Fearing legal trouble and public disgrace, Khan decided to divert attention by fabricating an acid attack case that would frame Jitendra and his associates.

Aqeel Khan, who had been absconding, has now been arrested. Both father and daughter have confessed to their crimes.

ISI sent Maulana Masood Azhar to Kashmir in 1994 with a fake Portuguese passport, claiming a Gujarati origin.

The ISI went to great lengths to secure his release, culminating in the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC814, which resulted in a prisoner swap that freed Masood Azhar.

Masood Azhar founded Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in the year 2000. JeM became a major player in Kashmir, attacking the Parliament in 2001, Pulwama, and Pahalgam.
