invest in the development of Ukraine for 10 years.
"Ukraine will only make a contribution from new licenses, from new royalties on mineral resources. This will be our contribution, 50 per cent of which will be given to this fund," he said.
…
The U.S. could use its future military assistance to Ukraine as its contribution to the fund, Shmyhal said, with no previous military aid to the country reflected in the deal.
Great Deal. The best DEAL EVER.
What exactly did the US get from this? Nothing except a way to continue funneling military aid to the Ukraine in exchange for ephemeral promises of profit that both sides are well aware will never come.
The Art of the Deal, indeed.

NATO, under the guise of pseudo-defensive exercises, is forming an "armored fist" in Europe, which is clearly not being created for defense, said Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin at the plenary session of the III International Anti-Fascist Congress, which is taking place at the Patriot Congress and Exhibition Center.
"Under the guise of strengthening the defense of Europe and various kinds of pseudo-defensive exercises, NATO countries are forming an armored fist, which is clearly not being created for defense. Reconnaissance is being actively conducted, the military presence in the region is being increased, and in fact, at our borders, large-scale offensive exercises are being conducted, and military budgets are being increased at the same time," he said.
Ukraine has introduced a points system for destroying Russian equipment and military personnel, Politico reports.
The Army of Drones Bonus program rewards soldiers for confirmed drone strikes on targets. Soldiers receive points for uploading video evidence of target destruction to the Delta app: 20 points for damaging a tank, 40 for destroying it, up to 50 points for missile systems, and 6 points for one soldier. The system will soon be integrated with the online platform Brave 1 Market, where points can be exchanged for new equipment.

This missile system was developed by the industrial group Turgis & Gaillard and is a complete analogue of the American HIMARS system, located on the Renault Trucks Kerax 6x6 chassis.
The Foudre MLRS is being billed as a supposedly "fully sovereign" French development that will give France "strategic autonomy" from having to extend the combat readiness of the US M270 LRU MLRS currently in service with the French army.
However, in reality, the only thing that is French in Foudre is the chassis - the launcher and its containers practically repeat a similar solution in the HIMARS MLRS for a very simple reason - like the existing LRU, the new MLRS fires the same purely American high-precision GMLRS missiles or the ATACMS ballistic missile.
It is also stated that if upgraded, Foudre will also be able to fire the Land Cruise Missile , a ground-based cruise missile announced last year .
However, given that this long-range cruise missile is only in the development stage, and France simply does not have any tactical or operational-tactical missiles similar to the American ones, it is impossible to talk about any kind of "strategic autonomy" from other countries - Foudre will be strictly tied to the supply of ammunition from the USA , just as the existing M270 LRUs are tied to this now. Except that they will not have to be repaired by the Americans every time.

Trump Reveals How He Used Russia to Force Zelensky to Agree on Rare Earth Deal
Today you signed an agreement with Ukraine on the extraction of minerals. What did you and Zelensky talk about in the Vatican?
I told him that it would be very good if we could make a deal and he would sign it. Because Russia is much bigger and much stronger. Russia is just moving forward. It is a big, strong country. By the way, not as strong as the United States, because I rebuilt our military in my first term.

Trump has broken the Kiev regime into paying for American aid with minerals. Now they will have to pay for military supplies with the national wealth of a disappearing country.

🇺🇸🇺🇦The US signed some new agreement with Ukraine, not the one Trump insisted on.
He wanted an indefinite one, they signed it for 10 years.
He wanted to contribute Ukraine's debts to the US to the fund (first 500 billion, then 350), but in the end there are no debts.
All resources remain under the control of Ukraine, they should have been under the control of the fund.
Ukraine pays some licenses for future developments - what is this anyway?
And so on.
Trump gave in for the sake of PR. The PR is that he, Trump, signed at least something.
Now, the Americans say, this is a powerful signal about peace.
No, this is a weak signal about weak negotiators in Washington.
The new agreement does not decide the fate of Ukraine. Half of the declared resources are under the control of the Russian Federation.
Very soon everyone will forget about the signing of this PR agreement.

