The Ruling on Wearing Pants for Men and Women. Sheikh Ibn Bin Baz (May Allah have mercy upon him)
The interviewer: What is the ruling on waring pants for men and women?
The Sheikh: I do not know there to be anything wrong with this. So long as they (the pants) are not designed in a manner that exposes (the shape) of the private parts or resemble that of the opposite sex, so male pant are not worn by women nor are female pants worn by men.
Likewise if the pants are designed in a manner that is specific to the Non-believers the Muslim should not ware them.
The important point here is that men and women both abstain and free themselves from clothing that resembles that of the opposite sex, whether it be pants or other than pants.
Similarly, they should not resemble the clothes that are specific to the Non-believers.
As for those clothing items that are not specific to the Non-believers then there is no problem with this.
The same also applies to those items that are neither specific to men nor women, like for example silver rings, there is nothing wrong with wearing them as they are not specific to anyone.
The interviewer: Some pants are designed to show off the private parts, O Eminent Sheikh?
The Sheikh: If these clothes show off the private parts and the body parts and attract people's attention then the woman should only wear them in front of her spouse.
The interviewer: How about her wearing them in from of her family members?
The Sheikh: Likewise, she should abstain from this so as to prevent trials taking place.

Hasan Somali حفظه الله ورعاه، mentioned a very beneficial point, he said, it is not a person's certificate or titles or which university you have graduated from that show a person is praiseworthy or even a Shaykh's praise for that individual but rather it is by way of a persons actions/efforts that show if he is praiseworthy/good. Look for example Aboo Talhah Daawood رحمه الله،Allaah grant him Firdaous, he translated Sharhus-Sunnah of Barbaharee over 20 years ago and books which connect the people to the Sunnah, likewise Aboo Uways رحمه الله رحمة واسعة, he didn't graduate nor did Aboo Talhah but look to their works and efforts, they were blessed (by Allaah). A lot of people talk but look at their efforts and works.

I want to finish by just reading a statement of Shaykh Rabee’, hafithahullaah, and this was in a link up that he did in the USA - it's recorded on tape - and so the Shaykh says:
When do we say about a man that he is Salafee?
Why? Because to say that someone is Salafee is making a judgement. Right? And so the Shaykh says:
Do not say about a man that opposes the manhaj of the Salaf that he is Salafee. Don't say that a man is Salafee until you are sure that he is upon the manhaj, that he is honoured by it, that he calls to it, that he loves and unites based upon it and hates and separates because of it.
Because this is our asl (fundamental principle); it's based upon those ahaadeeth that we mentioned right at the very beginning because this is love and hate for the Sake of Allaah, for the usool (fundamental principles) of Islaam, the usool of the Sunnah, from the affairs of 'aqeedah (creed), from the affairs of manhaj, so do not say about a man that he's Salafee until you are sure he is upon the manhaj, he's honoured by it, calls to it, he loves and unites based upon it and hates and separates because of it.
This is a Salafee.
But someone who claims that he is Salafee and defends ahlul-bid'ah (the people of innovation), he defends Sayyid Qutb, defends Hasan al-Bannaa, defends al-Maghraawee, defends Adnaan Ar'oor, defends Muhammad Hassan, defends al-Ma'ribee - these are mubtadi'ah (innovators), bilaa shakk (without a doubt), because the hujjah (proof) is clear against them and so in other words, so the Shaykh is saying: but someone who claims that he is Salafee and he defends ahlul-bid'ah and defends them against ahlus-Sunnah (the people of the Sunnah), this is not a Salafee whatsoever, not (a Salafee) whatsoever.
Whoever he is: ‘Arab, non-‘Arab, in the East, or in the West because Salafiyyah has special qualities, signs and affairs that differentiate its people from others in al-walaa (allegiance) wal-baraa' (disassociation), and al-'aqeedah, and da'wah and the stances that they take and the positions that they take.
All of these are signs that an individual's walaa wal-baraa' is upon the haqq (truth) and is for the sake of Allaah, subhaanahu wa ta'alaa.
<< A group from the Banoo Israa.eel went out until they came to one of their grave- yards, and they said: “If only we were to pray two rak`ahs, and make supplication to Allaah- the Mighty and Majestic -that He should bring out for us a man from those who have died, so that we could ask him about death.” He said: So they did so.
So, whilst they were in that condition, a man put his head out from a grave from those graves. He was a brownish person, with the mark of prostration between his eyes.
He said “O people what do you want with me? I died a hundred years ago, and the heat of death has not subsided from me until just now. So supplicate to Allaah- the Mighty and Majesticfor me so that He should return me to being just as I was”.>>
“Reported by Ahmad in “az-Zuhd”(16-17), Ibn Abee Shaybah in “alMusannaf”(9/62)-without the story, and likewise by al-Bazzaar in his “Musnad”(1/108/192: “Kashful-Astaar”): from ar-Rabee` ibn Sa`d al-Ju`fee :he heard it from `Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Saabit: from Jaabir ibn `Abdillaah who said: Allaah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said: …, and he mentioned it.
I say: The narrators in this chain are reliable, however there is a disagreement about whether Ibn Saabit heard from Jaabir. So Ibn Ma`een was asked: “Did `Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Saabit hear from Jaabir?” So he said: “No.” However Ibn Abee Haatim confirmed his having heard from him, so he said in “al-Jarh watTa`deel” (2/2/240): “He narrated from `Umar, but this is mursal; and from Jaabir, and it is connected.” And this is contrary to what he quoted in “alMaraaseel” (p.84), and this is more correct, because of what follows.
And the hadeeth was reported by `Abd Ibn Humayd in “al-Muntakhab minalMusnad” (q.152/1), with its full wording, and likewise by Wakee` in “azZuhd”(1/280/56), and by Ibn Abee Daawood in “al-Ba`th”(30/5), and in it Ibn Saabit clearly states that he had it narrated to him directly.
So the hadeeth is “Saheeh”, and the chain is fully connected, and all praise is for Allaah…”

Should We Read From the Books?
Question:
Do you advise the student of knowledge to read the books in the principles of Tafseer before reading the explanation, the meaning of the verses and the reasons they were revealed?
Answer:
Reading is insufficient my brother. It is a must that you study under the scholars. You must read the books in the principles of Tafseer, fiqh, Mustalah, Nahu and Arabic language, upon the scholars.
The fact that you build a library with all the different sciences then sit and read to yourself is not befitting. Rather there is more harm in this than benefit. If there is any benefit then the harms are greater.
