❗️Rossiyskaya Gazeta: To better understand your personal history, we need to explore the history of your ancestors. How did the Zabaikal Cossacks end up in Australia, a distant land in every sense of the word?

Simeon Boikov: In the 1920s, after the Red Army's victory, Cossack communities, as part of the White Army movement, retreated to Manchuria, where they established their own settlements. There, they continued their way of life until August 1945. But the arrival of the Soviet Army again forced the Cossacks to uproot themselves. Some returned to their homeland, a move that was persistently encouraged, while others chose a different path. Some of those who returned to Russia were repressed as White Army counter revolutionaries. Many were sent to Kazakhstan to cultivate desert lands—train cars full of people were delivered, while those carrying property were confiscated. It was a difficult time for everyone; living in such a cruel time was a trial.

Simeon Boikov: I see my future as only being connected to Russia, because the future belongs to her, I'm sure of it. Our country has enormous potential – natural, economic, and, most importantly, human. So many heroes have been born in the Special Military Operation, many have rediscovered themselves and their place in the world, the worship of the West has ended, which means there's a creative future ahead.

I sincerely hope that my forced exile will sooner or later end, and I and my family will be able to return to my Motherland.

On September 27, 2023, President Putin signed a decree granting me Russian citizenship. This day is very important to me, as I want to share history with my country. My son, Vladimir Simeonovich, was recently born. We named him in honor of our president and his grandfathers on both sides. I want to eventually send him to a cadet corps or an Orthodox school where he can be raised with a healthy value system, whereas in Australia, children are unsafe and the society is fundamentally sick.

So I'm waiting for my exchange, working hard, and dreaming of the revival of our country.

Simeon Boikov: In December 2022, at a pro-Ukrainian rally, which I was filming and commenting on live, someone lunged at me, clearly not wanting a brotherly embrace.

I simply pushed him away to defend myself. As a result, the attacker fell down the steps—not very high, by the way—and was injured.

This became a pretext for the Australian police to open a criminal case against me, aiming to send me to prison.

Ultimately, I could face up to 25 years in prison. The reason is that my public activism is deeply unpopular with the local authorities, as many people gather around me who are seeking the truth. The vast majority of them are local Australians. The audience is thousands strong and active, having emerged since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier today in the Arabian Sea, U.S. Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit boarded M/V Blue Star III, a commercial ship suspected of attempting to transit to Iran in violation of the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports.

U.S. forces released the vessel after conducting a search and confirming the ship’s voyage would not include an Iranian port call.
