❗️Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson are facing contempt of court charges over on-air comments made about the Erin Patterson mushroom case.

ABC’s Mushroom Case Daily, a podcast summarising each day of the trial, was accused of breaching a suppression order earlier this month, after naming specific witnesses in an episode.

The offending podcast was live on ABC’s various platforms for 24 hours, before being removed, and had been downloaded by tens of thousands of listeners.

The show was the most-listened-to podcast in the country at the time of the breach.

⚡️Remember @AussieCossack got a 10 month maximum security jail sentence in 2022 when he named paedophile priest Alexis Rosentool who was hiding his identity under a suppression order. 3 years later on the 20th of June 2025 it was indeed confirmed that Aussie Cossack was right and Father Alexis Rosentool was found guilty on all counts of child sexual abuse.

To this date nobody has ever got 10 months jail for breaching a suppression order. Aussie Cossack's sentence was the most severe in Australian legal history despite the fact that Aussie Cossack did NOT name any witnesses, victims or publish details that could have jeopardised the successful prosecution of Alexis Rosentool.

Why did Aussie Cossack cop such a harsh sentence? Kyle and Jackie O on the other hand have actually exposed witnesses in breach of a suppression order. Do you think they will be sentenced to 10 months jail? Highly unlikely....

❗️The Boikiy - a Russian corvette armed with guided missiles - broadcast a fake ID code as it passed through the British Channel on Saturday.

On tracking sites it wrongly appeared as ships which have previously used that ID. BBC Verify matched the ID to the Boikiy by using satellite imagery, tracking data and a video of it passing under a bridge in Denmark.

It travelled alongside two vessels known to be part of Russia's "shadow fleet" - a network of tankers whose ownership can be obscured and are used to transport sanctioned oil products.

Frederik Van Lokeren - an analyst and ex-lieutenant in the Belgian navy - noted that the Boikiy's actions were unusual for a Russian naval vessel.

"Normally, if the Russians want to remain hidden in secret, they just turn off their AIS signal," he said. "So for them to be camouflaging as something else… it's very, very uncommon."

The trumpets of war are sounding out as Clive Palmer’s latest political venture descends into farce. The billionaire is trying to oust Trumpet of Patriots president Glenn O’Rourke amid allegations Palmer was never even a member of the party he bankrolled to the tune of $60m at the federal election.

The issue, at its heart, seems simple. Palmer wants to deregister the group. O’Rourke, who has been associated with the political parties that preceded ToP for decades, does not.

Palmer says he’s expelled O’Rourke from the party.

Palmer notoriously extracted the right to use the party’s name as his vehicle for the federal poll from O’Rourke, after changes to electoral laws stymied his usual plan of getting a pet senator – in this case Victoria’s Ralph Babet – to register a new party shortly ahead of the election.

O’Rourke remained as the party’s president.

Alas! No more, according to a brief email Palmer sent to party members recently, saying that the billionaire had kicked ­O’Rourke out of ToP.

“This short email is to advise you all that on 12 May, 2025 Mr Glenn O’Rourke was expelled as a member and officer of the Trumpet of Patriots.

It is far from that simple.

In Palmer’s version, the billionaire is the ToP chairman and chairman of its “interim executive committee”, with the power to manage all of the affairs of the party.

Including, presumably, the right to kick out anyone he doesn’t like.

But the problem for Palmer is that ToP has been around for more than 20 years under various names. First as the Country Alliance, then the Australian Country Party, then the Australian Federation Party.

Sadly, nothing is ever simple when the lawyers get involved, and that seems to be the certain outcome of Palmer’s latest foray into politics.
