❗️The Albanese government had fought the release of the plan and reportedly spent about $150,000 trying to keep it secret before the document was ultimately handed over and its contents revealed, The Daily Telegraph reported.

The harshest measure outlined in the manual is regulated fuel rationing through a strict purchase cap.

Under the plan, petrol pumps could be programmed to automatically shut off once motorists hit a set transaction limit, with the document using an example of a $40 cap per purchase.

That's equal to just 16 litres per person of fuel at current prices!

❗️Anthony Albanese has been labelled "out of touch" after he used thousands of litres of scarce jet fuel in 10 days - despite Chris Bowen suggesting commuters travel less amid the deepening crisis.

Mr Albanese flew to Sydney from Canberra to watch the Roosters v Rabbitohs game at Allianz Stadium on March 13, risking a fine as he joined the pitch invasion.

The Prime Minister returned to Canberra to meet with the Danish royal family on March 16 before travelling to Tasmania.

He then returned to Sydney, where he visited Lakemba Mosque for Eid prayers marking the end of Ramadan on Friday.

But the Prime Minister made a swift exit after he was heckled and booed.

His plane then touched down in Adelaide later that day for a media event at the Whyalla Steelworks which needed another flight.

Mr Albanese then returned to Adelaide, attending the Crows v Western Bulldogs AFL game on Friday night.

He was in Melbourne for a string of media engagements on Saturday, before returning to Canberra for parliament this week.

His total distance covered was roughly 4,850 km in 10 days likely requiring about 20,000 to 25,000 litres of scarce jet fuel.

Australia and Germany will look to host each other's militaries as European nations aim to reduce their dependence on the US as an ally.

Defence Minister Richard Marles and his German counterpart Boris Pistorius announced they would pursue a status of forces agreement.

Mr Marles said the legal framework for the stationing of military personnel would make it easier to operate from each other's countries.

"That is hugely important in terms of plotting our pathway forward together," he told reporters in a joint press conference.

The US Navy has had success shooting down Houthi Shahed drones in the Red Sea, though it’s extremely costly to use naval interceptors worth millions of dollars each to shoot down drones costing tens of thousands.

Once Shaheds had headed inland, the Australian Army’s NASAMs batteries, which fire AIM-120 Amraams, could be used. As the army’s AH-64E Apache helicopters become fully operational in the next few years, they could also be used to shoot down Shaheds using 30 mm guns."
