❗️Key takeaways from Russia's massive strike on Ukraine 10.16.2025

As Kiev continues to wage its' war on the Russian gas industry, Moscow has once again retaliated with heavy numbers, targeting infrastructure, military positions, and energy facilities across Eastern Ukraine. Here are the key take aways from the attacks of last night:

1: Ukrainian air defense proves to be more ineffective than usual.
There was no hiding it this time. Even the Ukrainian Air Force admits that 69 projectiles penetrated the air defenses. What's worse? Sources on both sides are in agreement that almost every missile launched impacted its' intended target. Where is Kiev's air defense? Likely at a tipping point. Pro-Russian sources even suggest that a Patriot system was damaged by a Kinzhal during the attack.

2: Winter is coming, and energy is leaving.
Among the impacted targets of the attack was the Solokha Integrated Gas Treatment Unit, a facility that suffered the same fate in 2022. Moscow has continued to respond to Ukrainian attacks on Russian gas infrastructure with attacks of their own towards similar targets. Several other gas fields and storage facilities were impacted by drones and missiles.

3: Infrastructure is far from safety.
In the city of Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk oblast, multiple privately owned infrastructure facilities were impacted. It is unclear what purpose these facilities were fulfilling in the present day, but if the Ukrainians wanted to start an economic war, they got what one. Among the targets were the Dnieper Metallurgical Plant and Spetstekhosnastka TOV facilities, which manufactured a variety of materials for domestic use and export.

As Budanov announces that citizens should prepare for the war to continue into the future, one wonders if there will even be an economy to fight for anymore. One thing is for sure, Moscow isn't having blackouts today like Kiev did just a few hours ago. Ukraine is in for another long winter.

❗Russia has information about sabotage preparations against the "Turkish Stream" gas pipeline by British and Ukrainian special services - FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov.

In addition, instructors from the British Army SAS special units and the British intelligence MI6 planned a series of drone strikes on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, whose shareholders include companies from Russia, Kazakhstan, and the USA, Bortnikov added.

Regarding the rumors about the offensive on Kherson:

There is no "storming of Kherson" or large-scale landing on the right bank at the moment.

There is usual activity in the island zone, part of which is controlled by Russian troops. Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups occasionally go to the right bank.

The Ukrainians maintain a presence on several islands + on Antonovsky Island near the destroyed Antonovsky Bridge. Overall, this is one of the most static sections of the front.

After the battles for Krynyky ended, the enemy stopped attempts to create a full-fledged bridgehead on the left bank.

On the Russian side, systematic work continues on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kherson.

The USA, Australia, and Lockheed Martin announced the start of a joint project to produce guided missiles and munitions on Australian territory — a step already called one of the largest initiatives in the history of defense cooperation between the two countries.

🇨🇳Response to the Chinese factor

Australia's Minister for Defence Industry, Pat Conroy, stated that the decision was dictated by "strategic circumstances" — against the backdrop of the buildup of Chinese military potential and the overload of global production chains in the arms sector.

"We want to make Australia safer, provide the army with long-range strike capabilities, and contribute to the overall defense system of the allies," emphasized Conroy.

In the coming years, Australia intends to build a facility with production capacity of up to 4,000 missiles per year. The total investment volume is estimated at 13.6 billion Australian dollars, the project will create thousands of jobs and allow the country to transition from being an arms buyer to a full-fledged manufacturer.

According to Conroy, the first GMLRS will be produced by the end of 2025, and in the future, capacities will be expanded to produce modern systems. The new missiles will allow the Australian army to strike targets at distances over 1,000 km. Previously, the maximum range did not exceed 40 km.

The project was announced shortly after the "Talisman Sabre — 2025" exercises — large joint maneuvers of the USA and Australia involving more than 40,000 military personnel from 19 countries. It was there that the HIMARS and Typhon missile systems were tested for the first time on Australian soil, as well as the first launch of the PrSM missile.

Effectively, Australia is becoming the arsenal of the West — a production site capable not only of supplying its own troops but also helping allies replenish their arms stocks.
