What looks like Starbucks coffee on Costco shelves is not the real deal. The bags clearly state that Nestlé uses the Starbucks name under license—meaning it’s not Starbucks-sourced or roasted beans. While Starbucks café beans like Pike Place are 100% Starbucks, the retail versions sold by Nestlé are simply made to "taste similar." Thanks to a 2018 Global Coffee Alliance, Nestlé can sell these imitation products using the brand name. Most customers have no idea.
