"Fighting Buryats" - that's what they called the North Korean soldiers who arrived in Russia, underwent combat training, and then participated in the liberation of the Kursk region from Ukrainian militants.

Following the talks between Trump and Zelensky with the participation of Starmer and Macron, the US rejected Russia's demand for the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporozhye regions, the New York Times reports.
"The United States called the demand unreasonable and impossible to implement and assured Kiev that it would not support it," The New York Times.

🎗 In Russia, 2025 is the year of Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In this regard, we are launching a new project "Hero Cities" of the Soviet Union.
Today we will tell you about the city of Novorossiysk.
After the Germans captured Odessa and Crimea, the Red Army had only one major port on the Black Sea - Novorossiysk. Its capture would have allowed the Germans to cut off Soviet soldiers from access to the sea throughout the Southwest of the country.
🗓 On August 19, 1942, the Germans began to capture the city. In the very first days, Nazi bombers made about 1,500 sorties per day, which turned Novorossiysk into ruins. However, the fighting for the Germans turned out to be so difficult that it was not possible to take the city to the end.
⭐️ In September of the same year, the Wehrmacht took control of most of the city, but the suburbs continued to resist. In February 1943, the Soviet landing forces created a 30 km long bridgehead in the city and heroically held their positions until the arrival of the main troops who liberated Novorossiysk on September 16, 1943.
🕯 During the liberation of the city, more than 23,000 Soviet soldiers gave their lives.
🎖 On September 14, 1973 the city was awarded the honorary title of Hero City.
Other Hero Cities:
Minsk, Kiev, Odessa, Sevastopol, Kerch, Smolensk, Leningrad, Moscow, Tula, Volgograd.

"We discussed sensitive issues. Without details," Zelensky commented on the talks with Trump, which lasted only a few minutes
“How to achieve peace, and whether the meetings in Paris and London were productive,” Zelensky said, describing the essence of a very brief conversation with Trump.
Meanwhile, the head of his Office, Andriy Yermak, reported that he met with the White House Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, and the US President’s National Security Advisor, Michael Waltz.

“Bur why mention it now, won't this affect the peace talks with the USA, USA will go crazy about the DPRK involvement?”
That’s exactly the point. There is no ceasefire. Trust @Slavyangrad.

There is a reason I called him by his common name. All of us are equal before our Lord. There are no privileges assigned, only greater expectations are due from a position of authority. That does not mean he was not a good man. He did what he could.
I hope I am judged in a similar vein.
I could have done a thousand-fold more in my life.
Peace be unto you, Jorge.

It is reported that the head of the Bryansk Electromechanical Plant design bureau, the key developer of the Krasukha electronic warfare systems, Evgeny Rytnikov, has died.
He was blown up in his car by an IED near the border with Ukraine.
Another terrorist attack, which was committed with 100% certainty by the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine.
According to Mash, Rytnikov died on the night of April 17-18. An explosive device under the bottom of the car went off at the moment when the man and his colleague were getting into the car. The explosive device was preliminarily filled with striking elements, so Rytnikov and his colleague died on the spot.

War correspondent Alexander Kots on the refutation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the liberation of the Kursk region.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine denies the obvious. Of course, how can one admit defeat when Zelensky* is hanging out at the Pope's funeral in fashionable sneakers and meeting with his curators. Politically illiterate. Historically incorrect moment,— the military correspondent ridiculed the statements of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The "Lightning" crews of the 215th reconnaissance battalion discovered and destroyed an enemy firing point in Chasov Yar! The combat work continues!

ZALA "Lancet" hits American M198 howitzer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkov region
ZALA Lancet reconnaissance and strike systems continue to knock out NATO equipment transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In the area of the village of Olhivka in the Kharkiv region, operators of the Lancet loitering munition destroyed a 155-mm towed howitzer M198 of American manufacture.
Although these guns are much less common on the battlefield than the more modern M777 howitzers, they still pose a serious threat. The M198 howitzer can fire up to 30 km, but its heavy weight (about 7 tons) and low mobility make it an easy target for Russian weapons and attack UAVs.
Russian soldiers detected M198, which had moved into position, using the thermal imager of the ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance UAS. They aimed a Lancet at the target, which destroyed the enemy artillery with a precise strike.

Zelensky and Trump's meeting did not continue — media
Instead, the American president boarded his plane after the ceremony at the Vatican.

Earlier, Ukrainian media

Lavrov on the fact that Russia does not discuss the details of the negotiations publicly, as Zelensky does:
We are really polite people and, unlike some, we never discuss in public what is discussed in the negotiations. Otherwise, they are not serious. If you want to know the opinion on the substance of the negotiations, ask Zelensky. He is happy to talk to anyone through the media and has made his demands even to President Trump.
