As I covered at the end of “A Fighting Chance” the Brazillification of the U.S. spells doom for any scientific innovation. All one needs to do is look at the Nobel laureate map. Quoting Futurist Right:
“The maintenance of stability in the United States, and the integration of White-passing Latinos may indeed come at a not insignificant cost — as reports suggest, demographic change is a significant threat to scientific innovation.
Some degree of intermixing is tolerable, but once a certain threshold has passed where a chunk of the population shifts to an off-white majority, innovation slows and stops. There are 190 Million Whites in Latin America, but most of these Whites are now 20 - 30% indigenous and so whatever potential these bloodlines may have had for the scientific achievement Whites show nearly everywhere else is basically dead. The continent, as a source of scientific innovation is dead.
Ok, no that’s not true, there are cool natural resources to be studied there. Anglo-Whites all over the world who almost never reproduced with Natives, thrive at levels comparable to or exceeding home. But White Latin America is a museum piece.”

— 🇺🇸/🇨🇳 NEW: The 2025 'Democracy Perception Index' survey reveals that, for the first time, global perceptions of China are more positive than those of the United States
Both Russia and China's global reputations have improved since 2022, while the U.S. has experienced a sharp decline since 2023.
Additionally, Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin seem to be more popular globally than Donald Trump, whom over half of the world views negatively.
According to the same survey, Israel is regarded as the most disliked country in the world.

➡️ His arrest is connected to the case of Sweden’s new National Security Advisor and former Ambassador to Ukraine, Tobias Thyberg, who was forced to resign within 24 hours of his appointment last week after somebody mailed the government “sensitive photos” of Thyberg from his old account on the gay dating app Grindr.
🇵🇱🇷🇴🇵🇹 Sunday’s far-right stress test from Bucharest to Lisbon, via Warsaw
The EU faces a political stress test this weekend as voters in Poland, Romania, and Portugal head to the polls in what is being dubbed the EU’s 'Super Sunday'.
Few expect possible gains by the far right to trigger an immediate political earthquake in the European Council, where EU leaders set the bloc’s political direction. Yet the ballots will offer a snapshot of how far populist forces can push into Europe’s political mainstream.

🇺🇸 Former FBI Director James Comey under investigation for post seen as a potential threat to Trump's life
The Department of Homeland Security and Secret Service are investigating a social media post by former FBI Director James Comey that several U.S. officials interpreted as calling for the assassination of President Donald Trump, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Thursday.
In a now-deleted post on Instagram, Comey shared a photo of what he described as a "shell formation" on a beach that formed the numbers "8647." The post was swiftly condemned by administration officials, Republican lawmakers and Trump allies who said it blatantly targeted Trump, the 47th president of the United States.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, "eighty-six" can informally mean "to get rid of."

Scientists turn lead into gold for 1st time, but only for a split second
In a breakthrough that would make medieval alchemists envious, scientists at Europe's Large Hadron Collider have successfully transformed lead into gold, producing 89,000 atoms per second.
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is a giant particle accelerator that smashes atoms together at super-high speeds. Scientists there have found a way to knock three tiny particles called protons out of lead atoms, turning them into gold atoms.

🇨🇳📊 China’s manufacturing dominance has very little to do with being “cheap”.
China’s labor costs are rapidly approaching developed economy prices.
Things are made in China because they’ve spent 50 years developing infrastructure, technical expertise, deep supply chains, extensive access to credit, and a conducive environment to doing business for foreigners (at least up until 2019).
If this was all about cheap products, Tesla’s gigafactory would be in Mumbai and not Shanghai.

🇰🇷 Scandal in South Korea
South Korea’s eight Daegu-class frigates, built between 2015 and 2023 by Hanwha Ocean (formerly Daewoo Shipbuilding) and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, have come under scrutiny for structural defects affecting operational readiness.
An investigation by the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) found cracks and leaks in the fuel lines of all eight frigates, caused by low-strength alloys that deviated from design specifications.
A Defence Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) official said, “The funds allocated by the navy for the repairs totaled several billion won.”
DAPA stressed that Hanwha Ocean bears full responsibility, stating, “There is no excuse for the defects,” given the company’s oversight role over subcontractors.
The defects were severe enough to potentially render all eight frigates inoperative, prompting the navy to divert emergency funds to replace the affected fuel lines.
