🇷🇺🇺🇦 According to The Economist, Russia is now producing so many attack drones that what once took a month 300 Shahed drones now takes less than three days. Documents suggest plans to ramp up to 500 drones per day.
That means swarms of 1,000 drones could become a reality, overwhelming Ukraine’s air defences already struggling with interceptor shortages and limited Western support.
Already 300 drones in one wave is a lot it's overwhelming as it is. Hitting 500 a day might sound ambitious, but at this rate, we could very well see it within the next 6 to 12 months.
This isn’t just a warning for Ukraine. NATO should be paying close attention too if a future conflict ever breaks out, these swarm tactics could be used far beyond Ukraine.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Financial Times: Russia is now producing missiles and drones faster than it uses, stockpiling reserves and ratcheting up pressure on Ukraine’s stretched defences.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Ukraine is also facing increased missile and drone strikes, including cruise and ballistic missiles and Shahed-type drones, aimed at overwhelming air defences. The reported shortage of PAC-3 interceptors further exacerbates the challenge. High-precision missile usage has surged to unprecedented levels, while drone deployments in early 2025 reached record highs. Ukraine needs cheaper solutions, especially for the Shahed-type threat. For missiles, there are no easy fixes. Russia is producing a lot more long-range precision missiles than the West is producing interceptors.
Russia’s strategy is one of cumulative attrition: continuous pressure through relentless missile/drone attacks very often aimed at civilian populations, sustained troop replacements enabled by ongoing recruitment, and increased production of precision munitions. After a brief pause earlier in the year, Ukraine again faces difficult weeks ahead.

🇸🇱🙈🦠 Sierra Leone reports more than 3,000 mpox cases, 14 deaths
The number of cases of mpox registered in Sierra Leone since the beginning of the year has hit 3,011, with 14 dead of the disease, according to new government data.
All of the regions in the west African country have now registered cases, according to the latest health ministry figures released late Friday.
The new figures mark a nearly 50-percent rise in registered cases since the previous update 10 days ago, on May 13, when 2,045 cases and 11 fatalities were registered since the start of the year.

The IDF had previously announced that five divisions are operating in Gaza, amounting to tens of thousands of troops.

🇺🇸🇨🇳🇮🇷⚡️- China and Iran have launched a new rail corridor that cuts shipping time to 15 days, compared to 40 by sea. This allows both Chinese goods and Iranian oil to bypass the Malacca Strait and other US Navy-controlled waters, as well as speeds up delivery to European markets and China. The new route challenges US efforts to prevent unrestricted Chinese access to oil and markets.

🇺🇸🇹🇷🇸🇾 Tom Barrack, U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Türkiye and Special Envoy for Syria: A century ago, the West imposed maps, mandates, penciled borders, and foreign rule. Sykes-Picot divided Syria and the broader region for imperial gain—not peace. That mistake cost generations. We will not make it again.
The era of Western interference is over. The future belongs to regional solutions, but partnerships, and a diplomacy grounded in respect. As President Trump emphasized in his May 13th address in Riyadh, ”Gone are the days when Western interventionalists would fly to the Middle East to give lectures on how to live, and how to govern your own affairs."
Syria’s tragedy was born in division. Its rebirth must come through dignity, unity, and investment in its people. That starts with truth, accountability—and working with the region, not around it.
We are standing with Türkiye, the Gulf, and Europe—this time not with troops and lectures, or imaginary boundaries, but shoulder-to-shoulder with the Syrian people themselves. With the fall of the Assad regime the door is open to peace—by eliminating sanctions we are enabling the Syrian people to finally open that door and discover a path to renewed prosperity and security.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 The situation in Kyiv metro amid intense Russian strikes on Ukraine.
🔗 Clash Report
🇷🇺🇺🇦 Russian forces conducted one of the largest combined drone and missile strikes of the war against Ukraine on the night of May 23 to 24, but used fewer missiles than in previous large-scale combined strikes.
Additional Key Takeaways:
Ukraine and Russia conducted a second round of prisoner-of-war (POW) exchanges on May 24 as part of a larger 1,000-for-1,000 exchange agreed upon during recent bilateral negotiations in Istanbul.
Russian officials will reportedly submit a draft document of their conditions for peace in Ukraine following the conclusion of the POW exchanges, although Russia's conditions are unlikely to be anything short of Ukraine's full surrender.
Russian forces have significantly expanded their salient southwest of Kostyantynivka in recent weeks and established sufficient positions to launch an offensive operation toward Kostyantynivka from the south or to support the envelopment of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad from the northeast in the coming weeks and months.
The Russian salient southwest of Kostyantynivka is likely sufficient to support a future Russian offensive operation toward Kostyantynivka or Pokrovsk, but Russian forces will have to make further advances from Chasiv Yar and Toretsk and west of Pokrovsk before Russian forces will pose a significant threat to either of these towns.
Russian forces recently advanced near Lyman, Toretsk, and Novopavlivka.

📝 BorealBaron: This study highlights something already established that could serve as a reference for a future remigration: the mass expulsion of the Moriscos (those with North African heritage who had converted to Christianity), beginning in 1609, not only removed lineages from the time of the Muslim invasion but also families with roots going back to the Visigothic and Roman periods, making the country less North African than it had been in millennia. Matter for consideration...
