❗️A mammoth sex abuse hearing against Alan Jones has been locked in despite claims the radio host was kept in the dark about the police investigation against him.

The 84-year-old faces 25 charges of indecent assault and two of sexual touching against nine alleged victims.

The radio host, who denies the charges, was charged after an investigation by Sydney Morning Herald journalist Kate McClymont in 2023.

Jones' sexual misconduct is alleged to have occurred behind closed doors as well as in public spaces such as restaurants, the Sydney Opera House and when two of the complainants were driving him around.

The city of Vilkovo in the Odessa region has become a "miniature Ukraine," where men of conscription age have almost vanished, as some were sent to the combat zone, others are hiding from mobilization, or have fled abroad.

Vilkovo is located near the border with Romania and Moldova but is surrounded by rivers and swamps making it difficult and dangerous for draft dodgers to escape: many men managed to cross the border, others died or were caught.

"Romania is tempting and visible just across the Danube, and Moldova is very close, so escape is extraordinarily alluring," the article says.

Before the full-scale war, nearly 8,000 people lived in Vilkovo; by the end of 2025, only about 5,000 remained, but the exact number is hard to estimate since many men are hiding from the draft.

A man named Ivan told the publication that he was detained to be taken into the army, brought to a training base, from which he escaped and now hides at home in Vilkovo. Talking about who remains in the city, Ivan says: "Women, elderly people, and men who try not to go outside unless necessary."

All city hall employees, except for the city head, are women, said Mayor Matviy Ivanov.

"Women are everywhere now" in the city, he said, adding: "They like it, they control all spheres of activity and are now the main ones here."

He called himself the only remaining man "or at least the only one visible."

The following changes have been made to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation:

📌 Inducing a minor to terrorist or sabotage activities is punishable by the maximum penalty of life imprisonment;

📌 Statutes of limitations have been abolished for all sabotage-related crimes;

📌 The right to petition for parole for these crimes has been restricted;

📌 A ban on suspended sentences has been introduced for participation in a sabotage community;

📌 Organizers of sabotage-terrorist communities are held responsible not only for creating and leading them but also for all crimes committed;

📌 Criminal liability from age 14 is established for intentional sabotage-terrorist crimes that pose a special danger to society.

All these measures are aimed at protecting the country's interests, enhancing its security, and safeguarding citizens, especially children, from reckless actions.