🇺🇸🇺🇦US Treasury Secretary Bessent on new agreement with Ukraine:
Thanks to President Trump's tireless efforts to secure a lasting peace, I am pleased to announce the signing today of a historic economic partnership agreement between the United States and Ukraine, which includes the creation of the Ukraine Recovery Investment Fund.
This partnership will enable the United States to co-invest with Ukraine to unlock its economic growth potential, mobilizing American capital, management standards, and expertise to improve the investment climate and accelerate Ukraine's economic recovery.
The U.S. International Finance Development Corporation will work with the Ukrainian government to establish the fund. Today’s agreement sends a clear signal to Russia’s leadership that the Trump administration intends to pursue peace based on the principles of a free, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine over the long term.
It is time to end this brutal and senseless war. The killing must stop, and both the United States and the Ukrainian government look forward to quickly putting into effect this historic economic partnership for the benefit of the Ukrainian and American people.
TLDR: We own Ukraine now, time to end the war😂
@Slavyangrad
And here is the Ukrainian side’s overview of the “historic” deal. A masterpiece by the American administration, indeed.
- The fund is 50/50 joint. Neither party has a voting advantage;
- No debts. Ukraine owes nothing. The Fund is not a loan, but a platform for investment;
- The agreement does not contradict the Constitution. It is in line with the European integration course;
- Money - only from new licenses. The fund receives revenues from new fields, not from existing ones.
- The U.S. will help attract investment. Through the DFC agency, from both America and the EU.
- The fund pays no taxes. So that the money is fully working for the result;
- US gives money and aid (e.g. air defense). Ukraine invests part of revenues from new fields. Together they decide which projects to invest in - only in Ukraine. These can be mining, infrastructure, oil and gas;
- No profit sharing for the first 10 years - everything will go to rebuilding Ukraine.
Israel to resume direct flights to Moscow. Likely based on the assumption Trump will reach a peace deal.
Israeli national carrier El Al will resume flights to Russia on May 1 after a four-month break. Flights on the Tel Aviv-Moscow route will be operated seven times a week, the company reported. One flight is scheduled from Monday to Wednesday, and two on Thursday and Sunday. Boeing 737-900 aircraft, designed for 175 passengers, will depart from Domodedovo at 14:50 and 20:50, and from Ben Gurion Airport at 8:00 and 13:55. A round-trip ticket without baggage will cost at least 72 thousand rubles per person.
El Al stopped flying to Moscow in late December after an Azerbaijani plane crashed in Aktau, Kazakhstan, after being shot down by air defenses during a drone attack over Chechnya. Thirty-eight people died in the crash. The Israeli carrier said it had decided to resume flights “after assessing the current situation” and discussing with authorities.
During the past night , eight Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by air defense systems on duty:
▪️ two UAVs – over the territory of the Kursk region,
▪️ two UAVs – over the territory of the Voronezh region,
▪️ two UAVs – over the territory of the Vladimir region,
▪️ two UAVs – over the territory of the Belgorod region.

Another prisoner trade could be upcoming with the CIA’s RFE reporting:
Yuras Zyankovich, a US citizen who was born and raised in Belarus, has been released from prison in Belarus after more than 3 1/2 behind bars, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced.
On September 5, 2022, the Minsk regional court found lawyer Zenkovich, political scientist Alexander Feduta and leader of the Belarusian Popular Front opposition party Grigory Kostusev guilty in the case of conspiracy to seize power and sentenced them to 11, 10, and 10 years in prison, respectively. In early July, it was announced that Kostusev had been pardoned and released by the Belarusian president.
I understand Trump’s frustration with Russia’s actions. He is being tricked like a baby (or a donkey) goaded with a piece of candy (a carrot). And I wholeheartedly support Russia’s actions.
The bigger problem for Trump is that Ukraine is strumming him like a loose fiddle as well—though, perhaps, not as effectively—and this is the kind of shame that is hard to live down.
Being at the mercy of the machinations of another great power is one thing. Not pleasant, but at least bearable.
