🇺🇸 The White House is, allegedly, furious with Bill Pulte for convincing President Trump to propose a 50-year mortgage plan.
Pulte, the Federal Housing Finance Agency director, presented a 3-by-5 poster board at President Donald Trump’s Palm Beach Golf Club. It showed former President Franklin Roosevelt under “30-year mortgage” and Trump under “50-year mortgage,” with the headline “Great American Presidents.”
A person near the situation said, “[Pulte] just sold POTUS a bill of goods that wasn’t necessarily accurate. [Pulte] said, ‘FDR did it, you can do it, it’s gonna be a big thing.’ But he didn’t tell him about all the unintended consequences.”
“Anything that goes before POTUS needs to be vetted,” said the person present for Pulte’s poster presentation. “And a lot of times with Pulte they’re not. He just goes straight up to POTUS.”
📝: After people got outraged, now Trump needs a scapegoat and Bill Pulte has to take the blame.

🇺🇸 Electric Bill Crisis Blame-Game Begins: Democrats Slam Data Centers, GOP Faults "Climate-Cult Ideology"
It only took politicians a little over a year to catch up to our Mid-Atlantic power bill crisis theme (read here), as the battle to control the narrative over surging electricity costs intensifies.
Democrats are pointing the finger at the explosion of data center buildouts and power-hungry server racks, while conservative politicians blame disastrous green-energy policies, specifically, the early retirement of fossil-fuel power generation plants and the rapid rollout of unreliable solar and wind generation.
On Monday, Sen. Bernie Sanders and several Democratic senators, including Sens. Blumenthal, Van Hollen, Markey, and Wyden, penned a joint letter to the Trump administration and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick about the adminstration's fast-tracking of AI infrastructure is creating "bidding wars" between households and trillion-dollar companies such as Meta, OpenAI, Alphabet, and Oracle for limited electricity supplies.
Democrats are correct that data centers are certainly fueling the power bill crisis across the Mid-Atlantic states. However, they are never able to tell the whole truth, conveniently leaving out that their climate crisis hoax led to the early retirement of fossil fuel generation plants, which in turn stripped the grids of now much-needed spare capacity. Goldman warned this past summer of "Price-Spikes & Blackouts."
In fact, these Democrats doubled down and blamed this mess on Trump's "assault on clean energy sources." Democrats need a major wake-up call: intermittent green power sources do not provide stable power for data centers. In fact, Spain's nationwide blackout last summer was centered on unreliable renewable energy.
In a recent note, we cited a Goldman Sachs report by analyst Carly Davenport that found "higher power bill inflation has been the most pronounced in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and California in the past three years." Please do note, these regions and states are governed by leftist politicians wearing climate crisis blinders, ones that even Bill Gates had to take off last month after he acknowledged the whole climate crisis narrative was fake news.

🇺🇸 Reporter: "Housing costs are out of reach and another thing which your Administration is trying to tackle for Americans, on average the median age of a first homebuyer is now up to age 40..."
Trump: "I ain't never heard of that, look you have to understand.."
Reporter: "Let me get to the question first, your housing director has proposed something which has enraged your MAGA friends which is this 50 year mortgage idea, again this caused a massive backlash among MAGA and they see it as a major giveaway to the banks which would prolong the time needed for Americans to buy a home. Is that really a good idea?"
Trump: "Its not even a big deal, I mean, you go from 40 to 50 years.."
Reporter: "30 to 50 years"
Trump: "(unintelligible)..you pay something less, you go from 30 to 50, some had 40 year and now they have a 50. In reality it means you end up paying less per month over a longer period of time. Its not like a big factor. It might help a little bit, but the problem is Biden increased the interest rates and I have a lousy Fed person who's gonna be gone in a few months".

🇬🇧❌🇺🇸 The United Kingdom has suspended some intelligence sharing with the U.S. over the Trump Admin's bombing of narcotrafficking vessels in the Caribbean Sea which the UK deems illegal.
The move happened because British authorities do not want to be complicit in those strikes.
The the UK, which controls a number of territories in the Caribbean where it bases intelligence assets, has helped the US locate vessels suspected of carrying drugs so that the US Coast Guard could interdict them, the sources said. That meant the ships would be stopped, boarded, its crew detained, and drugs seized.
The intelligence was typically sent to Joint Interagency Task Force South, a task force stationed in Florida that includes representatives from a number of partner nations and works to reduce the illicit drug trade.
But shortly after the US began launching lethal strikes against the boats in September, however, the UK grew concerned that the US might use intelligence provided by the British to select targets. British officials believe the US military strikes, which have killed 76 people, violate international law, the sources said. The intelligence pause began over a month ago, they said.

