When we discuss geopolitics, we can forget the human beings caught up in the bloodshed and nation games and slaughters. I was just speaking to a dear friend in Sweida. He told me that this is a nation game and is like the 'Hunger Games' - it is a question of survival and strategy to preserve Syria. The Syria that once was safe for everyone except the Takfiri elements, even during the 14 years of war. We talked about what happened on the coast and the ethnic cleansing of the Alawites - he reassured me:

Be sure we will not disarm. We will continue fighting until the last person falls with their weapon. We are defending our existence, our dignity, our women and our children".

I asked him about the Zionist intention - he knows they will exploit the situation but told me the majority are against this. However there may need to be a long term strategy to take into account the horrors his people are facing. He said;

It is a war of extermination and ethnic cleansing, carried out by a gang that has been handed over the rule of Syria, our Syria - to achieve the interests of certain entities that invest in global terrorism. They make Jolani a tool to perform their dirty missions for implementing geopolitical goals".

He went on:

Jolani has been incubated, trained and has lived as a terrorist. His mentality and emotions will never change, he is a terrorist. How can this terrorist be trusted to govern a multi-ethnic nation like Syria?"


When you talk to someone so clear headed and so patriotic, loyal to the values that Syria and Syrians once held so dear, I do feel some hope that these people will rebuild Syria and that the Takfiri cancer will be torn out of the beating heart of a country that has rejected multiple attempts, through history, by successive Empires, to destroy and break this country.

Finally he told me:

"We are humans, minority born, Syrian. We will not leave this country except as martyrs, buried under Syrian stone. We were forced to resist, to defend everything that is our existence"

Throughout Islamic history, Syria (al-Shām) has held a central place in both Sunni and Shia eschatology. It is a land of profound prophetic history — where Prophets walked, where empires rose and fell, and where, according to the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, events will unfold that shake the foundations of the earth before the Final Hour.

🕌 Blessed Beginnings, Turbulent Endings

The Prophet ﷺ is reported in Sunni hadith to have said:

“O Allah, bless our Sham and our Yemen.”
📘 Sahih al-Tirmidhi, Sunan al-Nasa’i

This prayer reflects the blessed nature of the land — a center of early Islam, home to prophets and saints. Shia scholars too recognize the sacred heritage of Syria — especially in its pre-Umayyad context — but also emphasize its transformation into a land of oppression during the rule of tyrants like Yazid and the Umayyads.

⚔️ The Sufyani: A Shared Figure of Trial

Both traditions speak of a tyrant who will emerge from Syria — the Sufyani.

While Shia and Sunni narrations differ in nuance, they converge on a powerful truth:

Syria is a stage upon which both trial and triumph are foretold.
From its shadows will rise both the oppressor and, ultimately, the savior.

May we stand united in preparing our hearts and communities for justice, in whichever corner of the earth it emerges

A video has recently surfaced showing an HTS militant publicly wailing and reciting for his fallen comrades—individuals whose actions have often sown chaos and division. This comes from the very same group whose leadership, including Julani, has mockingly claimed that “wailing and crying is a Shiite practice.”

Yet we, the followers of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them), mourn not for worldly ambitions nor flawed men, but for the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his immaculate family—those purified by Allah Himself in the Qur’an:

“Indeed, Allah desires to remove all impurity from you, O People of the House, and to purify you completely.” (Qur’an, 33:33)

Even prominent Sunni scholars such as Imam al-Shafi’i acknowledged the towering spiritual rank of the Ahlul Bayt. He famously said:

“If loving the Household of the Prophet is Rafdh (heresy), then let mankind and the jinn bear witness that I am a Rafidhi.”

The HTS’s hypocrisy is glaring: they shed tears for their own and call it humanity, but if we mourn the martyrdom of Imam al-Hussain (as)—the grandson of the Prophet ﷺ—they call it shirk?

Worse still, in their crusade to suppress this sacred love, they have even banned mourning for Imam Hussain (as) during Muharram and closed the shrine of Sayyida Zaynab (sa)—a woman of unmatched courage and dignity in Islamic history.

Is this not a betrayal of the Prophet’s legacy? Is this not a distortion of faith under the guise of tawheed?

True love for the Prophet’s family is not sectarian; it is foundational to Islam itself, and affirmed by both Sunni and Shia traditions. To mourn their suffering is to uphold the very soul of Islam.

✅ | You are forced not to talk about this sect in West Asia, which is not limited to takfirism but is also present within segments of non-takfiri Sunni Muslims. It fights the resistance, silences the message of Islam, and defends israel’s proxies while claiming to represent the ummah.
