How to train your brain to develop iron discipline - backed by science
Do you find it hard to stick with it when things get uncomfortable? It's not you - it's your brain.

Your ability to persevere, to do things that are unpleasant, depends largely on one area of the brain: the anterior midcingulate cortex (aMCC). The more often you overcome resistance - be it through hard workouts or concentrated work - the stronger your aMCC becomes. And the best thing is: you can actively train it.
🧠 Why is discipline so hard?
If your brain is constantly getting dopamine from social media, sugar or other quick rewards, you are setting your baseline dopamine level too high. Productive work then feels like torture because it releases relatively little dopamine.
