❗️A film about the "paratrooper priest" Father Mikhail Vasilyev will be presented by the film company "Paradigrama" in the fall of 2026.

Filming continues for the biographical documentary drama (4 episodes of 50 minutes each) about the Hero of Russia, the "paratrooper priest" Archpriest Mikhail Vasilyev (1971-2022).

A graduate of the philosophy faculty of Moscow State University, he became the first military chaplain in post-Soviet Russia, served in about 30 "hot spots," and his biography reflects almost the entire modern military history of the country.

Historical reenactments have already been filmed, recreating episodes of Father Mikhail Vasilyev's service as a military chaplain in Donbass, Syria, the Chechen Republic, and Yugoslavia.

Filming took place at MosKino studios, and to gather material, the film's director and screenwriter Elena Piskareva visited Donbass.

Many of the film's creators personally knew Father Mikhail.

The project's director of photography was Maksim Shinkorenko. The producers were Anastasia Legoida and Elena Piskareva.

The "paratrooper priest" died in the line of his pastoral duty in the special military operation zone on November 8, 2022, but managed to raise a whole generation of military chaplains in modern Russia, as well as six of his own children.