🇯🇵🇺🇸 Japan's biggest bank, SoftBank, dumped its Nvidia stocks worth 5.83 billion$
SoftBank Chief Financial Officer Yoshimitsu Goto characterized the Nvidia sale as part of the company’s broader asset monetization strategy rather than a negative view of the chipmaker’s prospects. The firm requires approximately $30.5 billion in capital for fourth-quarter investments, representing more funding activity than the previous two years combined.
The massive capital requirement reflects SoftBank’s determination to establish dominant positions across the artificial intelligence value chain. Beyond the OpenAI commitment, the company plans $6.5 billion for semiconductor firm Ampere and other strategic AI investments through its Vision Fund platform.
This asset rotation strategy allows SoftBank to maintain financial strength while pursuing aggressive investment opportunities in rapidly evolving AI markets.
SoftBank’s artificial intelligence strategy extends beyond software applications into physical AI implementations through robotics and autonomous systems. The company recently completed its $5.4 billion acquisition of ABB Robotics, establishing a major presence in industrial automation and manufacturing intelligence.

🇪🇺 President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, is creating her personal intelligence agency
This EU intel agency will be collecting information provided by every intel agency of every member state and centralize this information to improve the union's security.
The subject is controversial as, despite claiming unity in public, many of the EU's members are reluctant to share information with one another. The newspaper FT writes that France and most EU countries would be reluctant to share information with Hungary.
Austria has long been criticised of being the EU's most vulnerable area, highly exposed to Russian intelligence and spying.
So far, only France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the UK share intelligence with one another but that began in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks and in 2011 this exchange had been institutionalized in the form of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
This initiative started by von der Leyen is yet another power grab from member states to the central government in Brussels, with Trump's disinterest in defending Europe and Russia's hybrid war being given as reasons to centralize power even further.
As this new intel agency will be created by the Commission, other institutions like the European Parliament and the European Council won't have any overseeing powers with its activities and monitoring being known only by Ursula and her trusted confidants.

🇺🇸🇸🇴 A Somali source in Maine offers this explainer on the clan dynamics unfolding in Maine/U.S. politics:
The Darood clan dominates Somali political representation in Maine but by population, other clans have massive presence but for some reasons the Darood LOVE power. People including figures like Ilhan Omar, Deqa Dhalac, Yusuf Yusuf, Omar Fateh, Safiya Khalid, Abdullahi Ali are from the same sub-clans of Darood (Ogaden and Majeeteen). In Somalia, however, the Darood are just one of the four major clans—alongside Hawiye, Rahanweyn, and Dir—without overall dominance.
Somali immigrants from these other clans, particularly in Minnesota's large diaspora, have grown resentful of Darood's rising influence in U.S. politics. For instance, when Nasri Warsame (non-Darood) ran for office in Minneapolis back in 2021, Darood-aligned groups reportedly blocked him and supported an Indian-born woman instead, preferring a non-Somali over someone from a rival clan.
This intra-clan rivalry has led Hawiye, Rahanweyn, and Dir members—including those from Somaliland (which flies its own flag and seeks independence from Somalia)—to back non-Somali candidates. They supported Jewish incumbent Jacob Frey for mayor over a Somali opponent from a different clan, prioritizing clan loyalty over ethnic or religious solidarity. So yeah haha many Somalis voted for the Jew over a Muslim Somali. Go figure

🇺🇸 Fannie Mae removes minimum credit score requirements from Desktop Underwriter (DU)
Fannie Mae will remove minimum credit score requirements for loans submitted through its DU system starting Nov. 16. This means that the current 620 minimum representative or average median credit score will be removed for new loan case files created on or after that date.
Instead of applying a minimum score, DU will use its own analysis of borrower risk factors to determine loan eligibility.
Fannie Mae also updated requirements for documenting nontraditional credit and homebuyer education. The DU system will notify lenders when they need to establish a nontraditional credit history or require homebuyer education in cases where a borrower has no traditional credit or installment account on record.
These changes make it easier for Americans with poor credit scores to become eligible for loans. Such a change however caused concerns among bankers who are legitimately worried about the ability of Americans to pay back the loans they can grant.

🇺🇸 BlackRock got scammed out of another loan, this time worth 150 million $
Two weeks ago, the world learnt that BlackRock lent 552 million $ worth of cash to a private equity fund that didn't exist.
Now, Bloomberg learnt of another scam. Renovo Home Partners, a home improvement company doing regional kitchen and bathroom remodeling created by private equity firm Audax Group in 2022 — abruptly filed for bankruptcy last week, indicating it plans to shut down.
BlackRock held the majority of Renovo’s roughly $150 million of private debt, while Apollo Global Management Inc.’s MidCap Financial and Oaktree Capital Management held smaller chunks, according to people with knowledge of the matter, who asked not to be identified discussing a private transaction.
BlackRock assessed Renovo Home Partners' debt just this past October and its assessment was solid rating it "100 cents out of every dollar".
"When you see one cockroach, there's probably more." Jamie Dimon said this during JPMorgan's October earnings call and he wasn't joking. He was warning that the private credit market has gotten so loose with underwriting that when companies start defaulting, it won't be isolated.
This validates Dimon's warning. First Brands already failed. JPMorgan ate $170 million on Tricolor. Now Renovo's gone. The $2.5 trillion private credit market is full of overleveraged companies that looked solid under loose underwriting standards and inflated valuations. Renovo certainly won't be the last one.
