California is taking President Trump to federal court after he ordered the National Guard into Los Angeles without Governor Newsom’s consent — a move the state calls an “unprecedented power grab.”

📍 The Guard was sent to protect federal property during anti-ICE protests, but California argues there was no “rebellion” and that Trump illegally bypassed state authority.

📜 “One of the cornerstones of our democracy is civil, not military rule,” the lawsuit reads, accusing Trump of fueling fear and inflaming tensions.

🚨 Meanwhile, the administration also activated 700 Marines — prompting more legal threats from Newsom.

Newsom: “Commandeering a state’s Guard without the governor’s approval is illegal and immoral. California will be taking him to court.”
