Offtopic group for casual talking about anything. @rules_for_python still apply (except for the ontopic rule)
No, it is the other way around
You need an application to build an image for and run as docker.
As you do not even have one line of code written (and i am sure of this), you need to master Python first
what is this bro?
Ok first today i will try to learn Docker first fully a-z completely then i will think about separating, i need to master all docker concept first then i will go to python will it a good choice?
https://hub.docker.com/_/debian#supported-tags-and-respective-dockerfile-links
Try to find out what these tags are for.
Do you know what an image tag is and what it's used for?

No, you don't install anything when a container starts. You build an image and use that image. The build can be as little as using a Debian image and doing the ffmpeg installation.

Whatever works for you. If you solve it with a container image, it'll work everywhere where that container runs.

In The Way of learning python i found, for audio, video processing and converting i need to use FFMPEG, but even i will use python there is no direct support for audio convert and so on i need to use FFMPEG by install this externally. So what do you say, in consistency i will install ffmpeg how best way ?
i am confused because in my this linux os i have ffmpeg installed in vps there i need to install this externally as a debian package so best docker ?
It depends on the task you're doing. Use a language best suited for it

I’ve been learning Python for many years, but I recently discovered that it handles very few requests per second. 😭😭😭 What do you think? Should we switch to a new language to become a better web developer?

i never had enough users to exceed free tier quota 😞

That's when the plans are bigger because you have actual users and want to make sure things keep working when you have a sudden surge of users.

Yeah, for what you do, that's totally sufficient. But if the plan ever becomes world domination, you might want to make it a separate service.

yaa i this is like after i will change my code and new version of my app i will make a tag so that later something wrong happens i can come back to the version right?
So you say i will use one container for this ffmpeg + flask app?
see i will write the instruction in the Dockerfile and then i will make image with -t right?
and then i will just run this after this will build ?
but i cannot gurantee what ffmpeg version it will install here ?
But for if you say i will run one container where i will run flask app with uv run main.py ...
There i need to install ffmpeg at start of this container with the instraction of:
RUN apt-get update && apt-get install -y ffmpeg`
Hello, apologies for the interruption. I am developing a Python web application that allows users to upload audio files (MP3, M4A, WAV) and converts them using FFmpeg. Since my local machine already has FFmpeg installed, I have been researching how to implement this in a Dockerized environment on my VPS.
I understand the best practice is to run one service per container. However, I am unsure how to apply this when my Flask application requires access to FFmpeg. I have found two potential approaches:
1. Install FFmpeg directly in the same container as the Flask application (e.g., using `
RUN apt-get update && apt-get install -y ffmpeg`
And BTW
You should know that Python is high-level language.
It does a lot of work for you (like managing memory, dynamic typing, and many more things), which makes it slower to execute but fast to write and prototype in.
That is the tradeoff, you want pure speed and performance - use a lower level language like C, C++, Rust - but it is YOU who now has to manage all of those that Python does for you automaticly.
There is always a tradeoff
You as a developer need to know about those and select the best tool for a job.
That's 2000 AT THE SAME TIME
it is not few.
And given you do not have anything built by now, i would focus on that.
As you do not have ANY users, that would be my first goal
See but they say if i include my Razorpay pay button in my static Github Page, i need to have a running server which get confirmation that i received a payment, is not Cloudflare workers is for this???
