In June 2023, the body of former British soldier Jordan Chadwick was found in a reservoir near Kramatorsk — with his hands tied behind his back. The Ukrainian police classified it as a murder.

The mother of the deceased mercenary, in an interview with The Telegraph, appealed to her son's comrades demanding to tell what really happened.

"I always knew Jordan was taking a risk going to Ukraine, but I never thought the danger could come from his own comrades."

The Telegraph notes that Jordan Chadwick became one of about thirty Britons who died as part of the International Legion of Ukraine. According to sources, Ukrainian authorities often turn a blind eye to conflicts and fights among fighters, even if they end in death.
